  1. Well this sounds familiar(thanks to a lost Californian, and thanks epa, now it sounds like I have to figure out how much a cow farts and report it, what's next a breathing tax?)...So, 1. Look North of Casselton ND. All what you will see is a sea of red lights. Wind farm. Look to the south. Wind farm. As one of the things ND is famous for we are using it and selling it to Canada and MN. 2. A lot of our coal doesn't stay in state. Iirc most goes to China, and what's left goes to our few coal plants, and plants in the midwest. 3. Garrison Dam. Built in the 50s and ever since then we have exported power. If the Missouri river quits well? it won't for quite a while, if it does then there probably be a large project to pipe water up here for irrigation and misc. Uses(drinking etc.) 4. Ozone doesn't "melt". As the local college said when the paper asked: co2 doesn't deplete the ozone layer, it just slowes it's regeneration. Cfcs hurt the ozone. Methane doesn't either. 5. Anytime global warming is argued, we have a cold winter. Fun. Plants are being developed and some have naturally evolved already to deal with the issues of no ozone(uv rays etc). 6. Cooling system for livestock? What is your idea of a farm in North America? A feedlot? If you mean water misters, no. That makes mud, which is worse. Our cows simply go into the shade(trees, other side of hills) during the day and at night/dawn/dusk go and graze and do whatever. 7. In one way plants die ing faster would be almost better as they would stress(higher protein=more money) and, from what I have seen, produce faster. All crops I grow have to die before harvest, except the crab apple, choke cherry and buffalo berry trees/shrubs, which are for personal consumption. 8. Find me a battery that stands up to our extremes, which have been close to the same ever since they have began recording them.(126f in the summer, -70f in the winter) 9. Clean coal actually does make sense and works. See current epa regulations. It basically has to be breathable anymore. All soot and other "bad" gasses have to be either captured or converted. See previous post on using co2 from ND in Canada to extract oil. That's the plan going forward for most of the state's coal plants. 10. An idea: exempt ag people from regulations and ban vehicles from everyone else. Or you know, get China to care about it. Both aren't happening as no one cares about the ag people and China is China and not changing.
  2. Well why starve/kill the group that built you and will(probably) support you indefinitely?
  3. Hello,I am looking for a recommendation for a protective (mostly from falls) battery case. With my old phone(kyocera brigadier) I didn't have to worry about a case, so I don't know what's good, bad, or recommended. Why a battery case? My cell service is terrible. I would also prefer it to have or to fit in a holster. Also I haven't really heard/found a clear answer on screen protectors: should I get one and, of so, what one should I get? Thanks
  4. *some. My equipment that has a cvt does have gears. I regret buying a cvt.
  5. Qvc all in one "no cpu, no box" "you couldn't get 4k without it"(referring to intel's 7th gen) "intel's newest" (are they not on 8th gen?)
  6. I didn't know they figured out how to make a replacement for the differential. technically all vehicles have gears. Well Coal-wise, in Beulah ND they are capturing all CO2 and using it to extract oil, then leaving it there(in the ground, where it is stuck there until some MAJOR earth movement. They have to study it to make sure the layer/reserve is sealed). Nuclear kinda screwed itself with Chernobyl. Not really idiocy when you see what happened. I wouldn't want that near me.
  7. Last I heard the hole(if that's what you're taliking about) fixed itself.
  8. His prototype actually could get up to 85mph. I seen it running on I-94 when I was down there
  9. No that's exactly what you're saying. "Let's KILL off an industry, a couple million animals, and the people who take care of them, because environment" what about their benefits, such as soil aeration, fertilizer that is spread, and the auto mowing and keeping the native grasses from being choked out by weeds?(I'm battling the USFS on the same grounds right now.) Remember when the who said we have to stop using antibiotics in animals or we are gonna die in 100 years? Beef dropped $30 and hasn't recoverd. The same thing when they said red meat is a "possible carcinogen" My state of North Dakota, at the time of the last survey, has over 300 years worth of oil left in the KNOWN layers and enough KNOWN coal deposits to last until 2500, at the current rate of increase per year. I really don't get why meat is unhealthy. I really don't. Then again I don't get why people want to screw us over. You have awoken the Canadian/Canada Jr.(North Dakota, as the Canadian government seems to care about us more than the us government) Farmer. Edited last post. To be clear my farm/ranch, for the most part, is in ND, but I farm land in MT, MAN and Manitoba and Saskatchewan. I may seem defensive here but it is my main source of income, and I like doing it, but because of the "wonderful US Government" in the 80s("let's try to starve russia, because they won't buy elsewhere. Will they?") Has forced me to expand into other business and industries, such as a PC shop(that is mostly mail order) and building equipment. I assume that if your job, if you like it, was put under the same stress as mine, you would defense it too. Current temp. At midnight central time: -40 with a 35mph wind. Pickup battery dead again. Just bought it too.
  10. Agree, as long as its not like ethanol that ruins seals. "hey you want to go to the race tonight?" "yeah sure, I'll be you $10 that #12 sounds more like a vacuum cleaner than #89" "deal" there are quite a few races in the world with cars here where I live? nothing because the cops don't do much at -40f(just like electric cars) Methane. Not co2. I raise beef cows. Quit trying to make the ag world harder, We barely make it as it is. Just gotta love def and the government(or the def government). Isn't def mostly water? Also I see that our dumps won't take the jugs either, due to some toxin or something in them, so they get burnt. Real healthy. Electric cars. Essentially a fancy paperweight up here where we sit below 0f for 3 months and, as per usual, a blizzard will take large areas out of service for up to 2 months at times(electricity) how about this? I actually seen this demoed, looks promising. https://www.wday.com/news/4385567-local-invention-could-double-gas-mileage-your-vehicle Basically the engine runs a compressor, the tank gets up to capacity, fuel quits going to the engine, and it runs off of compressed air(that might have been another prototype) and you keep the acceleration and torque.
  11. I think of high end I think of Xeons/server grade, not i5s and i7s Except for the fact that there is no "apple enterprise" and I can guarantee you there are quite a few programs that don't have mac versions(like soildworks, an industry standard) or just run like crap on them(from experience"lets design on a mac, then render it" "why?!")
  12. I haven't watched him in a while and I can say he has really changed(seems more like an actor, you know unnatural, forced, (yes I know they are/want to be an 'Entertaiment' company, etc)) Thanks for them...
  13. Once again "value" is a matter of opinion. To some people macs don't fit into "high end"
  14. Gone are the days when people over engineered things to last for 40+ years, you know built to last.(want examples? ask) Also any manufacture that has tried to do that has ended badly-thus destroying the engine, I wouldn't as within 5 years I would need a new engine-that costs more than the vehicle itself.(also have examples) It depends-was the flaw or oversight on purpose or accident? Did the engineers do it or was it a bean counter?
  15. TheGleaner

