    Hi,

Here i am this time with AIO Cooling my Jet Engine 1080 TI. Previously i had my 1080TI Cooled with ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme IV (Click Here For Topic)

This time because of crosshair IV and ryzen upgrade i am unable to utilize my accelero IV and got stuck with Founders Edition Jet Engine For a While.
But Thanks to stock and price drops i was able to grab myself a AIO GPU Kit From Arctic (They Should Pay me Money for reviews ) Here it is Arctic Hybrid III - 120 Model for GTX980 (can support up to New Titan Xp).

There are some decent videos on youtube about 140mm version and the installations are same but who needs manuals and guides. Got my coolers installed in 15min put in my system and Tadaaa.
Who needs custom cooling haha (I am lazy sry, cant do custom cooling)

Did Some Overclocking, Benchmarks and Tortures to system here are results.

Right Now Even with All 100% Fan Speed its barely audible, and really happy with results but mostly with silence that i can enjoy after all.

if you had the money to buy a 1080ti - please buy a decent 80+ psu that has proper connectors too.

i once tried it on a friends pc with a R9 280x and psu cable just burnt in a sec. so not safe...

I had a similar system to your

    5820k oced to 4.6ghz
    MSI X99A Gaming 7

same problems you mentioned happened to me random blackout restarts tried everything.
    new psu 850w gold - 1000w plat.
    Changed gpus 1070 - 1070sli - 1080 - 1080sli - 1080ti all got tdr errors.
    Clean install windows 7 - 8.1 - 10
Having everything stock kept the issue from happening regularly but still occurred.
My case was well vented so no throttling.
Changed ram sticks to kingston - gskill.
Increasing the Vring Vccsa Voltages helped a little but still got error.
Setting everything stock and disabling all Mobo features(hpet -lan- audio) helped but still not solved.
Changed cables to individual feed from psu.

Solving my issue was changing the pcie x16 slot from main x16 to 2nd x8 and letting windows 10 install all drivers and not touching anything even removing all 3rd party apps like Corsair link Synapse Samsung magician and playing games at full screen mode. I got no more errors till i added pci-e nvme drive and it was back again.

so my conclusion was there is some weird thing going on with 5820k pci-e lanes or my mobo was going bad or it was not compatible with pascal Gpu boost 3.0.

My system was perfect stable with any Amd card 380-390-480 and cf modes.

If you check nvidia forums there are countless topics about it black screen and stopped responding errors but no real solutions i just accepted that my cpu mobo does not play well with pascal so i upgraded to ryzen now and living happily for now who knows maybe Volta will not play well with ryzen.

Previously had blacksnake issues with my 4790k and msi z97 gaming 7 mobo turned out Realtek hd audio was not playing well with R9 390 drivers. used dedicated sound card disabled on board and was good to go.

Sorry for wall of text but Good luck i know and understand the struggle. I hope you solve the issue.

I wanted to share my experience with Ryzen 1700 OC with you guyz.

I Up/side graded My X99 5820k 4.4Ghz Build it was time to move while the stocks lasts.

So i ordered Ryzen 1700( King OC Forever) and Asus Crosshair VI Hero (Best Mobo for AM4 Currently not because best oc but thanks to am3 holes on board.)

For memory i was gonna go with 2x 8gb HyperX 2133mhz kits but because of the pressure of the forum I upgraded them to 2x 8 HyperX Fury Black 2666Mhz kit (Verified list from Mobo).

I got parts installed everything cpu - mobo - rams and my lovely h115i cooler from corsair with AM3 back plate from store (Please Asus for next board include the am3 back plate Thank for holes anyways).

Loaded windows everything was fine. Tested stock for 2-3 days. some stability tests and found out that ryzen is hot as hell (not) and vent into ocing for the 3rd day). Tried 4ghz first got crash - tried 3.9 3.8 3.7 3.6 all crashed i was really pissed so i went and downloaded ryzen master and just upped voltage to see what can i do. give in 1.3v and tested instant jumped to 90c and crash. I just said ok lets check cpu block, opened case it was stable but wiggly a bit.

Got into my Stash of parts found a am3+ bracket checked sizes similar but there was a huge difference.
AM3 backplate was 1mm taller so insta switched and got a rock solid block in a second. logged in windows bam 26c idle.

