  1. On modern versions of Android does factory resetting your phone still offer noticeable performance benefits? I have a Samsung galaxy s7 which I have owned for about a year and a half. I have updated it from Android 6 to 7 to 8. I have never factory reset the phone. Will I see any noticeable performance increase from a factory reset? Is it worth it?
  2. Hello, I am going to be setting up a nextcloud server and a minecraft server. I was wondering if it is possible to run these applications on the same computer or if I will need separate ones. My operating system will be Ubuntu server 16.04 and I will likely be using an HP Compaq Pro 6300 or a computer of similar specks. Thanks for the help.
  3. To start this off, I have very little knowledge about setting up servers, so sorry if I don't understand the basics. I am wondering if my plan in setting up an Owncloud server which I can access when away from home will work or not. My goal is to have a server which has my photos/videos/movies stored on it, and I can access from anywhere. I plan to use an HP Compaq Pro 6300 as the computer to run it off of (I don't need things like ecc ram because I will have almost daily access to this server to fix it if something fails and am on a smaller budget). I will be using a WD red 6tb as the HDD that it is running off of. I plan to use Linux Ubuntu Server 16.04 as my operating system. I will be following the guides linked below on how to setup the operating system and Owncloud. The server will be on a residential Comcast internet connection, and I am just using the standard router that comes from Comcast. Is there anything that will not work in this plan? Will I have a server which I can access from any computer/phone on a different network? Thanks for the help!
  4. I was wondering if there is a limit to the maximum hard drive size I can use in a HP Compaq Pro 6300. I want to install a WD Red 6tb, but am not sure if I will be able to access it entire size. Is there any limit, and if there is what is it? How can I find what the limit is on other computers? My operating system will be Linux Ubuntu Server 16.04 if that helps.
  5. A windows 98 pentium 3 computer, the install disc for windows 98, old mouse, and an IDE cd drive
  6. I just posted a screenshot in this thread, it is showing as activated in settings.
  7. I recently installed Windows 10 Pro on my laptop. I skipped entering the activation key when installing because I was reusing my Windows 10 Pro install drive I used on my desktop, and didn't have a new key. After doing all of the Windows updates I noticed that my windows was activated on my laptop, when it wasn't before. I am signed into the same Microsoft account on each computer and I am wondering if it somehow transferred the activation key. I don't have access to the other computer currently (I am on vacation) and I am wondering if windows is activated on both computers or if the activation transferred to the laptop and the desktop is no longer activated. If so is it possible to switch the activation back to the desktop? Thanks for the help.
  8. I bought my motherbord from asus before I knew about how bad their support was. Just praying it dosent give me any problems now lol.
  9. Ive read that windows 10 has a program built in that can create a raid. Would it be possible to partition the drive I will be using as a backup into 3 parts, one for each drive I will be backing up. Then setup 3 different raids, one between each drive I am backing up and each partition I will be backing up to?
  10. I am looking for something that can mirror the drives so if one of my drives failed, I could go back to exactly how the system was at the last backup.
  11. I really dont know much about backups, whats the difference?
