Everytime I install a program on my parents computers, they ask why I go though all of those check boxes and read though everything.

    if you can't go for the 8 GB 480 or 6 GB 1060 I'd go 480 cause 4 GB > 3 GB

GPU boss sucks and the 3 GB vram will affect his performance overall in my opinion it shouldn't even have been made

GPUboss is complete bullshit, don't ever visit that site again. use gpu.userbenchmark.com.

Definitely the 480 Nitro. 3GB 1060's are actually cut-down versions of the cards and 3GB of VRAM is not enough for modern games with 4GB becoming the minimum requirement...

You don't need the OC the monitor, there's no point.

You really have nothing to worry about unless the metal bends where it's mounted to the case, and removing the whole cooler would be a pain just to move a little ways. The biggest thing to worry about is flex from your graphics card, everything else should be solid if mounted properly.

It would have to be on for the LEDs and fans to power.  Semper Fi.

In addition to the 24 Pin connector, did you hook up the EPS for the CPU?

It's hard to determine what will happen if you have a lightning strike as there is so much power, your best option would be to install a whole home surge/lightning suppressor which usually will kill itself if it sustains a hard enough hit to save things down the line at least in your electrical system.

yes having those pins exposed would be bad and alot of people would fry MBs but if they simply made a right angled plastic 24pin port, it would be easy, i actually might think about 3d printing one out and then desoldering a 24pin and adding my own, of course to a cheap POS mb and not something $$$

This just happened today, my sisters boyfriend absolutely had to use my computer because I told him what hardware was in it(Instantly googling each part as a say it) so he says: "So, you have an ABSOLUTE beast of a computer?" As I usually reply, "Kind yeah" He asks if he can use it so I said yes, not an hour later he managed to make it bluesreen. HOW!? I get on it after it's booted and to see he thought it would be a good idea to use it for torrenting some of his "needed" files. Then later doing a virus scan to see there is a TON of malware, torjans and that, so the first thing i do is flash my HDD, and do a fresh install on my SSD. Then to notice that he thought it would be a good idea to stick his hand IN the computer, and unplug the SLI cable, undo one of the ram sticks, and put his greasy finger all over the brushed aluminium.

The most facepalming moment for me was in my programming class. The first week of school we had to tear down, clean, and rebuild our computers for the following school year. I was of course the first one to do all of that, my teacher asked me to walk around and help some kids who had no idea how this all worked. One kid was raising his hand and I walked over to him as he seemed very frustrated. He had the PC torn down and cleaned. Ready to be assembled(I watched this happen) He took the motherboard and literally dropped it 9 inches or more to the bottom of the case, screwed it in. I walked away after answering his questions. Later I walked back over to him to see him taking out the CPU and putting his finger in the socket. WAT!? I ran over and pulled his hand out and said "WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING!?" He replied - I was cleaning the CPU holder, it was full of dust. I facepalmed so hard. Not even 40 seconds later he calls me over and to see that He was trying to plug in the GTX 480 into the RAM slot. Sometimes I just want to give up on people and technology.

Motherboards can handle quite a bit of stress before breaking. And the hyper 212 evo isn't THAT heavy, and I'm pretty sure the board can handle it just fine.
