  1. I know right? Red's are the most popular switch on the market, but I personally have a hard time using them effectively because they are non-tactile. The tactile feedback is absolutely critical for the way I handle my keyboards. Otherwise it just feels like I'm using a membrane switch that travels deeper
  2. I look up keyboards every once in a while, trying to find one that fits my picky needs, and it just does not seem to be around. I was wondering if anyone here has any idea where I can find one that won't make me compromise. 10-keyless n-key rollover (or at least 5 key rollover) Cherry MX Brown switches I'm currently using a membrane office keyboard from my computer, which is a dedicated gaming rig. It is seriously annoying to use when I am trying to game because it only has like 3-key rollover. Thank you in advance, positivePXL [+PXL]
  3. I am currently putting my old laptop back together for my grandmother. I had taken all of my old data files off of the hard drive and put them onto my new RAID1 in my new desktop when the operating system in my laptop started slowing down when the HDD became saturated and fragmented. I am trying to do a new, clean install of Windows7 for that laptop. I am becoming annoyed now, because I have no idea what to do now that I just reinstalled Windows. Among other things, I need the drivers for the WiFi solution, and I need the drivers for the media alt-buttons. I just need a direction and a little bit of help from my friends. Thank you ahead of time, positivePXL [+PXL]
  4. California is the largest and most influential Democratic voting state in the United States, and we have a Democrat in office that California voted for. Obama won't let the Supreme Court bring any action against a Democratic state. Remember what happened a couple of years ago in Arizona? Arizona was proposing a couple of laws that were already in place by the central government, for the sole purpose of them being able to enforce their borders without Congress' say-so? The laws in question were brought before the Supreme Court, and they ruled that a police officer can't make anyone they pull over prove their citizenship ;-; The protests for those bills consisted of non-english speakers holding up giant Mexican flags in the courtyards of court buildings in Arizona. This. I lived in California. Lived. I moved because I hate the people, I hate the politicians, I hate the politics, and I hated the businesses there, but the rest of what I have to say about California should be left to another rant. (see also above for Arizona border law rant)
  5. So, I posted about this earlier as well, but my problem just amplified itself. So, I went ahead and downloaded the Windows 10 "Media Creation Tool", and tried to get it to work. I cannot get it to either upgrade my existing OS, or my make an install media for a new computer, because my current OS drive doesn't have enough room for it to download to. I have looked through my entire C: drive, and somehow, I have 54.44gb used of 54.5gb total space in my OS partition, and only about 30gb total is actually accounted for across all of the files in the C: driver, (yes, I have hidden files visible). The Window's folder itself inhabits a total of 24.5gb of that 30gb. The MediaCreationTool needs 8gb just to download the files to! So, even if I delete every single file, folder, driver, and program on my C: drive, I won't have been able to make enough space for Win10 to install to. The only other option I can think of right now, is to go out and buy a new god damn window's install disk, and load up my SSD on a new computer just so I can reformat it! I am getting seriously pissed off at how difficult this situation has become. It's now even happening where my games won't render in entire sections of maps for some obscure reason. I cannot fix this issue with my skillset, please, I need help.
  6. I have McAfee though, I thought it was supposed to be keeping all of my drivers up-to-date?
  7. This is what I was told to do, I'm sorry, it's just what happened. I now know that having a spare partition for the OS is a bad idea, but now I have no means by which to expand my current OS partition to fill the drive. So, the questions now come down to, what are my options? Should I move all my program partition items to my hard disks, and then just wipe the SSD, reinstall Window's? Should I do most of the other steps, but jump straight to Win10 this time? I honestly don't know what to do right now.