    LTT Plate

now paint it pink with green stripes, so it'll match
  16. You can buy a nib z87 Mobo from my local shop for the low price of 899.99+ 5% state tax + another 2% local. It's the lowest model gaming mobo msi made for z87... "You should get (brand/product) because they're the best." "Oh? So how do you like(brand/product)?" "I don't have one"
  17. But if it is well know, which apple is, and most apple people claim it's the best, then shouldn't it be popular?(ya know, if it's as good as they claim, and very well known then shouldn't?) Then again they haven't actually innovatived in a while. So what's the opinion on the iphone there then?
  18. My point. From what I heard it was an entire batch. Different articles I guess, I read an entire batch. Also didn't they use the same mfg'er and a close relative to the note 8 battery?
  19. Well I might as well throw my hat into the ring, some points I thought up while reading:(sigh)(I DISLIKE NOT HATE apple, in my mind there is a difference) 1. The followers of apple: most(which is a lot) seem to call everything non apple (smartphone) Samsung. Samsung charger. Samsung cable. Now with apple's removal of the 1/8"/3.5mm jack, how long before it gets called the "Samsung jack"? 2. Yes both sides have poisonous followers 3. If they are so good like some of their people claim, why don't they have +80% of the market share like Microsoft does?(as in os) and iirc Samsung is beating them (11% to 22%) in the smartphone business. 4. Apple products seem to be a status symbol more than anything else. 5. "Revolutionary" things: removing something that's accepted as a almost industry wide stand is not, creating another competing standard is not, and claiming you invented stuff is not. 6. Isn't their "support" just give-you-a-new-one and don't let independent repair shops work on them? 7. Some people(apple) think Samsung is terrible and whatnot and they are superior, but Samsung is making $200? Dollars per apple device in component sales. 8. Every market apple is in they only service one end. Every other market has budget to super high end, most of the time from the same company. 9. 129.99+ shipping for a cheap(know from experience at school) rubber dome keyboard? 10. Simple not super high end stuff is priced at high end. 11. Apple has to do it first to not be "clunky" or "oversized"(see apple ip.+ and note reviews) 12. Apple being sue happy 13. What's the deal with emojis? 14. Apple started out as the "start a business in a garage and make a mil/bil-lion" American dream, but ends there 15. Here's the wall(sorta) of text someone asked for. 16. Apple had/has battery issues similar to the note 7 yet you don't hear about it. Just my thoughts and opinions so far. Probably will add/edit more or make another post.
  20. So I am lookign to get set up with a system, but I need cameras that can pan/tilt/zoom/etc I would prefer them to be POE, if such exists I am some what curious on the motion tracking and I would prefer it to record onto an existing, sitting in the closet doing nothing, computer and with remote monitoring Anyone know of one that meets these criteria? or comes close? Thanks I have came close but the reviews say other wise...maybe I am just missing 'the one'
  21. Anyone remember what delta fan has the highest rps and which one moves the most air?

Figured I would get a couple just for fun(or dusting)

  22. I mean I have 5 laying around, no screen for them to connect to.
  23. see second picture(if ebay would zoom...) I believe one of those pins you could jump to start it
