  1. Ok ok, I should have stated that I know my PC never could've hit 255C. My problem is the lag spike that comes along with it. What can be the problem? Overheating VRM? Socket? Bad PSU? Also, AMD overdrive reports temps like 10C at idle, and -10 under load...
  2. Specs: AMD FX6300 (Stock cooled) Mobo: MSI 760 GM P-23(FX) GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 750ti PSU: XFX TS450 before I got my new case and PSU, my CPU kept hitting 255C (says HWmonitor64) in games. Which brought CPU throttling and massive fps drops along with it. Now I enabled AMD Cool N Quiet and I ran 3DMark FireStrike (only a score of 4000+ dont laugh) and played BF4 for an hour. Now my CPU jumped around between a frosty 39-38C with the maximum being 41.1C. Is my problem finally solved?
  3. I asked on another forum, and he said that I should replace my PSU, What should I believe?
  4. Replacing the motherboard costs me (I also want a new case) around 160. Getting new fans + case costs me just under 100.
  5. What do you think is the best bet? Buying new fans or a new PSU? Since buying a new PSU is 20 euros more expensive.
  6. Thanks on the quick reply's. But is my VRM overheating problem really the PSU's fault? I actually wanted to buy a new case with 3 fans and see if that helps.
  7. Ah. Stupid of me. CPU: AMD FX-6300 GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 750TI Motherboard: MSI 760GM-P23(FX) a non branded HDD & SSD. A Sound Card. Currently I have a 420 Watt PSU
  8. As the title says, My VRM keeps overheating for some reason, And I think the PSU or the motherboard is the cause. I really don't want to pay more than 60 euro's for a PSU. I was thinking about this one: http://www.processorstore.nl/product/209619/category-212197/corsair-builder-cx430.html Is this a good PSU? Thanks in advance!
  9. No, It's just false info. My CPU isn't fried, it barely even hit 70C. Also, Don't AMD CPU's shut the PC down when the CPU hit's 100C? I actually want red LED fans since my case is red.
  10. Dear LTT community, I have a MSI 760GM-P23(FX) motherboard (AM3+) with a AMD FX-6300. I've run into some problems with my CPU spiking up to (as HWINFO64 says) 200 C. I asked on some forums and found out that my motherboard VRM's are overheating. Now I think I have 2 options: 1) Buy a new Motherboard. ( I wanted to buy a MSI 970 GAMING http://www.processorstore.nl/product/667349/msi-970-gaming.html ) 2) More case fans ( I'm going to buy this case http://www.processorstore.nl/product/451871/category-212273/corsair-carbide-spec-01-red-led.html which already comes with one case fan. Now My idea was to put 2 more case fans on the roof of the case. My idea was to buy 2 of these since it matches my case https://www.bol.com/nl/p/corsair-af120/9200000020463183/ ) The second option suits me better, since I save over 50 euros. I have a 420 watt no brand PSU. Can it handle the new fans? and does anyone have more suggestions? Thanks in advance!