Went back into bios loaded pre 4ghz bam windows loaded cinebench completed but crashed with Realbench so needed more voltage vent back in dialed custom settings and got a rock solid stable 3.9ghz@1.45v with load 60c.

I am happy now lesson learned not all back plates are similar and there is difference between am3 metal - plastic and am3+ plastic and metal plates what you need is am3+ metal back plate if you are mounting anything to C6H board that requires a am3 back plate.

İts the latest agesa did not had any other problems - rams are capable of 3200mhz with cl18 tested on intel system but not did not push above stock 2666mhz for now since i set cl15 and it still uses cl16 might need another bios and all the other rams i can buy are samsung d-die or hynix yet so waiting for some decent b-die corsair or gskill rgb kit to be available in my stores.

Max Safe Voltages for Ryzen 7 to myths for now include
    1.3 for Stock Fan
    1.35 for one tower air
    1.4 for two tower air
1.45 for basic aio 120mm or high air cooling
1.5 for 240+360 aio or custom water
1.55+ for extreme oc but you dont 24/7 this unless you want to change chip in 3 years but really good cooling needed.

    for SoC
1.1v is minimum you want for simple oc and ram stability
1.2v is still safe if you need stability
1.25v is getting to extreme oc part or you just want to squeeze the last bit for more ram oc.

for memory if your ram can handle you can go up to
1.5v for up to 3200mhz stable
    or
1.65v for some extreme oc that is just benching not 24/7

Generally as long as it boots up and you can cool it under 30 minute synthetic stress loads it will be fine.

coming from 5820k 4.6ghz 1.4v ryzen power usage is really good for me.

For current bios i need to set 1.475v with LLC on auto. it jumps between 1.4 and 1.461v since i can cool it and its 100% stable with gpu load.
Will use it for a week and see if its fine and save the bios and move in some tweaking maybe i can get less vcore with same or better speeds but
i will deffinetly need better ram with samsung b-die since my limit seems hyperx 2666mhz hynix sticks.

will get some 3d mark and userbench scores soon.

Nice was gonna try stock but got my h115i laying around so i used it on my ryzen 1700

stock cooler will be fine if you have a decent air intake system and a AC unit in your room.

event set at 100% the sound will not be issue compared to my 1080ti stock blower so try manual fan curve also check my latest post about manual voltages you can use and experiences and fails i had with my system here.
if you want better cooling get a Hyper T4 or Deepcool Gammax 400 they will be fine cooling up to 3.8-3.9 with decent voltage.
never buy a 120mm aio kit in that hot country it will be useless and try to get as much as possitive pressure in your case do not open side covers you dont want hell air from outside.

Welcome to ryzen and good luck with heat and cooling - i live in cyprus so its kinda hell hot in here too.

go watch der8auer Video currently if you dont mode all motherboards for x299 is not good for overclocking.

if you want to spend your money on the best go with x99 build for now or build the best Ryzen build with double 1080ti with the price difference of x299 or wait for threadripper platform.

MCCOPRA reacted to WereCat in How is Asus VG248QE in 2017 ?
As someone who went from 60Hz to 165Hz + G-Sync...
The jump from 60Hz to 144Hz+ is huge, very noticeable and you will never want to go back in most cases.
The jump from no G-Sync to G-Sync is not comparable to the one from 60Hz to 144Hz but once you get used to it you will appreciate it a lot and you will never want to be without it.
G-Sync is a big investment and it will lock you to NVIDIA side for future upgrades, so bear that in mind. I like it a lot, even though I think that the extra $ over Free-Sync is hard to justify, but since you already got top of the line NVIDIA Card it would make no sense to look at Free-Sync monitors.

    EDIT:
    Fast-Sync

It is not perfect and nearly not as good as G-Sync/Free-Sync, think about it as a better alternative to V-Sync since it requires very specific conditions to work properly.

It's decent. Not much has happened with 24" 1080p 144 Hz TN monitors since then. There are some newer options but the differences are minor if you aren't using FreeSync. Usually I recommend the newer ones, like the XG2401 or G2460PF, or the MG248Q, but it really just depends on pricing in your region. If the newer ones are similar price or cheaper, get one of them instead.

But then again when I switch to sth like 4k, I want a gpu that will preform better than 1070 does at 1440p.. I don't know man.. I guess it's just my OCD kicking in because I don't have the best of the best.. We'll see as the time goes by. I'll get the best of nvidia or AMD when I have the money.
