  1. I decided to go with the black and white computer build because it just looks classy. Also i did further research and decided on changing the case fans to the Phanteks PH-F140XP_BK 140mm PWM. I am just going to get two of those (one on top and one as exhaust). Then i am going to get a big 200mm version as intake in the front. I will also be swapping out the CPU fan for a PH-F120MP . It may or may not be as good as the be quiet fans, but I think the white and black aesthetics will fit with the theme much better. Might also just get white and black custom cables instead of just all white. Thanks for the help!
  2. Choosing how I want my computer to look has been the hardest decision for me right now. It is the hardest decision because my last computer build was an utter mess when it came to color coordinating. Now that I learned my lesson, I want something pretty: All Black or Black and White. "Black on Black" Motherboard: MSI Pro Series Intel Z270 CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock 3 Ram: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (4x4GB) Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW2 Fans: be quiet! Silent Wings 3 pwm Black and White Motherboard: MSI Z270 SLI PLUS CPU Cooler: Same as above Ram:G.Skill Trident Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) Graphics Card: Same as above Fans: Same as above -------------------------------------------- Not much different in the hardware department except for the ram and motherboard. These have minor white accents. But what would really set these apart is that if I go with the black and white build every single cable in the case will be all white (Cable Mod cables). And for the case it will be the Enthoo Pro (Black) because I love it. The only thing I am really worried about is getting RGB leds, which I really want. I am afraid that if I go with the all black build nothing will pop or stand out. Whereas the white and black one might stand out a little more. So what do I like? The all black idea. But then again I sure do like that black and white ram. What do you guys like? And please tell me about other parts that will go well with these builds.
  3. I too was looking for a pair of speakers recently and chose to go with the Audioengine 2+ and paired it with the Polk Audio PSW10 subwoofer. Now the speakers alone are great but are lacking somewhat in the low-end. Added the subwoofer and the speakers really showed their true potential. I like the setup a lot and music sounds great and so does gaming. Just remember when buying the subwoofer you need to buy the RCA cable because it does not come with one. All together this is around 350 dollars, so it fits your budget nicely.
  4. I am in a dilemma like some of the people coming here to figure out what type of drive to use for gaming. I don't have a ton of games on my current drive (WD Blue 1TB), but the few I have exceed 20gb (GTA V, SWB, BF1, Witcher 3). I have done a lot of research into the NVMe M.2 and SATA SSD stuff (Including the video Linus JUST released today 1/22/17), but for the life of me can not decide on what to get. I have a budget of about $500 to spend on a new drive as mine is making a lot of strange noises. I really just need to get the best performance, storage size and life expectancy out of it for my money. This is mainly going to be used for all my storage needs except being used for a boot drive as I have a tiny 128GB SSD for that. I looked into maybe getting a SATA SSD because they are pretty low cost for the amount of storage they offer and performance. Then I said maybe get an m.2 drive for the higher performance, and somewhat low cost of storage options. I then read somewhere I will never really notice that type of performance in real world applications. Some of the M.2 drives I looked at was the Intel 600p 1TB, Samsung 960 EVO 1TB, Samsung 960 PRO 512GB, and the soon to be released WD Black PCIe SSD 512GB. The only SATA option I looked at was the Samsung 950 EVO 1TB, as it had good reviews and performance. I need this drive for gaming and general storage. So the drive needs to be 1tb at most for "future proofing". So what do you guys use and recommend I look into more? I want to go the m.2 route more but I am willing to try a SATA drive if it is going to save me some of my money. Performance, Reliability, and Longevity are what I need.
  5. Okay so like many of said, I should just sell it. Selling it would be great to get some of the money I spent on it, but I have a feeling I will need it again. Other people said I should use it to experiment with Linux. I might do just that because I have no clue what Linux really is. I guess I am going to just have to use it a little every other day so I don't have buyers remorse. Thanks for the advice everyone!
  6. Let me explain: I purchased a laptop a while ago for a project I was working on. The project is done and now I have this overly expensive laptop (Dell XPS 15) that I am not using a lot because I already have a gaming computer. My lifestyle is more homebound, so I'm not out of the house often. I have a phone, TV and so on. So my question is basically how would you use a very expensive laptop when you don't even need it? I don't want it to just sit here.
