Hey Guys, So I've been trying to run steam link to play some games on my tablet, but the experience has been sub-optimal and for a closed network with only 2 devices running on it (PC, tablet) I would expect more So after toying with my router I looked at it's datasheet: https://static.tp-link.com/TL-WR940N_V4_1478860099052w.pdf and look at that, it's Wi-Fi max speeds are stated as 450Mbps and the LAN ports are 10/100Mbps. So I have 2 questions: 1. Should I run my connection via wifi only or is it better to connect via PC->ethernet->router->wifi->tablet? 2. I'm 90% sure, but are all these values in bits and not bytes? Hey man! Alright so I did some digging, there seems to be a lot of rumors about higher refresh rate VR headsets. But that's not what put me off from buying right now. The problem is the game variety, the graphics and emersion levels. I personally think they have a long way to go. Give em 2 years and I think we should see another spike in VR popularity. The industry just needs time and I need new hardware if I were to run dual 1440p lenses at 240 fps (just giving an example). For now I'll go through my steam library which is full of unplayed games.

Hey Guys, I'm about to switch out my 1TB hard drive for a new 2TB. It's not my boot drive, but I have some low use steam games, school documents and some programs that aren't on startup automation. I can either just copy paste the files and change the drive letter or I can use the built-in cloning function of my dual HDD dock. I'm only afraid that there's some hidden partition or config files that can't be just copy pasted. What would you guys suggest? Thank you in advance! Old HDD: WD Blue 1TB New HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB

Oops thought this was a discussion room not a thread. My bad. But I 100% agree with him. Wait and see, I believe amd, intel and Nvidia have quite the show coming in 2021-2022. And it's up to you. If you like to gradually upgrade then wait till mid year to see if people start selling their 20 and 30 series cards for a good price. If you're like me and you like to build a whole new system then I suggest you wait till 2022. Be patient and reap the rewards. Good luck

But please do enlighten, if Mark Zuckerberg or any "big company" knows every detail of my life how does that affect me. This includes you too @Midevil Chaos . Just because I gave my opinion on your off topic comment doesn't mean I don't appreciate the time and effort you put commenting about the topic at hand. I just like to express my lack of concern for privacy issues because I truly believe that it can help people feel less threatened and scared about subjects like these.

Hey guys, I need a second opinion before I decide on anything. So I'm thinking of buying a valve index but some people are saying the HP reverb g3 would be a better choice. I'm not even sure if I should buy a VR headset. I feel like there might be a next gen leap around the corner that I might not be aware of. Btw I'm running a GTX 1080 so how well do you think that would run the latest VR games? Thank you in advance!

Yeah did that a second ago works fine now thank you. Although I didn't have some WD40 I had gun treatment it says it cleans, lubricates and protects. You think that's fine?

Heard a whistling noise from my PC thank God it wasn't my harddrive. Opened it up and saw that one of my GTX 1080 strix fans was not spinning it would for a split second, screech and stop. Disassembled the GPU shroud and I tried to spin the fan with my finger, it doesn't keep spinning like others it just stops. Anyway I can fix this? I already ordered a replacement fan but I don't feel like waiting a month you know how Chinese shipping is.

I just need to make sure that the memory isn't the issue here. Do you think it's fine to run memtest86 on the stock cooler or should I install the AIO?

It just crashes on CSGO. I thought Prime95 was like any other stress test but I've learned today that it's what you can a torture test

I'm pretty sure they should be saved in some directory, see if they're still there copy them somewhere safe reinstall synapse and copy them back or 'add' them in the program. If they're gone from the directory, they're gone...forever!

I've been troubleshooting this PC for days. It has an i5-6600 w/ stock cooler. I'm testing out both the CPU and RAM w/ prime95 and temps hit 100C and CPU throttles (26C on idle) sometimes it crashes before I can stop the prime95 test. Swapped out the RAM but Its doing the same thing. Is it normal for temps to 100C on stock cooler. It starts hitting these these temps on test 2 in prime95, Doesn't even blue screen anymore just shuts off.

I'm guessing no one would buy it for parts?
