For that use case an APU and SSD, would probably be a better bet.

Gas right now is $0.96/L. Filling my Avalanche doesn't get me far though even with gas being cheap it's still expensive. Still crazy filling a 120 liter tank bare minimum every 550KM.

I have diagnosed GAD. What i usually do in during a panic attack is try to rationalize. What i do is try to think of the odds. Like for instance i'll go through things in my heads. For example i'm driving down the highway, how high are the odds that i'll die in a car crash? Slim to none right? So think of it like that maybe. Think to yourself what are the actual odds of you dying in a dark room? Highly slim to none. Just take a deep breathe. It'll pass.

I'm not really willing to fork out 900$ on a 1440 144hz monitor right now... I have about 800$ I'm willing to spend now, and then like another $800 in 2-3 weeks.

Defragging might help. But you're also using what I assume to be a 5400RPM drive. Which will be slow no matter what.

Everyone has their personal preference. So what's the point of this post? Plus your hard drive decisions... Litterally those two companies make like 95% of all HDD's due to their subsidiary companies.

If you look at the last time our dollar took a tumble. I doubt it's going to come back before the video card you're looking at will be obsolete. I'd suggest just sucking it up. It is what it is and there's nothing you or I can do about it.

The Canadian dollar is also very weak right now. As well us Canadians have always had higher prices.
