I’m currently looking to start a new build with a threadripper 3960x. The motherboard I am going with is a gigabyte designer. For the RAM I’m unsure as to which I should go for: 4 x 32GB 3600 Corsair vengeance pro c18 or 4 x 16GB 3200 Corsair dominator c16 Would there be much performance difference between then? Which would you recommend getting? The system will run unraid with 2-3 windows gaming VMs,Apple VM,Plex,UniFi controller etc. Thank you for your help

I am considering buying a 1000d for duel system. I have seen that the back of the case can support a 240mm radiator. As a temporary solution till I can do a custom loop I would like to know if my h100i RGB platinum would fit and be able to reach down to the itx system on top of the psu shroud or would it not reach?

I’m am thinking of purchasing a Corsair 1000d case but have never done a custom loop before. what quad radiator would you recommend for the case? I have seen builds done in this case and they have used very thick radiators. Would it be better to use a thick radiator or a slimmer one? This radiator will be cooling a Ryzen 3900 or 3950x when it’s released.

Thanks for the reply I think the 3950x is being release sometime this month so will wait and see what price is like compared to the 3900x.

I am doing a new build mainly for gaming/streaming. I want to be able to game and stream as well as also process a stream from my sons pc via a capture card as his system can’t really hand gaming and streaming at same time. So there would be 2 streams being encoded by the cpu and whatever game I’m playing.Would an AMD R9 be able to handle that sort of workload or would I need more cores?

Thanks for the replies. I know the R9 is capable of streaming/gaming at the same time. What I was wanting to know was if I’m gaming and streaming on the R9 would it be able to also handle streaming my sons game play as well if I used a capture card in my R9 system. I am going to be building a duel system for me and my son for gaming and streaming.I was thinking of going with an Ryzen 9 for the main system and wanted to know if it would be able to handle gaming and streaming from the main system and a second stream feed via capture card from the second system or would I be looking more at a threadripper cpu? It would be 1080p resolution that the second system would be gaming at.

Thanks for the advice I'm going to use a corsair h110i for the cpu. Would you recommend putting some 120mm fans in the other side (top) of the case to exhaust air as well?

Hi have a corsair carbide 240 air cooled and have it situated with the window panel on the top. What do you thing would be the best place to have the fans intake and exhaust to give me the best possible flow of air.

Thanks for the advice I'm going to go with 980ti. Would you stick to the air cooled ones like a evga kingpin or go with a hybrid cooled one?
