  1. PC components have lost their character. All GPUs are a gray or black slap with some angles and possibly RGB All PCBs are just black... just black, where's the greens, the blues, the reds? All PSUs are shrouded cables that are black and more than likely modular All cases are a gray, white, or black slab with tempered glass and/or RGB I want my funky GPU shrouds back, my funky case designs back. Like the Thermaltake Commander MS-I, my MSI Twin Frozr editions, the old ASUS strix cards, etc. This isn't me saying modern components are bad, they're probably better than ever, and this doesn't mean I'm going to make, or want to make, an ugly PC. I just liked the options, it was cool seeing all the different options back then. Everything felt like it had more character and each PC build was truly unique outside of, "oh I got a 6600XT or 3060, or 3080 or 6800XT"
  2. Hey, I'm still alive.  Life has been weird.

I have a boyfriend!  Really happy with him.  He's amazing.  We share similar interests and we can talk about anything.

Recently upgraded my GPU to a 2070 Super, my bf got a 3080 so he gave me his old GPU.

Sold my 590, used the money to get the SwOLED, love it so far, Kirby looks amazing on it.

Job is still going great too!

But it's not been all good.  Last year on the 3rd of this month, my grandfather on my bio dad's side of the family died.

This year, on the same day, my grandfather on my mom's side died.  I'm not doing too hot there.  I am going to go to the funeral.  But it's been rough because of that so far.  We were close.

      Sorry for your losses.

Hurray for your new relationship and GPU though!

Thank you!  It's been rocky with the losses.  As for the relationship and GPU, it's been really good.  Almost a year now, we've been dating.

  3. The lockscreen is a pic I drew of Dorothy from Va11halla awhile back. The other is from an artist I follow on Twitter
  4. PC gaming doesn't interest me as much as it used to. Since getting my own place I'd rather sit on my couch in my living room and play games on my 58" 4K TV. On top of that, the pricing and production issues of just getting GPUs. My 590 is starting to show it's age in newer games. Also, and surprise surprise. I do like some JRPGs. Sure, Nier Automata and FF15 are on PC. But they're shit ports. They don't run the best on the 8th gen consoles, but I have a series X. So I play them on my Xbox, and they work just like they're supposed to. Hell for the most part they worked like they were supposed to on my PS4 and Xbox One. No need to download the FAR fan mod to get Nier Automata to work like on PC. and honestly, I've gotten into game collecting again. It's fun to me to see those spines from the cases on my shelf. Looking at my steam library doesn't give me the same feeling, or the feeling that I own it at all. I'll keep my PC for multiplayer games, me and my bf play Halo Reach on PC, and I have a 144Hz monitor to take advantage of that. But going forward, I think I'm just going to buy single player games on my Series X and Switch. I can at least kick back on the couch or recliner more comfortably for longer play sessions. Honestly, I guess my unpopular is that... with PS5 and especially the Series X (also including the current production and supply issues with GPUs), I don't see much of a reason to even game on PC anymore outside of more niche cases. The Switch is it's own niche that I love, but I won't get into right now.
  5. I bought this off my friend today for $130. The Beat Saber and Borderlands 2 codes still worked! Been playing some Beat Saber, it's a lot of fun.
  6. I played No More Heroes 1 and 2 as soon as they released on Switch

    Just beat Travis Strikes Again.

