  1. Yeah I agree, a triple radiator in the top would be awesome. Although I have used that HDD holder thing in the top, it is rather unnecessary. And true, a single 200mm intake isn't enough for positive air pressure. I bought demcifilters for the top and front of the case. So the top is an intake aswell now. It might not be perfect because heat goes up, but it sure keeps dust out and temps are still good so i'm happy with it. And what I'm up to? My packet just arrived. I'll put a teasepicture up when I opened it. So excited!
  2. Thanks man! It's my first case and while it isn't perfect, no case is and I do love it to bits. Waiting for my packet to arrive today. Can't wait to start working in it again
  3. I'll start working on some more changes to my rig. Here's a little teaser. Any guesses?
  4. I bought a GTX 660 ti at launch, and at launch the GTX 660 ti was more appealing than a 7950 as I recall it, but then AMD came with better drivers and the whole game changed. 7950 performs quite a bit better.
  5. While I respect your opinion, that isn't really a constructive reply to my question :p Cheers, This is something I can work with Thanks. That's a very understandable reply. Although I do already know most of those things. I was wondering how they would match performance wise because the EK rad is thicker but has less surface area and is 14 FPI. The XSPC one imho looks gorgeous with the matte finish, has more surface area but isn't as thick so won't interfer with my 8 pin CPU power. The issue is that I can't find the FPI for this rad. Maybe I'm just really stupid and reading over it constantly. Well I was asking because I would be using the standard fan controller of my 650d to set the fans on lowest settings probably all the time. But the NF-F12's have PWM connections, and I was wondering if there's a point in getting NF-F12's if you're not going to be using PWM.
  6. Ok so here's the story: I had put a list together with all the watercooling components I wanted to use. Now I was going to order them and I started looking at other components and I started doubting which rad I should take. I use a Corsair 650d and I'm doubting which rad I should put in the top. I have a little more than 70mm clearance in the top. The options are: XSPC EX280 with Noctua NF-A14 FLX http://www.xs-pc.com/radiators-ex-series/ex280-dual-fan-radiator VS EK Coolstream XT 240 with Noctua NF-P12 http://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-coolstream-rad-xt-240.html So what do you guys think: What is best and why? And while I'm at it. I don't have PWM connections for NF-F12's. If I go for the 240 rad, should I got with NF-F12's regardless?
  7. I have 3770k @ 4.3 GHz, SLI GTX 660 ti on a Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 750 Watt. It is dead silent even at full load. For a friend of mine I used a 600 Watt Be Quiet Pure Power L8 600 Watt I believe. Fair enough it has no modular cables, but that thing is silent. I'm not extremely obsessed with silence but I could not perceive any noise coming from either of those PSU's above any fan or HDD noise.
  8. That is probably true but will it be out immediatly in september or will the cheaper price point card come out later. Isn't it a bit silly to wait on stuff you're not sure about yet? Anyways, thanks everyone for the tips. I'll mention once again he should buy a 1TB drive too and that he should consider waiting a month for a 9970 or 9950 or whatever they'll be called.
  9. I told him he should get that too but he doesn't want it. So it's his choice. I was more wondering about the rest of the build besides storage though thanks His old one dies so it's not really an option but thanks. But the presumed 9970 will be more expensive than the 7970 is now right? With the budget he gave me, I was thinking around 400 euros for the graphics card. cool cheers for the tip He doesn't want storage. I told him to get a drive too. And I haven't decided exactly which 7970 yet. I was thinking off getting the highest overclocked one if it wasn't too expensive idd
  10. I told him he should get a HDD but he says he uses an external drive for that which he shares with his girlfriend so I respect his wishes. He needs it now
  11. This is a build for a friend which I've selected the parts for. I personally think it's pretty balanced. Just looking for some second opinions because I might be wrong Case: Fractal Design R4 CPU: Intel i5 4670k Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-D3H RAM: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance GPU: Gigabyte 7970 PSU: Be Quiet! Pure Power 600 Watt SSD: Samsung 840 250 GB And later on I'm passing my H60 on to him so he can have a modest overclock while I go full custom myself. This is purely a gaming rig and although I know it might be a bit much RAM, it's on sale in the place I'm getting it so it is cheap. Any opinions are welcome.
