Hi everyone, I have bought an i5 7600k + Noctua DH15 (4.8GHz clock) in late 2017. Recently I have upgraded my monitor to a 34" Ultra Wide 3440x1440 100Hz Display. I realized quickly that my 1060 wouldn't cut it so I went and bought an RTX 2080 (A1, Arctic Accelero Xtreme 4 custom cooling). Games I play: Battlefield 5 soon: Red Dead Redemption 2 (PC) I often buy Blu Rays and rip / encode them to x265 (Handbrake CPU) for my plex server. Question: Does it make sense to upgrade the 7600k already? GamersNexus says that RDR2 runs very crappy on 7600k and overall is the CPU bottlenecking the 2080 very heavily? Possible shopping list for Black Friday: Ryzen 3600 (with the Noctua DH15 should do the same as the 3600x) (or does it make sense to go bigger to 3700? Linus and Steve Burke say that RAM with Ryzen 3000 is tricky, any suggestions? OR am I just overthinking this and should stay with the 7600k? Hi guys, greetings from Germany. I am a German native speaker (and English teacher) so I hope to provide some insights into the German article: 1. Heise is a generally trusted source that does not take part in gossip (as far as I see it) - full disclosure: I have a subscription to their PC magazine. 2. In their article they state that their legal team worked through the NDA and as far as they see it, it's a gag order. (translation of the reaction of the legal team when they read the NDA: "They through their hands up in horror"). 3. One of the things that the legal team refers to is §3: "Recipients shall use Confidential Information solely for the benefit of NVIDIA and shall not: (a)..." - for them the 'and' seems to do the trick. 4. The described time frame of 5 years - in their eyes - signifies that they are not allowed to criticize products for up to 5 years - or even in perpetuity (if it could be classified as a trade secret). I think they stress the point that a "trade secret" is a stretchable term. 5. The publisher received the NDA on June 20th and was asked to have signed it by June 22nd at the latest - this also tingled their spidy senses I hope that I could shed some light on the matter. I remember Linus mentioning sth like that in one of his latest videos but than there was a correction later on as an overlay, so I am not sure which board / xeon combo fits best

As I said it will be a pure video editing rig. I picked the 1080 because of its CUDA count.

Thanks guys, you're awesome! I must admit I haven't yet thought about xeons because I shied away from server boards for prosumers. Is it worth to sacrifice CUDA cores for CPU cores in Adobe Premiere / Media Encoder? I honestly don't know. best wishes

Do you guys agree with my choice of monitor: Asus PB287Q 28.0 Or would you recommend another 4k display? As I said video editing is going to be its only job so Adobe SRGB would be great

Well I also included a WD Black 4TB because I am not sure about his NAS strategy. His employer seems very naive. Up until now they have only hard copies on Blu Ray

Is Corsair a good choice of brand or do you recommend sth else?

Do you have any suggestions concerning a suitable motherboard for the 6800k? PCpartPicker gives me a compatibility warning telling me that all the boards need a bios update (with another CPU) in order to work with the 6800k

I am thankful for any suggestions. I thought 750W should be sufficient and Corsair CXM sounded like a good option. Do you have a better recommendation?
