  1. This is very inconvenient timing, but about 30 seconds after hitting post, windows update seems to have found it. I didn't think about windows update since I just made this windows install USB and didn't think windows would update anything. So lesson learned... be patient and update everything!!
  2. Hi all! I just got an old MSI Vortex G25 8RE for a friend of mine. Brand new I don't think it had ever been out of box. The GPU is not being detected by a brand new fresh install of Windows 10. It appears to be detected in BIOS (which was updated to the latest available on MSI's website). Device manager doesn't show any yellow marks and doesn't show the GPU and the driver (that I got from the MSI website) does not detect it either. I have restarted multiple times, set BIOS back to defaults, and tried searching for any BIOS settings that would cause this. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
  3. Thanks for the help!! I'll get a new riser cable along with it.
  4. Hi all, I'm upgrading my Phanteks Enthoo Luxe 2 / 719. Phanteks makes a vertical GPU mount which I will likely use for the system. First question, is the Phanteks vertical GPU kit a gen 4 riser cable? It's not specified on their website. Also, looking at the pictures of the vertical GPU kit, it looks like the top slot is still open and could still be used. I do have an elgato 4k60 pro capture card that I want to keep in my system. If I put it in the top slot (which I usually use as the primary slot) would it take away PCIe lanes from the second slot where I could put the riser cable even if the capture card doesn't use all 16 lanes? My motherboard will be the ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero. CPU will be the 5800x if that's needed information. Thanks guys! Dave
  5. I have been using my Sony WH-1000XM3s for 6-14 hours per day for nearly two years and even with glasses I have no complaints with them. With the XM4s coming out you should be able to get them for about $250 in some places. But still a $350 headset on amazon. If paying that price, get the XM4s.
  6. Hi all!! Just purchased a new Samsung with HDR10+ support. Due to my setup, I have an HDMI switcher and an HDMI splitter. If the switcher/splitter supports HDR (which is advertised to do so) will it also support HDR10+? I'm not certain if the level of HDR is signal based or display based. Thanks in advance
  7. https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-quantum-vector-rtx-re-ti-d-rgb-nickel-plexi Quoted from the description: "This product is also compatible with the reference NVIDIA GeForce RTX SUPER cards." And yes, you can put your pump in the bottom of your case, just be sure your res is directly feeding into your pump inlet, this will ensure your pump never runs dry.
  8. What kinda water cooling are you doing?
  9. Thanks for that advice!! I think I'll do that.
  10. Hi everyone. I am about to go under a full water cool. So I will be immediately water cooling 3 GPUs, and have a 480 and 360 rads. I will be adding Threadripper 3000 when that is launched later this year (?). I will be building in the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe 2 for those wondering. I was hoping someone could give me some advice on what pump or pumps to get. I don't know if I need one or two pumps or DDC or D5 pumps. I was planning on getting a dual D5 setup until I saw a video of someone building in the same case, with even more water cooling and from the looks of it, they used a single D5. Any help is appreciated!
  11. Thank you for the input. I did indeed also post this question over there at the same time I did here. Just waiting for a reply on that thread over there.
  12. Hey everyone,I recently received my Lulzbot TAZ Dual Extruder V3 (DE for the rest of the post) upgrade for my TAZ 5 and had a few questions:I want to print Carbon Fiber filament with my TAZ 5 and bought two hardened steel nozzles to replace the default ones.Is it possible to replace the nozzles on the DE?If so, how would I ensure that both nozzles are level with each other?I do already have both hardened steel nozzles so would it be worth it to replace both nozzles? With the second extruder being only for support and less abrasive materials I don't know if the hardened steel would be worth it to replace the default nozzle. Or should I save it to replace the primary extruder when the first one wears down? Do note, I already have both nozzles. Thanks for any help,David K.