  12. Can't argue about taste man :p But regardless pretty cool build, once you have a holiday clean up those cables as already mentioned. It'll look beast
  13. It's not very good tbh. As a radiator fan it's even worse. But at idle it's pretty quiet. When I'm gaming it does get pretty loud, but I don't hear it 'cause I wear headphone. But I do regret it a little. I should've bought Noiseblockers or bitfeniks spectre pros or something. Atleast they look beast. Thank you! I really like that! Fair enough, the colour scheme is not my thing but the rest is gorgeous, actually the first time I've seen a build make clever use of those holes at the back for tubing. I always thought they were pretty pointless. But in that build it looks really clean and balanced. I'm gonna watercool the cpu properly soon. So I'll share more pictures when that is done. I won't do the GPU's though. They're just 660 ti's. And I don't personally think they're worth the 120 dollar cost for a gpu block and backplate + the extra fittings. When I get something more high end in the future, I'll watercool those too. Thanks for sharing, that, was a nice inspiration for me
  14. I actually haven't considered that, I'll look into it. Sounds interesting and cheap atleast! It is a breeze to work in that case. Although It was a bit tight in the bottom for me, but that's because of all the hard drives. And here are a few more pictures: Glory shot of the fan in the back And glory shots of the graphics card. I do like the looks of that ASUS cooler and PCB 24-pin right after finishing it. I did redo that left heatshrink. It was way too short for my OCD :P Cables mess in the back before cleaning it up Cable mess cleaned up to the best of my abilites, didn't use too many zip ties just yet because I still plan on messing around with it. I know there's room for improvement here :P The theme of my build was black and red and the white power and hdd led in the case bothered me a little so I decided to change this aswell (sorry low quality pics, had to use my phone for these) The result And the work in progress Add a bit of heatshrink around the solder and that's how it looks. And this is the whole setup all together with the Corsair K70. Damn that keyboard is gorgeous Thanks for viewing!
  15. Thank you! I have arranged for a black SLI bridge. It's one of the high priorities on my to do list. I have noticed that aswell. Honestly when I started the sleeving job I did not think of it or notice that they were actually blue. But now that it looks a lot cleaner, the little mistakes pop out much more such as the SLI bridge and the blue connectors. So yeah I'll change them when I have to place another large order for components. But until then, it's not worth the shipping cost.

    My A51 ALX

I'm in my mid 20's and I do agree that it might be aimed at teenagers. But I can't help myself. I do like the look of that case a lot :p Nice build. Enjoy it
  17. Thanks! And yeah The SLI-bridge is annoying the crap out of me, but I'm trading it for a black PCB from a friend of mine, who doesn't care. That will solve the problem :p Awch painful, thanks for pointing that out. (In my defense English isn't my mothertongue) And thank you. Thanks! And it is indeed a Corsair 650d. I'll have a look at other pictures I made during the process and upload a few more later on.
  18. Updates: check page 2 for watercooling pics Hello everyone, I'm doing a few esthetic upgrades to my rig and wanted to share. This is the first rig I ever built about a year ago. Raw specs: MB: Asus Sabertooth Z77 CPU: 3770k @ 4.3 GHz GPU: ASUS Direct CUII GTX 660 ti SLI Cooler: H60 RAM: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance (1600 MHz 9-9-9-24 if I recall correctly) PSU: Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 750 Watt The first thing I wanted to do was sleeve my PSU properly instead of the crappy standard sleeving. I didn't do everything but I did do the main visible cables: 24 pin, CPU 8 pin and all 6 pin connectors. I'll watercool later on and probably update the thread. This is how my rig started out: And this is the package I received from MDPC The 24 pin connector had a few double cables so I fixed those by cutting them and soldering a few pieces together And applying lots of heatshrink And this is the finished result Thanks for watching, I have more pictures if people would like to see a few more Hope you enjoyed
  19. Epic dude, very nicely done :)
  20. I honestly thought this would look bad :p But that's pretty awesome. i take my hat off to you sir
  21. Yeah I understand, here in Belgium I have the same problem for keyboards and mice. Maybe you can see if one of your friends owns one? That's how I tested my M65
  22. You might wanna wait for a K70 with blue switches? Does have backlight but fits the requirements for the rest although it doesn't have marco keys. And is available in many different lay outs depending on which you prefer.
  23. I have not used the MS-3 but I own a corsair M65. I have very small hands (like linus-small) and I palm it as I have done with my G5 for years. Fits very nicely in your hand although on the right side there's a sharp little corner that can be a little annoying. But I don't feel it anymore now. You should hold the mouse in your hand if you can before purchasing. The M65 might be a bit small if you want to palm.
  24. I had the original Samsung Wave, which used Bada OS which was kinda crappy. But I still loved that done until today. I replaced it now with an S3. But the Wave was made out of aluminum and looked really sleek. Wasn't too big either. It cost me 320 Euro on Pixmania and was brand new at the time. I really don't understand how samsung stuck to making plastic phones as their flagship phone when a midrange phone was made out of solid aluminum and just felt great to hold. GG samsung if it's true although it's probably gonna add up in the price.
  25. Not trying to be offensive but I have to disagree with you. I know it's a different market but what about the car sector? There's loads of girls on there with even more exposed skin and nobody complains there. I'm from Europe and over here nobody seems to care. I wouldn't call it sexist, that's a tad too far. But people always like a pretty girl to look at. Fair enough it is a computer channel and a computer event. But still, the booth babes wouldn't be there if so many people are against it. I personally consider it quite innocent. Cosplay is not considered sexist either is it? And usually there's a few of those on those expos. This is in no means directed towards you ajoy39, they are just my general thoughts. I say upload the video. It's all good fun. I understand it's a delicate matter but wouldn't the world be a happier place if people didn't complain about girls in hot pants and tank tops. There so many worse things in the world we should worry about.
