*edit* I actually got to watch the video when I got home, and its pretty rough. I've seen a few inaccuracies in LTT videos the last few months that were small, some GN didn't even show, obvious QA issues, but the kind of errors GN shows go beyond basic QA.

Everyone knows GN's the goat when it comes to actual data, LTT's forte into data is really secondary to the entertainment priority the channel has always had.

    GN's accusations are valid here.

    *another edit*
The response was well done in my opinion. corporate, but that's probably for the better. We'll see what the results are in their next videos, which'll be a solid week away for good reason.

So, LMG content is rushed, inaccurate and focus more on being "funny" rather than accurate?

I guess there's no news here lol

All this stuff is dumb and it’s a reason Linux will never be mainstream, it’s too segmented apart and everyone has different views on how it should work.

Hey, you want the ideal Linux software
management experience? Use flatpaks, wait no use snaps, wait no use appimages, wait no just use the Ubuntu software center, wait no use kde discover, wait no use mx software because it’s all of those things, wait no just manually add repositories and install software from them, wait no just buy your copy of libreoffice on a CD off of eBay and install it like that.

Its dumb, it’s why I stopped using Linux as much as I used to, it’s delegated to the meme lenowovo dankpad sex220 at this point because I straight up don’t trust it’s inconsistent and nonstandardized software.

I don’t care what a developer for KDE says, primarily because the only good thing to come out of the kde projects is Krita and that’s only because it’s furry bait and it’s better than gimp, which is a pretty low bar.

Plasma looks like windows 11 except there’s still traces of 2007 hiding in there like rounded bump shapes in and on everything.

This whole Linux challenge they’re doing isn’t going to help Linux by showing weak points to developers, Linux developers have 2-3 brain cells to share between them, they’ll just argue that their system is better and you’re not using it right.
What it’s going to do is show off flaws in Linux to the general public and all the years and years of white lies on its ease of use go out the window.

    This.
People think because they can do Windows they can use any OS, it's just not true.

Windows is Windows, Linux is Unix, it's not like going from Windows 7 to Windows 10, or Windows 10 to Windows Server, it's completely different. The same goes for Mac, Haiku, BSD... They are not Windows and the skills do not carry over the way you think they will. You are no longer an expert, in fact just the opposite, you know just enough to be dangerous.

Yea, and I can tell you this from personal experience, they still do need some work and polish round the edges. The inability to use link codes is bit annoying tho.
Also compared to the rather underpowered switich, the emulators do need pretty poweful hardware to run it well

Nintendo also mentioned it will invest heavily on their online infrastructure. They'll now upgrade their 56kbps modem with a state of the art 1Mbps broadband connection. They have also received new servers powered by Intel's latest Pentium II processors that they acquired from a liquidation sale of Tiger Electronics, Game.com game console (released in 1997), division.

I gave up on GNU/Linux a long time ago but about 3-4 years ago some guys over on Hardforum encouraged me to give it a try again. I started with a couple of live discs like Ubuntu, Fedora, and Linuxmint, but then went to Archlinux because I wanted to understand the install process from the ground up.

I've learned a lot over the past few years, and I've also learned GNU/Linux is great until you want to do something with it. You guys are in for either an interesting, fun learning opportunity, or an absolute nightmare if you're actually planning on doing things on it.

Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, just 'works'. And trying to fix something often leads down a rabbit hole that just ends with no solution.

And as you've already seen, the error messages you get will be even less help than Windows bluescreens.

I wish you guys the best but I have a feeling someone is going to cave really fast.

What does that mean? POP OS is an excellent OS overall, with really good community support. But even with that, it sucks POP OS is not ready to shine for mainstream consumers( same with linux as a whole). Before anyone says anything, i know servers run linux, i was talking more about consumer use at home.

I judge a OS by how normal users use it. You can't expect Joe to spend an hour reading through forums. Linux is a good OS to mess around but not ready to shine for most users, i wish devs would make more optimizations for mainstream users.

Intel’s Alder Lake is officially the 12th-gen Core CPU, and it has taken performance and efficiency in a dramatic new direction that AMD has yet to follow. Is this the start of a new processor golden age?
