  1. im using the asrock 990fx extreme9. i dont know why its showing that voltage. in bios im @1.452vcore. i may try and lower it here in a few to see if i can make it stable at a lower voltage...
  2. heyya, im currently at a stable 5ghz with my fx6300 (have an 8350, but i noticed a slight fps increase in games with th 6300), and i was wanting to know if after about an hour of p95 blend tests, 69c temps are good? im using a corsair h100iv2 cooler.... running a new profile with the pump and fans running at max during these tests.
  3. ive been a member of uplay since...well, its been a long time lol. its not a game key, but an invite to the closed alpha.
  4. for sure! trying to get back into my uplay now
  5. i have 3 invites left for the closed alpha, if youre interested hmu @ anonymousschris on uplay. you must be my friend for me to send the invite to you!
  6. i did, ive also got 3 extra invites for it...in case any want to try it out with me
  7. ok, you say that it lets you go to bios, right? if im correct, (youve prolly already done this) boot from....wait, you said it doesnt have a CD-ROM drive? what are you using, a bootable iso?
  8. NICE! i love learning something new. i was wondering why my my cpu temps were hitting 8c during idle. lol (so many fans, and the h100i v2)
  9. What about components that done have a cooler on them? like the resistors on the mainboard and things like that? does this mean that as long as im not OC'ng, i can just use the stock cpu cooler and the stock gpu cooler, sin chassis fans?
  10. hmm, i will def take a min to watch that here in a few. thank you. But lets say for example, you have a HDD bay in front of your front intake fans. logically, being that there is an obstruction in the way, the air cannot move in the path of least resistance, making it harder to cool vrms and expel hot air. i would think that if you had a JUMBLE of cables that looked like "poison ivy" from batman lived in the rig, there would be an obstruction that would lead to at least a few degrees in temp difference. Im not arguing, just thinking, friend.
  11. are you running the free or paid version of speccy? not that i would know the difference between the two because ive never used it, but i seen it has a few extras that come with the paid version. Personally, for me, i use CPUID. Although ive been told that its a reliable program, i still use my corsair link program for myliquid cooler, and it tells me a different temp than what CPUID does. im not saying that speccy isnt reliable, mainly because your game should freeze whether or not speccy is installed. well, it SHOULDNT be freezing, but the no monitor program should have an affect on your game freezes
  12. haha, completely understandable. what program are you using to monitor your temperatures with?
  13. i meant fins, not find lol
  14. Agreed. OP, like i said before, if youre not OC'ng your cpu (at least with intel) your stock cooler should be sufficient. but taking a microfiber cloth and some 99% propylene alcohol to the plate and reapplying some thermal grease should help. possibly. at least it wont hurt it. For sure dust everything out...including the find on that cooler
  15. if he looks at his rig, and says "maybe i should clean those cables up", then its prolly bad enough that it could be blocking airflow throughout. maybe?
  16. well, unless your OC'ng your cpu, that stock cooler should suffice (depending on whether or not you have adequate airflow to disperse the heat being radiated by the cooler). To answer your question about whether or not you should clean you rig up, and remove dust and what not....YES! if you think you can remove your stock cooler, and blow through the aluminum heat sync, and chunks of dust fly off.....YES!!
  17. hmmm, i really dont know why i took what OP said the way i did. for some reason, in my mind i seen him/her running vm's for minecraft
  18. the corsair h100i v2 works VERY well for mine. i also use a Sapphire radeon r9 290 Vapor-X 4gb OC gpu, and she still runs top notch.
  19. Id just like to say that i wast sure if this should go in the audio thread, being that i think it has something to do with my MOBO specifically, not an add-on audio card. To my problem: so for the past few weeks, ive not been able to use either my front panel audio outs, nor my rear outs. whenever i insert the plugs into the corresponding jacks, hd audio manager seems confused as to which jack ive actually plugged them into. For example: if i were to plug the green plug from my amplifier into my rear jacks, it may show that ive plugged it in, but also that ive plugged in a mic-in, and side speakers. OR it may show that ive plugged in a rear, and center. its random almost every time. The same with my front jacks. If anyone can provide me with ANY help at all, i would greatly appreciate it. If you need screen shots or more info, dont hesitate to ask
