  1. I used to own a potato Windows 7 craptop. It didn't work to well for that sort of thing.
  2. I have 16GB of RAM and it's fine for me. It's decent enough to let me listen to music, watch Netflix and play Just Cause 3 at the same time. Not to mention I record while doing all of that. It uses up 90% but that's fine. I'd go with the SSD if you need it.
  3. http://www.eluktronics.com/w650kk1 Here is a decent laptop that can fit those needs.
  4. Probably takes more than 30 minutes to completely reinstall all the audio drivers after finding them on the appropriate websites. I know it took me 2 months to find my stupid Laptop drivers.
  5. So I'm going about my day when my ancient 250 GB starts to fail. I've never had any problems with it before until a week ago. It's starting to fail and I'm trying to clone over my drive. I lost my Windows Key so a reinstall is out of the question. I got a 120 GB SSD in the mail from a friend and I tried to clone it over using Ubuntu. I attempted to shrink the 250 GB Partition with the tool thing and that didn't work. I attempted to do the same thing in the Terminal and it didn't work. I got onto the internet so search it up and I found out about Clonezilla. Not reading the description I burned a CD and I attempted to clone. Apparently Clonezilla won't clone larger partitions onto smaller ones. My buddy told me Acronis was the way to go so I attempted to use that. I burned a CD and then when I tried to boot it the thing refused. I attempted to get back onto Windows and I found an error code. It wouldn't let me boot. I looked up the error code, punched some stuff into CMD and booted again to flip off Windows. I'm in a jam here because my drive may die in a few days time. I'm not wanting to purchase another Windows 10 key because I hate Microsoft. Reason? They hid the article I found because it was critical of them. It actually had the proper fix to it besides just "Using the boot fixing program" and it got the damned thing working again. Once again: HELP ME! My drives may die any moment now.
  6. Because I'm stubborn, I'm still set on a GT710. I know, you may be facepalming or something along the lines of that but I have problems with that. Our local goodwill sends all of the PC related things to the recycling depot. It sucks ass because they don't let us take cool stuff. I saw a 486 PC with a 5.25 inch floppy being taken and thrown into the scrap pile. My HDMI port doesn't work on my mobo after a clumsy family member ripped out the HDMI port while I was playing F-Zero on my emulator.
  7. The reason being, is because my iGPU doesn't output VGA. My ONLY monitor I have sitting around is a 4:3 VGA monitor. I also forgot to mention that it's a DVI-D and the adapters cost more than the GT 710 at my local store.
  8. So I have a GTX 1050 Ti in my PC, along with an i5 and an open PCIe 1x slot. It's 2.0 of course. I'm planning on buying a GT710 from Zotac to fill up that slot for a VGA port. I have an ancient monitor which I would love to put Task Manager or something up there along with something to monitor thermals while I'm gaming. I've already used up all 3 of my ports on the 1050 Ti and it's driving me mad to watch a Youtube video half sized with my Task Manager sitting there. So if I were to buy the card, how would I go about setting it up for that?
  9. I got my Big Package pass from LTX Con but I never learned how to get Floatplane club. Is there anything I can do to get it working?
  10. I have used different cables but this even happens when the monitor isn't being used by anything. Buttons don't do anything. Like I said earlier RMA isnt a thing because RCMP surplus.
  11. Try posting on the Unigine Forums. I can't tell you what's happening here.
  12. Dell AT101. Get one. Or a model M. Older keyboards are of much higher build quality than a lot of keyboards and they have better switches. (Such as buckling switches or ALPS) You can mod them with RGB if you are willing to work. Personally I'd never do that but yeah.
  13. And by hot I mean like 37 Celsius
  14. Another thing is the monitor is extremely hot in this area if that does anything. It may be the LCD I guess.
  15. I I can't RMA because this was an RCMP surplus monitor that I got for free.