    I'm ready for Friday

  7. The 360 and PS3 didn't run games the best. Back in the day it seemed fine and people were honestly used to it. We had these cool new HD consoles, HD was finally mainstream, the whole 9 yards. But they didn't age the best. That was the big "leap" from 7th gen to 8th gen. The new consoles could consistently (or at least more consistently) hit 30fps and maintain it.
  8. I found the master chief controller stand and the MA40 for like, actually good prices, so I grabbed them. Had to. The MA40 comes with an code to redeem in game, makes the assault rifle in the game look like the nerf gun! Burnout Paradise was on sale, so I grabbed a copy.
  9. I mean, yeah. They're basically just model kits. The super expensive ones anyways
  10. Idk, Dukes Mayo from the south is pretty bangin. It's the only mayo I like, personally.
  11. I went on Xbox Design Lab, made a controller themed after Va-11 Hall-A, my favorite game of all time.
  12. the lanyards are such a pretty color
  13. I have spare Wii cases, so I just printed my own box art, I now own every CoD on Wii again. Closer look at these. Box art and promo art doesn't do these joycons justice, they're fucking beautiful irl. This is also the first limited edition controller I've bought since the Titanfall controller for the Xbox One.
  14. My Switch is my most used system, but the first game I played on the Series X was Halo Reach. It's my favorite halo and I had to play it in 4K
  15. Here's a size comparison of the Series X next to my One S.

  16. I got a Series X!! I love it! First game I played on it was Halo Reach in 4K.
  17. Here's one. The Game Boy Advance I have a lot of memories on, I loved my GBA growing up, it has my favorite Kirby and Metroid games on it. (Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland and Metroid Fusion). But looking back on it. Compared to all other Nintendo handhelds (excluding Switch as it's still the current gen console so it's library isn't as fully fleshed out as it'll be by the time it's done).. it's the weakest Nintendo handheld imo. (Also excluding Virtual Boy for obvious reasons). The OG GBA itself is the most comfortable game boy. Either the AGS 001 or AGS 101 are vast improvements over the stock GPA in terms of screen. Yes the AGS 001 has the weaker screen out of the 101, but a front light is still better than no light at all. The hardware is great, that's no the issue. It's the game library. It's had some strong games for sure. Kirby, Metroid, Mother 3 (in Japan only), Golden Sun, Yoshi's Island. But looking at a lot of Nintendo's output, a lot of the games are ports or remakes. The ports from the SNES are not as good as playing it on the SNES. (though this part doesn't matter too much to me. I will take the convenience of portability almost every time. Hell I did my entire NG+ run of The Witcher 3 on my Switch due to this convenience). But yeah, I feel like Nintendo's first party offerings weren't as strong as the GB or GBC, and not as strong as the future DS or 3DS either. I feel like we had a bunch of ports and some original games. I don't mind ports either, but I feel like it should be more original games than ports. IIRC, the GBA doesn't even have an original Mario game, 2D or (obvious) 3D.
  18. I got chills and a headache that same night. The next day I was fine. I'm glad it's back though, more vaccines is good.
  19. I wonder if and when Microsoft will announced a Halo Infinite edition Xbox Series X.

I'm all on board for it.  I remember Phil Spencer said in an interview that a smaller part of the design of the Series X is with limited edition consoles in mind.

Hurry up Microsoft, I need a Halo themed Xbox.

  20. Exactly. Hell I buy that stuff still. I didn't need a $2000 OLED 4K tv. I didn't need the biggest 4K LCD TV I could find either. Honestly I've disconnected a lot from PC gaming in recent years cause the whole community is just. "gamer vision gamer vision gamer vision."
  21. I have a 58" 4K TV I bought for black friday back in 2019. It's not the world's best TV. It has two HDMI 2.0 ports, fake HDR, and something called motion rate 120, it ain't 120Hz, but it's something. It has Android TV also, which is absolute dogshit. But it plays games just fine. I have an Xbox One S. I can watch my 4K Blu Rays and it plays Halo fine. I play my Switch on that TV. They all look good enough to me. All this arguing about TVs and TVs vs Monitors is silly. @CerealExperimentsLainis correct about consoles and TVs.
  22. Have they allowed Johnson & Johnson vaccines again in the states? I remember it being pulled cause some people got blood clots? It's the vaccine I got and my mom is wanting the same one since it's only one dose.
  23. I used to upgrade every two years. Regardless. Now I just use what I have and call it good. I don't game on my PC as much as I used to, so my current hardware meets my requirements.
  24. I like my CRKT Squid, idk if it's legal or not in Australia, but it's affordable and of decent quality. It's a smaller knife too, which I like personally.
