  1. Would this be what I'm looking for? The most it will probably be used for is checking emails, storage, and maybe 3-5 browser tabs open. Along with an anti-virus, would the CPU be able to hold its own and not show noticeable signs of slow downs? https://www.amazon.com/Performance-Premium-Processor-SuperMulti-10-silver/dp/B01KAP7RJG/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1479133989&sr=1-4&refinements=p_n_feature_five_browse-bin%3A7817222011%2Cp_36%3A-35000%2Cp_n_condition-type%3A2224371011%2Cp_n_feature_four_browse-bin%3A2289794011|1264420011%2Cp_n_feature_two_browse-bin%3A562241011|5446812011|562240011
  2. I'm planning on getting a laptop, mostly for browsing the web and storage, no gaming, editing, bitcoin, or heavy calculations. Currently I'm looking at these two products http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-vivobook-x540sa-15-6-laptop-intel-pentium-4gb-memory-500gb-hard-drive-silver/5171001.p?skuId=5171001 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-110-15ibr-15-6-laptop-intel-celeron-4gb-memory-500gb-hard-drive-black-texture/5412748.p?skuId=5412748 If these two laptops are not good enough, some incite would be appreciated, e.g., CPU manufacturer, core count, core frequency, RAM amount, battery style. My budget is also $300.
  3. To me, it looks similar to the one from bestbuy.
  4. Any, I guess, but I probably won't need a $700 laptop just for checking email and going on facebook. Maybe - I'm just paranoid like that. I've been checking out chromebooks, and I think the lack of an internal HDD would be too confusing.
  5. I'll check them out, and I would prefer an external HDD. I'm not too keen on used products.
  6. I'm looking to get a laptop, no gaming, not for school. It'll mostly be for checking email, going on sites like facebook, and maybe some youtube or netflix, I also need it to have a fairly big HDD or be able to use an external HDD. I don't know anything about laptops or what it's specs should be for something non gaming related. There a couple of laptops I've seen that might help understand what I'm after.newegghttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1N8...bestbuyhttp://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-15-6-laptop-intel-core...Bestbuy is the only thing in my city that's a PC type of place. The laptop also needs to have wifi.
  7. Any input? I don't care too much how cheap it is, but I do care about how well made it is and the manufacture's customer support. I'll also have to fit two 4GB RAM sticks (1333 non-ECC, unbuffered), LG115 socket, PCIe wifi card (x1, I believe), one HDD - an SSD, if possible, and able to support a 970. It also has to be MicroATX board.
  8. The one I linked to is a microatx board and is 48.99. I'm not looking for cheapest, or the most expensive, I'm looking for a board that will last and the manufacture having good customer support.
  9. I have a pre-build HP desktop and I recently tried to upgrade the GPU and PSU. The GPU and PSU seem to work, on naother system, but when I try it on my system, it locks-up on the BIOS screen. My current mobo is from Pegatron Corporation Form Factor: uATX: 24.4 cm (9.6 inches) x 24.4 cm (9.6 inches) Chipset: Intel H61 Socket type: LGA 1155 Memory upgrade information Single channel memory architecture Two 240-pin DDR3 DIMM sockets Supports the following: PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066) PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered Supports 1 GB, 2 GB, and 4 GB DIMMs Supports up to 8 GB on 64-bit systems BIOS is version 7.16 from 10/5/2011 and there doesn't seem to be any updates since then. CPU is the i7-2600 with what looks like a stock heatsink. My RAM is two 4GB DDR3 sticks from Samsung part number M378B5273DH0-CH9 The GPU I go to upgrade is the Asus GTX 970 Mini and the PSU is the SeaSonic S12II 80+ Bronze 520W. Someone suggested to me this mobo and I would like to know if it would work with my parts. If further information is needed, I will do my best to provide all I can.
  10. I've purchased the 970 and seasonic. thanks for all the help and information.
  11. You didn't put a site up, but I'm guessing you mean Game Debate or these forums.
  12. I plan on playing TERA, Battlefield 4, Fallout 4 (maybe with texture packs), The division,Hitman, Far cry 4/Primal, Dying Light, and maybe Blade and Soul along with Black Desert Online. In 1080p with 45+ fps on maybe high. This is not counting games 2 to 3 years from now, like the new Battlefield being rumored around.
  13. Would the compact 970 be a gimped version of the 970? I believe the dimensions on my PSU is 4.5 inches/144mm height, 6.5 inches/165mm width, and 5.5 inches/139mm long. According to newegg, the PSU is 86x140x150 - this would be a misfit? @TITANB I plan on using the GPU for the next 2 to 3 years playing 1080P on maybe high settings with 45+ fps.
  14. After messaging someone for some time, this is what parts came up http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QYkhWZ I would like to know if these parts and manufactures would be a good choice.
  15. @papapoi I don't want to buy used and my motherboard only has one pci slot, aside from one smaller one that the wifi card uses. My motherboard has these pcie One PCI Express x16 (Gen2.0) Three PCI Express x1 (Gen2.0) One PCI Express Mini Card x1 My monitor uses DVI-D single link. There's some thing on the motherboard that would obstruct the GPU, it's about half an inch down the the pcie lane.
