    upgrade help

So. I recently completely upgraded my PC last November/December (other than the GPU cause damn those expensive) and I wanted to upgrade from my old 21.5 inch (give or take) HP monitor that was bundled with the old pre-built system i used to use. I know that I want my new monitor to be 1080p and 27" and have one in mind, the Samsung S27F350FHE, but i cant find any reviews or other posts in other places about it. Have any of you had any experience with it that you could share your thoughts? Or possibly other similar monitors within the same price range (around $250~ AUD). An IPS/PLS panel would be preferred but I could probably settle for TN or something if I dont have much other choice. I don't care for FreeSync because I dont have an AMD GPU, nor G-Sync because that is when monitors get pretty pricey and my current GPU isn't worth getting a monitor with it. Thanks.
  2. okay, i was confused because asrock seems to use one called aura too
  3. Just something I've been curious about and haven't been able to find a definitive answer to: Do ASRock motherboards use the same Aura Sync program as ASUS motherboards or are they seperate? I'm assuming they do and it's probably a stupid question, but its something I've been wondering ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  4. Yeah I've thought about this, and it's annoying but true. It's part of the reason I'm only really focusing on a couple parts at first. It'll take me 2-3 months now just to get the parts i need to have a running system, provided i don't end up spending any of it on other things. I can be quite impulsive with buying things, which makes it hard for me to save. I'm not really holding my breath, and I don't easily fall for hype cause I've been burned enough times to know, but I am interested in the R5 now. I'll be sure to do some research; the build i posted was formed after actual hours of searching and researching, seeing what would satisfy what I wanted and needed, but I'm still kind of new to this which is why I asked for opinions. I'll be sure to keep this in mind, thanks.
  5. oh and the 1600x apparently doesnt include a cooler, and the 1600 doesnt have the rgb which is to be expected
  6. Pretty much everyone here has recommended ryzen 5, so I might go for that as long as it doesn't flop on release, which I'm gonna assume it won't but ya never know and I'll have a look at the cooler
  7. i wouldn't be getting each part months apart, i realise it may have come across like that with how i wrote it. it's more like every few weeks, give or take, i can get a new part, but i understand what you're saying and your point still probably still stands. I've been wanting a new PC for probably 3 years and only recently have i had the chance and ability to buy the parts. maybe i haven't been looking in the right places, but i almost never see sales for pc parts where i am, and shipping them from overseas would either end up costing the same, or more. and yeah, the cooler is more for aesthetics cause i dont really like the look of a stock cooler. I didn't think of the thermal paste that would come with it, but i guess that would work to use too. I wasn't that bothered about the size of an ssd, mostly just something to put the OS on and a couple games I am playing at the time, but ill look into ones like you mentioned.
  8. I've been more focused on having an intel cpu, not really looking much at amd/ryzen. but i'll have a closer look seeing as a couple people have recommended it
  9. ah i misread what you said as 2x8gb. i can look at other places but the place which this list is on doesn't have many 1x8gb sticks to chose from and what they do have either don't fit, or just dont look that good imo
  10. only problem is that it would cost almost twice as much, and i only plan to get 1 2x4gb at first, then upgrade with another one down the line
  11. I dont have the best track record with saving my money, and i'm not too fussed about new things coming out. Right now, I'll just be playing at 60Hz at 1920x1080, but I want to get an 1440 ultrawide at some point in the future after I've finished making the PC
  12. Hi, I'm kinda new to posting on the forum, having only posted once before, and with not much experience with it on other websites either. I'm currently planning a build (https://www.pccasegear.com/wish_lists/669176/build meeeeee if this link doesn't work i can post a list of the parts instead) and would like some opinions, thoughts, comments, criticisms etc. on it. I don't have a high budget, but I don't have a set one either, I might even change the CPU to something cheaper like an i5. I plan to buy each part separately over time as it will take me months as it is to get each part, and I can be pretty impatient but I know this can have some risks such as parts not working but not being able to test that until it is too late to return them. I already have the case and a hard drive I plan to use-- Phanteks P400, and a Seagate Barracuda 1TB. I know that an OS is missing from the list but that isn't a high priority to me at the moment. My main focus right now is just on the motherboard, power supply, ram, CPU, and a CPU cooler-- even if its kind of unnecessary if I don't plan to overclock, I'd like one. I'll eventually get the graphics card I have listed, but for now I plan to just use the GTX 950 I already have in my current PC until then. I hope to use it mostly for playing games, and possibly some video editing. If I have left out any information then let me know and I'll try to respond. I mostly want to know if the parts I have chosen are actually any good, if they would all fit right in my case etc. The list is in Australian Dollar btw, just in case you can't tell. Thanks
