  1. Now the drive and all it's files are fully addressable but only one of the two Ram dimms is being detected. I'll backup all my files and then try to fix my Ram problem. asus crosshair vi hero x370 corsair vengeance lpx 32gb DDR-2133 (2x16G) CMK32GX4m2133c13 msi gtx 1080 Ryzen 1700x
  2. My english isn't the best I've just cleared the cmos of the mainboard and running chkdsk on start up to see if that is doing anything. When that is done I'll try another Sata port for the drive.
  3. Wester digital: "wd15eads" I've just cleared the cmos of the mainboard and running chkdsk on start up to see if that is doing anything.
  4. Additional Info: Drive Properties say it'S NTFS chkdsk says its RAW format
  5. CrystalDisnInfo isn't even detecting the drive
  6. What do you mean with no need to recover the data anymore? I've formatted the drive, but it into the new computer put files onto it and a week later they are non addressable. I havn't formatted the drive and now complain about the files not being their anymore.
  7. I've got all of the important data (110GB) on a back up I would only loose a few CAD files if the drive would die completely most of it would just be reinstalling/downloading programms and games. data recovery service would not be worth the money. All the files worked just this morning without anything happening inbetween.
  8. I've just upgraded my computer and wanted to feel the glorious advantages of the pc master race in it's full glory. But I've got a huge problem with one of my drives. I can't acces any of my files on the E: drive (HDD). There are 223 GB of data on the drive as of the properties of the drive If I check all the folders in the drive it says there are only 26GB on the drive. if I try to save those 26GB onto an external drive only 4GB are transfered without en error If I try to access and file an error message says that the file has been moved or renamed but I can see all the files executing .exe gives me the 0x0000006 error code chkdsk says the the file format is RAW and can therefor not check the drive i've formated the drive to ntfs before putting it into the new computer the drive is 0% fragmented the problems start occuring after trying to install a steam game and steam saying that there is a harddrive error but I was able to install steam games without a problem before that I would love to get some quick and useful help.
  9. Just wanted to close this thread with the update that I was able to fix the problem by rebuilding the system outside of the case. And some pictures so you can appreciate my janky test setup and horrible cooling loop.
  10. No they pin at I think their minimum speed. only all my system fans spin at maximum speed after I cleared the cmos
  11. Hi! My computer got really loud while gaming so I thought that I should clean my system again. As my CPU is cooled with a custom loop the only real noise maker is my gpu. I disassembled to card, dusted everything off, replaced the thermal paste (non conductive EK-TIM), screwed everything back together and put it back into it's pcie slot. And since then I don't get any video signal to any of my monitors. -Mainboard does not have integrated graphics so I cannot even see the boot screen. -No post code (beeps) so the mainboard thinks everything is fine with cpu, memory, etc. (no post code beep for gpu error) -fans of gpu spin -cleared cmos -checked pcb with reference pictures for missing smd components Hardware: Asrock m3a770de AMD Phenom II 965 Zotac GTX650 ti Boost would be happy for any help because my financial status does not allow me to just buy a new gpu greetings, markus!
  12. Well I'm electrical engineer and I feel comfortable enough to replace a blown fuse. Don't be a pussy.
  13. Regarding the screen I would guess it's not the actual panel which is broken but only the glass infront of it: The metal on the back of a lcd panel (which shorted out the power supply?) is in most cases not even used as a ground for the electronics but only a physical protection for the panel itself. You can maybe get a replacement for the glass (often in combination with a shittier screen) from a Chinese vendor, as you can get that easily for Iphones and macbooks. For the power supply a bit of solder and a steady hand could also be enough. You can torture a modern power supply a lot before it is completely useless so hopefully just a blown fuse which needs to be replaced. As long as a integrated chip/micro controller isn't completely fried. Just check the board with a reference picture for any abnormalities and then check for conductivity/capacity/inductance with a multimeter. If the power supply is a separate circuit board you may be also able to get one second hand from a Chinese vendor. But as this is Apple they may have added steps to brick the whole system if anything is wrong with the power delivery.
  14. the "good" thing about coffee is that you're able to see where it went because of the stains and there was only a small droplet on top of the HDD nowhere near any electronics or the holes.
  15. out of instinct I pulled out all cables as soon as I was at my girlfriends desk, but the battery isn't removalbe from the outside and I took it's time to remove all ten screws and pry open the laptop. Additionally the battery was held in place with double sided tape so that was a bitch itself. The HDD looks completely dry and I will try to copy all important files by connecting it to my pc.
  16. Hello, Long story short: my girlfriend spilled a lot of coffee all over her laptop (Asus F540L) and now we try to fix it. The laptop turned itself off in seconds, immediately tried to boot automatically but turned itself off again even before windows was loaded. After most of the Liquid was drained the laptop spun up for a few minutes but the screen stayed black and you couldn't force a shutdown I already disassembled the laptop removed the front-cover with keyboard, battery, HDD and optical drive because Asus customer support declared that the warranty isn't voided by opening up the computer. We removed the all coffee stains with distilled water and Q-Tips and are now planning to go to the next pharmacy to get rubbing alcohol for proper cleaning. I now want to ask if there are any other recommendations to assure the best possibility for the computer to be still working after proper cleaning and drying. Thank you in advance! Greetings, Markus.
  17. I have a 230W and a 320W PSU planned to use with the peliters, one peliter needs about 60W so I can choose how many of them I want to use and adapt the PSU. I found a 40x80mm, 40x120mm, 40x160mm and a 40x200mm Waterblock which lets me choose how many peliters I want to use. Thanks for the helpful input btw
  18. Thats pretty close to what I wanted to build, which gives me confidence. But I don't want to permanently cool my CPU with it, I just want to test it.
  19. I was just looting old unused computers in my house for heatsinks, fans and power supplys and found all the remaining stuff for 50€ on ebay. So I might give it a try, but nevertheless it will take some time because all the stuff has to ship from china.
  20. I know that it would be overkill ^^ It's more of an experiment because I'm bored (:
  21. I thought about that but I think it looks shitty to have your mobo full of slimy stuff.
  22. Because of the condensation I thought to move the peltier units away from the cpu and cool the water cooling the cpu and not the cpu directly
  23. These TEC-Units can create a delta Temperature maximum of up to 70 degrees Celsius which I think would be powerful enough to cool a CPU. But your point is valid and I thought it is just an interesting idea.
