Yeah the A8 (at least when I followed stuff more closely) was basically the set-your-house-on-fire option, not a great rep, but having four of them break... talk about an unfortunate stroke of bad luck.
I've had my CR10-S for 4 years now and the most actual work I've done besides building it, is upgrading the hot end. Apart from that it's just replacing nozzles and tramming the bed, which is all but inevitable. That's why I commented on auto bed leveling. They're only meant to accomodate small imperfections like a warped bed or some change in tramming due to thermal expansion/contraction from a change in environmental temperature and not to completely replace manual tramming.

Hosting project files for after effects without them being stored locally would be incredibly slow requiring every asset to be redownloaded to ram every time the program is opened and then lost when the program is closed

I did a lot of my own looking on amazon (i know it isnt ideal) and the xm8500 wasnt on there but I found the shure pga48 for $34 and chose the option to bundle an XLR cable for $39. Anyway the final total with this setup is about $100 and I wanted to get your opinions before ordering it.

Part from it being a older android phone it is still a fully functional device. Do keep in mind battery life was never good and on a degraded battery like that will be quite terrible. So do think about replacing that. It will still be pretty darn usable since a snapdragon 808 is still a pretty strong mobile cpu and 3gb of ram is fine especially with an older android version.

You can also see if you like the sliding thing because for most people it does turn into a gimmic after a while.

Oh and the first big comment here in reddit does make the phone a LOT better.

ok so the passthrough output is optional. that was my question pretty much. You don't have to have something on the passthrough end. Thank you, sorry for wording that so poorly!

So your capture card has a (usually HDMI) input and output. though your input you connect the device that you would, well, like to capture. and then on the output side you can connect a seperate monitor to see, what is getting captured or just pass the captured signal either via USB or PCie to your computer and stream it on twitch and others.

sorry to ping you, but I was wondering if you knew anything about the second part of my post? If a capture card would work if my monitor is connected through DVI and the capture card was connected to the hdmi port on my gpu. Would it just show up as another monitor that i drag the window over too or will it not work without a splitter or passthrough on the same hdmi port.

Yeah that makes sense. I also looked into NDI after writing this but I couldn't really get that to work either. Thanks for the advice!

Fo this price it will be almost impossible to find something that fits your needs and even if you do the quality will probably be quite bad. So my advice would be to save some money and get something nice like the different capture options from Elgato

The 1080 ti blows a 1660 Super out of the water, but since used 1080 ti's are still selling for ~$500 (€409) on eBay, I would be highly skeptical of finding fully functional ones for so little.

Legolessed reacted to Light-Yagami in 10875H breaks 10k pts barrier in Cinebench R23
    Hello everyone,

During my testing, I've discovered a way to trick the system to always run high power, instead of complying with integrated PL1 and PL2 limits.
System tested: Dell XPS 9700 (modified, repasted with liquid metal, cooling pad also used)
    System characteristics: PL2 - 135W, PL1 75W

Warning: please don't do this to your system.. If you want this sort of performance, just get the new AMD 5000 series.

    How to break PL system:
In XTU, max out the turbo power boost duration slider, disable PL2. Set PL1 to 135W -> apply
Leave window open, you'll need it during CB run.

Open and start Cinebench run. System will draw around 120W, but eventually reach Tmax and settle at around 100-103W (that's what my system can sustain). After a while (run lasts 10min), system will try to hard reset PL1 to 75W. When that happens, simply reapply XTU settings (prepare by settings power to 135.25, having cursor ready on apply button). Repeat the process if need be. If the system is allowed to draw 100W on the CPU for the whole duration of the run, it will cross the 10k pts barrier. Here's the screenshot.

If you leave the system to run it's normal course, it'll score in the mid 9000s.

That's all I have for you. Too bad there's no undervolt support, should be possible to achieve much better results if there was a way to reduce power draw.

It sounds like a ram problem, but it would be very easy to check yourself to see if all of your ram is being used.

you can turn off uac, but thats a huge security risk.

For file permissions you can give your accounts ful access to most files(some system files it won't let you touch when in use), but you really shouldn't need to do this, and this is anouther big security risk.

    > Put some money away for a rainy day. The rain will come again, and there may or may not be stimulus then. Dropping $4K into something that's going to be nearly worthless in 5-10 years isn't a wise financial decision. If you must upgrade, you could temper it back to half the price, and still have a nice setup.
