  1. Ps would love to see some pics of your rig to drool over!
  2. I think you can turn off the led through geforce experience if required. Still might be too shiny for you though! To be honest I have no idea why I got the bridge as my case is the 400q so completely enclosed and therefore I never see inside it!! Unfortunately my ocd couldn't cope knowing that the crappy flex bridge was inside! Lol
  3. So i received the EVGA SLI Bridge (Long = 60mm spacing) today and it fits like a charm.. photos below.... hope this info helps someone else in future!
  4. I see you went down the 2 x ssd route. I was torn between single and dual ssd but budget sadly came first! One thing I have noted since the build is that the 3200 ram I got potentially only runs at 2400 which is slightly irritating! Apparently it's to do with the mobo, so just goes to show I should have researched more!!
  5. Sorry guys, one more question! How come some have dual connectors and some only single? Currently the floppy bridge I have at the minute has dual connectors but the one I've ordered has only single? Do I have a problem?!
  6. No problem, as soon as it lands and I have time to install it I'll let you guys know. And thanks for the OC guides; not had chance to look at them yet but I'll be sure to pester you when I get round to misunderstanding them!
  7. this is my build FYI http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/qFJXXL
  8. well i ordered a Long EVGA bridge before I read all these recent comments!! I measured the gap with a tape measure and to my (rather poor) eye it looked like 60mm so hopefully it'll fit Im running a 5930K so have got my 980Ti's in slot 1 and 4 as per the above. Fingers crossed the bastard fits just out of interest done12many2 im assuming you've OC'd your rig? This was my first build so haven't dared do any overclocking but sounding like you've got a pretty similar setup so any advice you can point me towards would be greatly appreciated
  9. Many thanks for the advice, just what I was after
  10. So I've recently installed 2 x EVGA 980Ti's into an Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard and the SLI bridge that came with the mobo is one of the flexible type that look awful. Can anyone recommend a nice looking alternative? I'm not sure on compatibility - does any sli bridge work or do you have to be careful in spacing /manufacturer /spec etc? Thanks
  11. ive just finished building a 400Q with a H100i. I have an ASUS X99 deluxe 3.1 mobo in mine and though tight it does fit at the top just fine. I'd imagine it'll more depend on what mobo youre using rather than worrying about if the H100i fits at all (which it does fine!) HTH
  12. ok, so this (i think) is what ive settled on... http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/9Zbr99 It gives me ability to upgrade to SLI in future (hence the overkill PSU) and also add more memory later as required only thoughts at the moment are that chip only supports 16x PCi-E lanes so if I expand to 2 x 980Ti later on they will only run at 8x 8x ? is this correct and will performance even increase if that's the case? any thoughts appreciated
  13. Hi, I've got a new LG 34UC98 monitor coming and want to pair up with a nice keyboard/mouse combo I've looked at the Apple magic keyboard (i've always loved the look of apple peripherals) and like it (my mobo has bluetooth so that's my connection method) but am wondering how it'll stack up for game use (im not a big gamer, just occasional non-competitive use). I'd also like a nice looking mouse to complement the keyboard (again, nothing gamer-focused really, just comfortable) Any recommendations gladly appreciated
  14. workstation stuff is more hobbyist - main purpose will be gaming (im also hoping to utilise Steam Link as well in the house) i prefer the closed look (and quietness) of the 400Q. never been a fan of looking at internals of PCs to be honest!
