GSN got a reaction from kirashi in note 10 headphone jack
To be fair, I've never understood why people have such a problem with companies removing the headphone jack from their products, AirPods have a 60% global market share of wireless earbud sales (which included offerings from Jabra, Sony, Samsung and Xiaomi).

Wireless is the way its going and there is nothing wrong with that, there is nothing more convenient than being able to free yourself of wires on the move. If you're going to make the argument about wired sound-quality then you start dipping into the market for high-fidelity portable music players, which will all still support wired inputs until music technology allows true lossless audio quality over Bluetooth.

This is getting closer and closer with technologies like LDAC bringing it pretty close though.

GSN got a reaction from Electronics Wizardy in server with hardware firewall
    Hi There!

Firstly, are you running the Minecraft Server on your Windows PC? If so, if its a private server for your friends, you don't really need to add a hardware firewall into the mix, this could cause more issues than it solves. Maybe if you're running a public server then this would be necessary, but apart from that, you're better off just port-forwarding in your normal router settings and relying on the SPI firewall built-in.

The mix of both software (Windows Firewall (ADV)) and SPI (Router) will likely be sufficient for a private server, just make sure that if you're sharing out your IP address in public forums that you have sufficient protection.

For more help configuring SPI and Hardware firewalls, please feel free to message me or reply to this topic.

Finally, someone on this post who is listening to reason. People seem to forget that by removing the home button and decreasing the bezel size that you can have a smaller over-all device footprint yet larger screen real-estate.

GSN got a reaction from MSWindowsinside in integrated graphics takes too much memory
You're using a X86-Based system so not all of that 4GB RAM will be available to you anyway. The Celeron B840 CPU is an X64 Chip so you'd be better off installing a 64-Bit version of Windows 7 (Although I'd recommend Windows 10), then you should notice an improvement in the memory management.

6.2 inch display? pretty large in retrospect, but the S8 might have very slim bezels so it could work out.

Something really nice to see, lightens up the mood from the whole "Apple vs FBI" case palaver to be honest, Oculus have started shipping the new Rift headset to consumers, a big deal considering this isn't a development kit, its actually right out-of-the-box kick-ass and ready to go... Use it with Steam and all that jazz, the whole setup (providing your PC can run it, check out other posts for suggested VR builds) will be compatible with many of the latest game titles, sit in front of the PC and bring the monitor right in front of your eyes.

What's even better is that the first customer-placed order has been hand-delivered by the founder of the company, something you'll rarely see, it would be really nice to have something delivered in person like that, if I was running a multi-million dollar company, I would probably put nice touches on my customer relations in this kind of way, plus it gets my business in the news like this did.

I watched the video of this, oh god it was cringey... The guy didn't have a PC, oculus provided him with a ready pc afterwards which is a nice gesture. I go on the r/oculus subreddit quite a lot and they had the right idea, some of my favourites were wearing a hawaiian t-shirt and flip flops. However the one that had me in tears was a guy suggesting that you should have worn tinited glasses and had a white stick when you opened the door.

Very few people knows about computers. They have consoles, not because they are "peasants", but because it has the games they like to play, and the system is a box, that plays them, and easy to use, and get started, which is what they want/care the most about over anything.

So being a massive Windows 10 user most of the time, in fact, I've been using Windows since 98 and haven't really dabbled in much else other than the odd linux distro like Ubuntu and Fedora etc. I've decided to have a play around with OS X, now, don't get me wrong, I know I've jumped into the Apple game a little late, the operating system is mature, well-organised and sits very well right out of the box, but I'm gonna go ahead and say how I feel about some of the bits I've been using the most.

    1. Safari
To be honest, I was skeptical, I've been a massive Google Chrome user, like most of the population that wouldn't like to be stuck using IE, unless of course you're in mainland China, in which case you'll love it because they still use Windows XP. Safari seems to be a really fast, suitable replacement for third party browsers, it's much better than IE for an OS-based browser, and to be fair, it does a lot of the same things. For a start, I find the third-party extension support really useful, as I couldn't really live without stuff like ad-block plus (Don't worry Linus I contribute on Vessel) etc, all-in-all the browser experience was very similar to that of Chrome, really enjoyable and fluid.

    2. iTunes
Now, in terms of a music service, they're all pretty similar now, so I'll just touch on my experience with iTunes as opposed to comparing it with the likes of Spotify and Google Play Music. The music experience is very nice, I activated the 3-Month free trial of Apple Music and I haven't yet been disappointed, the performance of the player is very smooth, no clipping and even in headphones, it was nice. Finding pre-made playlists was intuitive, the radio service was fast and contained the kind of songs I enjoy right off the back.

    3. Launchpad/Spotlight
Seems to be the way ninjas navigate through their OS, along with Mission Control, switching between open windows was amazing, it actually made me want to do it more, even simple things like flicking between iTunes and Safari was more satisfying than the standard switching that you can find in Windows which really doesn't add any kind of excitement to the experience whatsoever like it did in Vista/7. Accessing all apps really quickly was amazing, having the board there with all of my apps just sitting there and waiting for me was fantastic, I really love the interface.

To Conclude, OS preference is subjective, before anyone asks, I did install Steam, and although the compatibility of my library did surprise me at first, it wasn't the same as being on Windows, so I'll have to play all of my games on my laptop of course, really though, these are small problems in a massive world of opportunity and possibility. The OS is fluid, stable and contributes to my productivity to the point where I actually want to do my study instead of procrastinate on Facebook all the time. Overall I really like OS X since trying it, I never thought I'd like anything but Windows but I've seen the other side and to be honest, not a single issue

I use a Lumia 950XL with the device encryption turned ON.
Device encryption for Windows Phones are built in and optional [Default is OFF].

Thing is if you have anything of a personal nature stored on your phone device encryption should be turned on.
I use my phone for a multitude of things including access to a cloud with work documents and other stuff so this is a must for me.
