  1. You open up Windows, and you try and access the internet, and instead of pulling up a virus (Internet Explorer), you get a black screen, yup sounds like your anti-virus deleted the files so you wouldn't ever make the mistake of trying to use Internet Explorer again.
  2. That's because Explorer is a virus, you should be thanking your antivirus, seriously.
  3. /me holds forehead in shame. Okay, it's not bad. However, you went with a non-k cpu, with a z-chip mobo, and an aftermarket AiO cooler. Also, you appear to have a CX power supply stuck your shoe, and I really hope you get that barracuda off your back. Now, you can keep the z-chip mobo and the aftermarket AiO if you want to upgrade to a 6700k later, but as it stands, you only need a non-z-chip mobo, and at best a Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler. That CXm PSU makes me want to vomit, seriously, have some self-respect, get a real PSU. Also, that 2tb Seagate drive has infamous unreliability, get a WD blue, it costs as much and actually comes with a warrantee. FINALLY, my final complaint, do not, I REPEAT, DO NOT, get an FE card! What a waste of money that thing will be! It is going to cost >$100 more expensive than the AiB boards! (I'm too lazy to convert currency right now, bite me) *huff* *huff* Okay, I think that's over. Don't forget to quote or mention me in a comment if you have a response, positivePXL [+PXL]
  4. The only way the 980ti beats a 1070 is if you overclock the 980ti, but an overclocked 980ti won't beat an overclocked 1070 either, sooooo.
  5. Actually, no. Benchmarks show that the 980ti has the same performance, and for the most even worse performance than the 1070, and with Simultaneous-Multi-Projection, the 1070 will eat the 980ti alive.
  6. We know the GTX 1070 will crush 1440p and vr gaming, and it's $400 right now. You are going to get people telling you to just wait for the Polaris cards, but as soon as those come out, you'l also get people telling you to wait for the 1080ti ! Just, do yourself the favor, buy yourself the 1070 now. If it doesn't end up working out between you two, then you can always keep it for later or just put it another build. That's my suggestion at least. GL in your hunting.
  7. Exactly what you asked for OP, and the exactly my opinion too.
  8. Whelp, between randomly losing the build, and everybody else coming in and doing it better than me, I think you've got enough feedback for now, I'll just thumbs-up my recommendation.
  9. Oh I LOVE these kinds of builds! Gimme one second to throw something together!
  10. This is all fine and dandy, but the OP is in college my brutha. He can't utilize hyper-threading with the work he is doing, and those new i7's cost over $400 for the base unit! Some quick recon and I was able to find a good handful of 8-core AMD processors. As a 3d modeller and game designer, you will need more physical logic cores, not more threads. Additional threads will be able to improve your multi-task-ability, but with 8 physical cores, you'll be able to render 3D models and images really quickly, which is what you need. I found these 8-core processors at various price points: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113347 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113346 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113284
  11. You can fix it, it's okay. Now, normally, the community would recommend that you just get an i5 for gaming, or an i7 if you have the budget, but you don't need hyperthreading, you need physical logic cores, so this is actually a trick question. While I am not well versed in the AMD line-up of processor, I am actually going to have to recommend that you get an AMD CPU.
  12. "There ain't no pill for stupid"
  13. Why is this even a question? Eat beans for a week if you have to, GTX 1070 FTW MUTHA FAKA
  14. Corsair AiO's are famously reliable, but the NZXT Kraken x61 is also pretty BA as well.
  15. Dood, don't get the Raijintek AiO's. I know that they look cool, but they have 1-egg on Newegg for a reason, and that's because they suck aaaassssssssssss. Just read the reviews, almost 90% of reviewers say that their pump started leaking either right after installation, or within 6 months of purchase. Just, don't. Make an investment in the security of your system and your parts. Just don't.
  16. No sir, the GP100 chips (upscaled P100 chips) won't be available. The current chips are the GP104's, and the only leak we have available says that the new Titan and the 1080ti will use a GP102 chip.
  17. Only way this works is if you go 1080 SLI off the bat, otherwise, 2x980ti's vs. 1x1080, 980ti's still win. I would either: 1) Get the 2x1080's now 2) Wait for the GP102 cards, a.k.a. the 1080ti and the new Titan.
  18. She really just needs a camera, she's clearly not an enthusiast because she's gone years without a proper one, but, she just needs one.
  19. I'm pretty sure there is a healthy sweet-spot in there, but with a smaller monitor, it think it's just a bit more comfortable.
  20. If I sit too far away though, I won't be able to see details in the frame.
  21. You didn't even cover the cost of the console subscription for online content like XBOX Live, that's another $30 a month continuous, and XBOX has had serious issues with continuing to charge players even after they cancel their subscriptions. With a computer, it's a one-time purchase that will last you years, whereas with consoles you not only have to pay the purchase cost, but also the cost of each new game, and the subscription cost. $400+$60/month+$30/month I think I've only payed for like, 4 games in my PC gaming career, everything else I do is Free-To-Play and Free-To-Win. You didn't even hint at the gaming tournaments! CoD World Championships 2015: $1,000,000 prize pool DOTA-2 'The International' 2015: $6,000,000 to the winners alone, and a prize pool of over $18mil. CoD: $60 for every new game DOTA-2: Free-to-play/Free-To-Win Because fuck you Punky Jay, that's why.