  8. So, I finished building my computer a while ago, at least the physical part. The software part of it has remained a thorn in my side since day one. The first few steps went fine, make sure it posts, pop in the OS CD, create a partition on your SSD for your OS before installing it (in my case, I allotted 60gb to my OS partition, which is going to become one of the focuses of my anger here), let the OS install, restart the computer, let it boot, and pop in the driver disk. And this of all places, was where the problems started. I dropped my MSI all-in-one driver disk that came with my GamingM5 board into the ROM player, and let it spin up. The UI itself worked fine, I looked through the list of drivers and bloatware it would install, deselected Norton and a few another tiny utility item, no big deal, and let it start installing everything. I came back a few minutes later, and I found it, stuck on the install of the Nehimic audio utility. I let it sit for a little while, but it just stayed, 99.99% installed, for around 15 minutes. In the back of my mind already at this point, I am of course thinking to myself, 'terrific, this is gunna a friggin shit-show isn't it?' I hate being right about these kinds of things. After a forced reboot of my computer and the driver installer program, the Nehimic utility installed properly. Later that same day however, as I was trying to find drivers for my wireless internet dongle (which ended up having been waste of time because I later found a 50" ethernet cable, the only thing capable of reaching my desk from across the room from the router without running straight down the middle of the floor), I realized that I had no sound. I managed to get my good friend to get on through TeamViewer to take a look around my system while it was still plugged in. A network engineer my trade, and a computer builder by profession, I trusted him with this kind of work. What we later found out and fixed, (albeit after taking 4 hours to fix), was that my audio drivers had not been properly installed, and that my motherboard/OS didn't even recognize it's own audio chipset. Now, that was only the first hurdle, these days, I have problems equally as dumbfounding. For starters, even though I have every version of VC++ installed, I can't get PCSX2 (a ps2 emulator) to run, because it says it's missing a file that I am pretty handled by the VC++ installs. On the other hand, I couldn't even get PCSX2 to install correctly, because it would always get hung up on trying to process the same damn file, which I had at one time even let sit for an hour while I tried to let it work. I am getting weird crashes while playing Minecraft, half the time my computer just saying that my graphics drivers have crashed, even though my computer would otherwise have been working flawlessly up until said crashes. FFS, Minecraft wouldn't even install to my SSD partition! It would only install properly when I installed it to my Hard Disk partition! Over the last couple of days, my computer will randomly just start freezing up in the middle of an action, and completely debilitate my machine until I force reboot it. The most annoying of all of this BS, has started to make itself apparent. There are some programs that install themselves directly to the OS/boot partition in manners that cannot be configured to do otherwise. The problem it would seem, is that with all of these programs that I cannot ditch from my boot partition to my to more convenient locations, like my main SSD partition, seperate from my OS, or even preferably my massive 1tb RAID1 disk, they have completely saturated my boot partition. I have like 20mb free out of the 54.5gb of usable space on my boot partition. Now, I have tried to work around this. I opened up my disk management tool, and I shrank the size of my programs partition on my SSD, so that I could try and make room to [iexpand[/i] my boot partition. But it won't let me! I am angry, and I am god damn pissed off. I can't even get my new GoldenEye Source to install, because it refuses to extract the files to anywhere except my users files location (in the god damn boot partition). I don't know what to do, I am already sick and tired of trying to deal with this bull. Please, for the love of <insert deity here>, help me, HELP ME! Thank you in advance, positivePXL [+PXL] (Yes, I watched Luke's video on optimizing drives and driver partitions, yes, I watched the part where he relocates some library groups to locate to other places, but he was also using Win8 or Win10 at that time, and I am only running Win7. Besides, none of that would prevent programs from installing to the user files. . .)
  9. Almost the cheapest Space Engineers price, nice. Perfect time to grab it now that I just finished my new PC and my last account that had Space Engineers got hacked and stole $200 from me! Well then, that escalated quickly.
