  1. There's a motherboard Asus WS x299 Sage that somehow supports x16/x16/x16/x16 configuration AFAIK, but for that, apparently you need an x299 chipset.
  2. Titan Xp is better but it is difficult to get as it can only be ordered from nVidia and isn't available in India. 1080ti also costs around 1 lakh.
  3. When the Nvidia 10 series graphic cards were out, GTX 1080 and GTX 1070, 10 bits per color was supported only by the full-screen apps and not by the windowed OpenGL applications like Photoshop (10 bpc support in Photoshop was limited to only Quadro cards at that time.) Later when the Windows 10 Creators Update was out, then too there were various issues like faded colors with Windows HDR. So what's the condition now ? Are games running in HDR ? Do Photoshop and Premiere Pro support 10 bpc with GeForce cards ? We can still watch HDR videos and Netflix HDR on PC. Can't we ? Does Windows support HDR throughout its UI yet ? What's the overall condition of HDR (in mid 2017) ?
  4. I have sort of a weird question about the Thunderbolt 3 expansion cards. All these expansion cards plug into the PCIe 3.0 x4 slot on the motherboard. But I guess the bandwidth of a PCIe 3.0 x4 slot is something less than 4 GBps and the bandwidth of a single Thunderbolt 3 is 40 Gbps (5 GBps). So how does this work ? Some expansion cards even offer 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports. Is there something to do with the Thunderbolt headers on the motherboard ?
  5. How is the Asus Poseidon variant in comparison to the other two ?
  6. My Macbook Air (2015)'s 256 GB SSD stopped functioning after 14 months of use. The Apple service center here in India asked for INR 43500 ($670) for SSD replacement which is almost 50% of the price at which I bought the laptop. What should I do ? It's been a long time since this happened and I am running my laptop off an external HDD since then.
  7. Take a look at this thread before going for Ryzen 5 1600X
  8. In the recent video by LTT, Linus said that Thunderbolt 3 on Windows can't run 5K, but wasn't TB3 always advertised as capable of running 2 4K displays @ 60Hz each, then why can't it run 5K? And can't even the PCIe 3.0 x4 TB3 expansion cards run 5K@60Hz ?
  9. I meant that the Dell XPS 15 with 4K display has the best color gamut as I was not sure about the non-4K variants. Also there is no such rule that a 4K display will always have a better color gamut than non-4K displays.
  10. The companies generally do not mention the color gamut that the laptop supports. In order to find that you'll need to look for a review of that particular laptop on YouTube, youtube reviewers usually cover that if the laptop is a high-end one. Dell XPS 15 with 4K display has the best color gamut as of now.
  11. Laptops aren't cheap anyway, like MacBook Pro 2016. Power Consumption could be a point.
  12. Why do not laptops get Core i7 Extreme Edition chipsets? Like getting a Broadwell-E 8-core processor on a laptop would be great for professionals. Thoughts?
