  1. Hi everyone, I am at a bit of a loss. I have a pretty badass PC, RTX 4090, 7800X3D, 32gb of ram, gen4 SSDs. It generally treats me well but when I connect my Samsung 4k tv to it, the whole computer hangs and is totally unresponsive for between 1-3 minutes. I am using HDMI 2.0 for the TV as all of my DisplayPorts are taken up by three monitors. Making other changes like switching the TV to game mode (120 hz) from regular mode also cause this hanging to happen. It does not happen when unplugging the tv. It does eventually work, but its very strange that it happens every time. This kind of thing has never happened to me with my laptops or older desktops. Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if I have forgotten any details. I have no screenshots to post as the issue is just a freeze. Thanks!
  2. I think there might be a miscommunication here. The 3070 is active when I am in a 3d application and is working as expected. I pointed out that it is inactive when doing web browsing because I thought it might be a likely culprit of hogging power when it wasn't actually in use, but since the indicator shows that it is inactive in those light use situations, I think I can rule out the gpu as the culprit. I do use nvidia experience but I think the settings are a non issue. Thanks for your time though!
  3. Thanks for responding! I have chagned the power plan to balanced in control panel as well as in razer synapse. Nvidia control panel is also on auto, but I have the taskbar indicator on and it shows that the 3070 is not active when I am not playing games. According to the batter life usage in windows settings, I don't see anything unusual as far as apps. Seems like its something more complex...
  4. Hi! I bought a razer blade 14 about five months ago, (6900hx 3070ti model), and I am having extremely poor battery life. I'm talking like 1.5 to 2 hours on a full charger with low screen brightness, battery saver on, and just web browsing/microsoft word usage. I'm hoping to hear from other users of this laptop if that is normal or if something odd is going on here. When reading reviews before purchase, it seemed to me that the battery life was more like 6-8 hours when in light use. Any advice is welcome as well! Thanks
  5. Hello! I need to buy a new laptop, as the battery life on my 2020 razer blade stealth is not cutting it for me in graduate school anymore. I originally bought the blade thinking I will game sometimes, but I have a real desktop now, (3080 + 5800X3D), so I don't need a laptop with a gpu. I do however, want a120hz screen, as I have gotten used to the smoothness and 60hz just doesn't do it for me. Good battery life is also a must. My price range is up to 1800 dollars. Looking for recommendations! Thanks
  6. The eero series by amazon is a good entry level option. look for something that has wifi 6.
  7. Hello everyone, I have a strange problem I am hoping someone has run into before. My gf and I both have recent Iphones and we are having an issue with my Linksys Altas Pro 6 system (model MX5503) where the phone shows it is connected to wifi but has no connection whatsoever. It doesn't give a "no internet" message on the phone either, as if everything is fine. Restarting the whole wifi system will solve the problem for a while but it comes back quickly. Restarting the phones does not help. Other devices seem to have no problems. Troubleshooting steps so far: I returned the entire system and got a new one, and set it up from scratch. Same problem. I talked to linksys support and they suggested I run the channel finder, but that does not seem to have helped either. I have no mac address filtering or blocking, I checked. Giving the phone priority in the linksys app doesn't seem to help either. I'm pulling my hair out here, no idea what to do. Anyone know of this issue and what to do? More troubleshooting steps? Thanks!
  8. Title says it mostly, what causes these? I am fairly certain it's not my video card because they appear before the monitor even has a video signal, on the msi splash screen. It's an MSI OPTIX MAG271CQR if that helps. The lines can get worse than that but usually dissapear after about 5-10 minutes of the monitor being on and do not come back until it is off again for a while. Thanks! IMG_5835.MOV.mp4
  9. Hello, I currently have a gaming setup which runs at 1440p, 144hz, with g-sync through displayport 1.4. I am toying with the idea of buying a second stream pc, and sticking an elgato or avermedia card in it so that I can stream 1080p60 without compromising my gaming experience. However, both of those capture cards run passthrough with HDMI ports, and I was wanting to know if there is a workaround, since my monitor only supports 100hz through hdmi, and I'd rather keep it at 144 with g sync. Additionally, how would my audio work? I have a usb microphone and usb headset, do I connect them to the gaming pc or the streaming one? I need to be able to use discord and such on the gaming system still. I thought a 5800x and a 3080 would be plenty for single pc streaming but I still run into huge frame drops on my stream while using nvenc in high fps games like apex legends. Thanks for any advice!
  10. It’s a 5800x not 5900x. Does that change your mind?
  11. Fractal’s ion plus are good power supplies aren’t they?
  12. Thanks for the advice, but I already have a 5800x so it’s too late to change anything on that front. I have a 280mm aio which keeps temps fairly under control since there’s very little overlooking to be done with zen 3 anyways. I would be interested in over clocking the 3080 though so I’ll have to see. Thanks again!
  13. Hi everyone! I got very lucky recently and managed to grab a 3080 fe from Best Buy at msrp. My current system is a 5800x and a 2070s. I’d also like to downsize my case from my 570x to a lian li 011 mini, but unfortunately my 750w cooler master v power supply will not fit in the new case, seeing as it is atx. I am seeing that my only real option is the Corsair sf750 for a 750w sfx power supply, but 180-200 bucks is a bitter pill for no performance improvement at all. Could I get away with a fractal ion 650 or something similar with my new setup? Or will those 3080 power spikes be too much? thanks for any advice!