  10. So, there are just so many displays on the market, in so many styles with so many individual talents and features, it's really, really, really hard to sort through all of the noise. I was hoping to receive a monitor recommendation, with a few specific things I am looking for. Somewhere between 19" and 21" MUST have an adjustable height stand (I'm 6' 5", so a monitor that can't be adjusted for height, means it has to be tilted up. This is neither a comfortable viewing angle, nor practical, because my lights are on the ceiling, and reflect badly enough against vertical panels) 1080p please, I don't need anything more. I don't want to spend more than $350 for the monitor, some leeway available if the features are attractive enough. Thank you ahead of time, positivePXL [+PXL]
  11. It's a limitation to Win7, it can only be booted from a SATA connected CD-ROM or a SATA connected HDD/SSD.
  12. Just finished my computer build, but only now is it that I have hit my first bump in the road. So, my computer, right now at least, only has HDMI and DVI-D Dual link video outs. Now, the only spare computer monitors around right now (didn't have enough money to get a new monitor) are a television which will need to be returned to it's original purpose when I'm done with it anyways, and an office monitor that has DVA and most importantly, DVI-D dual link inputs. The only problem I am finding, is that I don't have any DVI-D dual link cables. I actually have 2 DVI-D single link cables. My question is whether or not I can use my DVI-D single link cable, albeit at a lower capacity than dual link, to carry the video signal?
  13. Much appreciated /me tilts hat Was gunna buy parts today anyways, but I used the extra money from this deal to buy 3 day shipping.
  14. No way, no how. An i5-6600k, hell, an i5-6500, wouldn't bottleneck two GTX 1080's in SLI!
  15. Don't forget, you'll need to buy a new motherboard to get one with a compatible socket/chipset if you are switching to Intel from AMD, unless you already have one lying around. And if you do, what is the socket on that mobo?
  16. That sir, is a Corsair pump mounted on that chip. Corsair currently offers AiO's with the highest reliability from any company currently manufacturing. I would strongly recommend this card if it is in your budget. But seeing as it is in your budget, I'd also recommend getting a GTX 1080 (with the same water cooling pump if that thing floats your pump)
  17. Sometime between the time of this posting, and infinity. There, a guess.
  18. The laptop that I am currently using was purchased used, and came as is, so I have no manual for the equipment, so I cannot determine, myself, what the issue is. Normally, I have 4, happy little LED indicators. One for power, one for battery, one for HDD usage, and one for WiFi usage. Presently, however, I have 4 very unhappy led indicators. For some reason, my power cord is showing as disconnected at random times, and whenever my laptop thinks the cord is disconnected, the power-on and the battery LED flash, probably telling me that I shouldn't be running without a cord on the "High-performance" profile. Simple enough probably, but also, my battery LED itself has changed from a bright, happy shade of blue, to a rather angry looking orange. What might be the problem with my laptop? Acer Aspire 5750-6664 core-i5-2450m 6gb RAM 500gb HDD Windows 7
  19. Linus has said on multiple occasions that LTT isn't doing very many more build logs because he doesn't like doing them anymore. He is making content that he and LMG want to make, and right now, build logs are not among them.
  20. Most of the time, people just get bored of the vanilla experience. People cheat for the reasons that people hack, the same reasons that people grief, but it's also the same reason why modding communities are so popular and diverse. Minecraft is a pretty good example, but other games like Ark, etc. You're wrong by the way, too, about it taking away the fun. You're right that it takes away the skill, but that isn't the point for cheaters. Most cheaters just do it because again, they need a new experience, and new experiences with something familiar can be fun, albeit not for the reasons that vanilla clients are.
  21. You clearly did not watch the VSause video that I quoted. I don't feel like going into the science of why you are wrong, so I'm just gunna ask that you do, in fact, watch it, so I don't have to say it.
  22. Okay, so my both me and my friend of mine graduated this year. I did pretty well for myself with present, I got a $500 watch, and like $500 more in cash and gift cards, but my friends uncle decided to buy him a new laptop. The laptop which he received was a Toshiba Satellite. It has 12gb of ram, an i7-4150u, and a 1tb HDD, but not a graphics chip. Granted, the 4th gen i7u is better than my second generation i5u in my laptop, but I'm still trying to figure out a few things. First, why in the hell his uncle thought that this was a good graduation present, and two, why are there 12gb's of ram in a computer that doesn't even have a GPU?! Please help me understand, seriously, I'm on the brink of just telling him to just sell the laptop and get a real one.
