  1. I'm planning on painting the interior of the EVOLV TG and the IO shroud and PCH heatsink on the Maximus IX Hero. I've seen people paint the whole interior of the Enthoo EVOLV on PCPartPicker but was wondering how to do it and if I would need to break the rivets and re-rivet the interior. In the motherboard's case, I don't want to paint any PCI-e or RAM slots (not gonna pull a Linus,) and I don't want to paint any of the metal on the heatsinks. Painting just a section of the PCH bridge may be a tad tricky, so I also wanted a few tips for that as well.
  2. Dark Rock Pro 3 is a classic. There's also the Cryorig R1, which performs similarly.
  3. CPU Usage you don't have to worry about. GPU Usage is what should be hitting ~100% in a demanding title. The idea behind his statement is that it will barely improve, if not at all, and it's not likely you will notice a difference. If you're experiencing lots of crashes, however, then it will most definitely improve.
  4. JJ himself said it. Sort of RIP White builds that use high end motherboards (just look at Gigabyte's options I guess)
  5. Currently I'm in the market for RGB fans because my computer wasn't already enough of a discoball. Which of the three do you think is best?
  6. Does it matter? I know he likes AMD but he's on a strict budget. I guess fine then, go with an R7 370 since the R9 270X doesn't perform that much differently, I was more thinking of the price to performance, and you can get a 750 Ti for only $120 now, while AMD options are currently priced a little higher.
  7. I'd suggest against an R7 370 or a GTX 950, they're not that good of deals. Put a 750 Ti on there instead, then put the money saved into a better PSU. At least 80+ Bronze.
  8. Does the cost include peripherals? For example, does he need a monitor?
  9. well m9, I think you just got scammed.
  10. It might be. People never put 240 and 280 rads on graphics cards because they don't output as much heat as CPUs unless people are going for ridiculous 1.3+GHz OCs. I'd watercool the Xeon over watercooling the graphics card because the Xeon would definitely benefit from the liquid cooling more. Graphics cards with incredibly beefy heatsinks can dissipate their heat just fine (non reference models,) especially if you're overclocking. Simply put, I'd recommend that you get a liquid cooler for your Xeon first, then consider the G10 (or I also hear Corsair's bracket provides slightly better results) after the fact. One last question: Are you going to keep your current 750 Ti or are you going to upgrade to something beefier?
  11. Go with the 960 + SSD if only for the free SSD and the newer architecture, and the game helps pay off the extra invested.
  12. I don't think either will fail very quickly; they should last you quite some time.
  13. Any and all cases are fair game. If you're like me and can't decide on one, then you can specify your top 3 favorites instead. Mine are: 1. Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX 2. Corsair Graphite 780T 3. Fractal Design Define S
  14. Well you're not planning on getting the card in June or July, which is when its market availability will begin, so you shouldn't have to worry about price skyrocketing. The stock and hype should have settled down by December.
