  1. i don't see the point in 240hz to be honest
  2. The LG 27GL850 looks really great, but it's already about a year old. Are there any alternatives I should look at before buying? The specs are pretty much what I'm looking for.
  3. I don't really mind doing the install. What I'm not sure about is the stability and reliability of a custom rom. I'm also scared it will slip out of my hand a lot because of the glass back.. If I install a custom rom there isn't really any reason to go for the 3a XL except the camera?
  4. Hello, I really like the design of the Pixel 3a XL but I'm not sure If it's better to go with Xiaomi? I'm not that comfortable with MIUI, are there good ways to flash a custom rom onto the Xiaomi? How is it with LineageOS? Or would it be better to just go with the 3a XL? If it doesn't lag in everyday use I care more about pictures than raw performance, so that's also why a Pixel would be better?
  5. Most people could do all their day-to-day stuff on 500$ computers or 200$ phones but just as a status symbol they buy devices for much more like iPhones and 3k gaming rigs. it's an incredible waste of money and resources
  6. Only the dns resolution is affected, your connection to the servers stays the same so you will still get the speed you are used to.
  7. How are your thermals? The system might be throttling.
  8. I don't see that much value in getting to 144fps. Of course the more fps the better, but to be honest in most games just getting above 60 is fine with me. Especially single player games.
  9. I'm not sure this is the right place to post this but here I go.. What are you doing with your old rigs? Sell them? Dump them? Or maybe use them as a minecraft server? If you sell them or dump them, do you keep some components? I was thinking of getting a new computer around next year so I can use my old one as a linux server to run stuff on. I guess I'll reuse the SSD for the new build.
  10. I still can't see a reason to upgrade from my 1070, even on 1440p.
  11. If he ever wants another, newer game to run on it I wanted it to be good enough. I got the 1200 budget, so I threw in the 2060. Was not sure about the case, I liked the R5 so I just picked that one.
  12. A 2.5" SSD is only about 10$ cheaper for me, is that worth it? What manufacturer do you recommend?
  13. I'm not a fan of a second hard drive, even though I know it's better value. I don't trust the kid to install his stuff on the right drive, he's around 9 and I don't really know him. Thanks though.
  14. Hey, what do you think about this build? It's for 1080p gaming (mostly fortnite) and budget is around 1000-1200 US$ CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B350-F Storage: Samsung SSD EVO 1TB m.2 RAM: Corsair Vengance LPX 2x8GB GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2060 Windforce OC 6G Case: Fractal Define R6 Black PSU: be quiet!
