My Fan is LONGER than YOUR Fan - Meshless AIO SFF by Meshless Design
JCHelios replied to AdamFromLTT's topic in LTT Releases
I was going to say, Asus would've been better off going with the "Porn for Gamers" slogan. -
I feel like he "brought up that caveat" by installing LineageOS on the Note 5 he tested. Could've dwelled on it more, of course.

"Never" in this poll should have been separated out into "Never, because I don't want to" and "Never, because my GPU doesn't support ray tracing." (@Cardoso there gets it!) It's important because those two answers point in opposite directions: People who don't care about RT features can focus purely on rasterization, and would be just as happy with AMD cards. But to the extent that people are still using old pre-RT cards... which, as you pointed out by citing the Steam Hardware Survey, is substantially the case... then they could be champing at the bit to turn on RT just as soon as they upgrade, and would want a card that can do that well (i.e., Nvidia). With that having been said, I certainly l agree with the larger point, which I take to be along the lines of "Hey, remember when the GTX 970 was $329? Wasn't that great?!" Heck yeah it was. Requiescat in pace, attractively-priced 70-class cards.

Hold up... In other words, "Despite the fact that it's sponsored, I won't fail to tell you if it's perfect." Linus trying to pull a fast one on us, I see!

I'll give you 7,258,046 ("Screwdriver bit cartridge retainer"), which expires in 2025. But 5,265,504 ("Cartridge type screwdriver") expired in 2012! You aren't "using a patent" if it's public domain. You'll make people think that they can't build their own cartridge-type screwdriver. ...Which, as we know from the video, is actually super quick and easy. ('Grats on finishing the project, y'all.)

Linus, if this guy uses your engineering department to build a doomsday weapon and conquer/destroy the world, then that's on you, buddy.

Summary Playing an encrypted 4K (UHD) Blu-ray on a computer in a legally unambiguous way seems to require a hardware-level DRM scheme, which in practice means Intel's SGX (Software Guard Extensions). But SGX is not included in 11th- and 12th-gen Intel processors (as well as all AMD processors). From Intel's Alder Lake SDP page ( added) : This has caused Cyberlink to clarify in PowerDVD's FAQ that: Cyberlink even goes so far as to caution against upgrading your OS and drivers! The article in Bleeping Computer notes that SGX was deprecated because of all its security vulnerabilities: Internet commenter Beammeup5 persuasively clarifies that while PowerDVD is "one of the very few officially authorized software vendors for encrypted UHD disc playback," it's still possible to play an encrypted UHD Blu-ray disc on PC, if you use a decryption solution that's presumably not officially authorized (emphasis mine) : My thoughts Narrowly, this whole debacle shows that Linus is right to rip his Blu-rays to hard disc: If computers can't play modern Blu-rays without gray-market solutions, then why not just use a gray-market solution to rip them to a more convenient, future-proof format? More broadly, I have to imagine that this augers poorly for the future of Blu-ray specifically, and physical media generally. Media companies' inability to work with tech companies to preserve compatibility comes off as a huge vote-of-no-confidence in their own ecosystem. Oh, and — at the risk of stating the obvious — don't follow Cyberlink's advice to avoid upgrading your OS and drivers, unless your computer is air-gapped from the Internet! I was about to comment that that intro would win the award for Most Editing.

It's bound to be a variation of this: That must've been super awkward, since the video's sponsor paid an insane $27.7 BILLION to acquire one of Discord's competitors!

Phew, crisis averted. Actually, the Internet tells me that the thing we want here is a "phonetic pangram," which attempts to use all the English phonemes. For example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangram#Phonetic_pangrams

Since the quick brown fox "jumped" over the lazy dog, I have no idea how these microphones and acoustic panels handle the letter "s." James, please get Linus to re-shoot this video to address the vital question of what the room sounds like when the fox "jumps" over the dog.

You should've turned the power supply around so that the PSU could work as an exhaust for the 3080's passthrough cooling fan. Ten-year PSU warranty, so why not?? I bet the video's sponsor, Seasonic would've looooooooved that! -

Shoulda tested the two-in-one's webcam in tent mode.

Credit where's it's due: Anthony says this in the video, at the very end.

It's not the same price now, but I bought the ASUS VivoBook 15.6" for $250 at Christmas. Comparisons: Bigger (duh) Numpad DUAL-CHANNEL MEMORY (4GB soldered to the board and 1 empty slot. I upgraded, and CPU-Z confirmed it running in dual-channel mode.) A more legible backlit keyboard The same hardware specs generally (CPU, RAM, SSD size) Possibly an even worse screen (not even IPS) No ethernet port Plastic ? Fingerprint reader instead of IR camera (I prefer it, but tastes vary.) ? Still plenty of lightbleed on the backlit keyboard ? MicroSD card slot rather than full SD https://www.walmart.com/ip/ASUS-VivoBook-15-6-FHD-Display-AMD-Ryzen-3-3200U-4GB-DDR4-128GB-SSD-Windows-10-Home-in-S-mode-Slate-Gray-F512DA-WH31/700011839

I swear, I thought this name was already taken by one of your major competitors. Not quite, though: https://www.theverge.com/2016/4/25/11498606/circuit-breaker-gadget-blog-announced-the-verge
