  1. Hey guys, I recently saw a Youtube video in which there was an interesting game running in the background, that I would love to try out. Unfortunately I don't know the name of it, so I thought you guys might be able to help me. If you have played it, some thoughts on the game are also appreciated Here is the video I was talking about: EDIT: I AM AN IDIOT, THE NAME IS GIVEN IN THE DESCRIPTION
  2. It's an AIO and not a tower cooler but the results should be identical
  3. Well that might be a very good idea, especially used RAM shouldn't cause any problems but be careful with used storage devices, since they have a very limited lifetime (especially SSD's)
  4. Save up for more money. Sorry I had to do it, you asked for it I would get a GTX 1050 (ti if you have enough money left), the cheapest RAM you find (expensive RAM is a waste of budget for you), and if you have enough money left an 120gb SSD+500gb HDD (should have enough capacity for most people). If you cannot afford a 120gb SSD, you may pick up a cheap 60gb model for you OS.
  5. 6700k has 91W tdp, 6700 (without k) has 65W
  6. The i7 6700 has 65W tdp, while the i5 6600k has 91W, so I guess the stock cooler is just not made for a cpu like that... The stock cooler didn't even come with the 6600k, I had it laying around and just threw it on.
  7. bought new cpu and mobo but the mounting system for lga 1151 of my old cooler was missing so I have to use an old stock heatsink until I have the new mounting system. But with the intel stock cooler the cpu goes up to 100°C easily when having some load on it...
  8. Do I have to touch things like voltage when downclocking a 6600k or can I just lower the multiplier? Thanks for your help
  9. ok, makes sense then, since I have the 4gb version
  10. I can with my overclocked GTX 960 (the new GPU is for my dad btw)
  11. Hey guys, looking for a new graphics card. I could get a - RX 470 4gb (Sapphire Nitro+) for 209€ - RX 480 4gb (Sapphire Nitro+) for 225€ - GTX 1060 3gb (not sure which model to get) for around 240€ What can you recommend for 1080p gaming?
  12. @mark_cameron @Dutch-stoner @M.Yurizaki Thanks for all your help. I also have decent computer knowledge, so I wouldn't have used any top-of-the-line SSD, but I completely forgot considering SATA speeds. I am most likely gonna go and buy a cheap model from a reliable brand.
  13. I am not quite sure, but it seems like it uses SATA 3. The exact model is the Dell Inspiron n5050 (http://www.tesco.com/direct/dell-inspiron-n5050-laptop-intel-core-i5-4gb-500gb-156-display-black/215-1022.prd?source=others). To make it clear again: I don't need the fastest SSD available. If I save one second while booting I don't really care. I just don't want an SSD that is gonna die fast and is still cheap.
  14. If it is 500gb, I'd say around 150€ max. For 250gb around 80€ I already looked at the sandisk plus series because they offter 500gb for 114€, what is crazily cheap. But I am not sure how long that thing will last and how good it will perform.
  15. Hey guys, I want to swap out the HDD of my laptop with an SSD. Does the writing/reading speed make a big difference when booting or for multitasking? What SSDs can you recommend? It should be reliable and not too expensive. Thanks for your help
  16. Hey guys, so I built a PC for my dad two moths ago with the following specs: i5 6400 MSI b150m mobo Corsair vs650 (used) R7 270x (used) Corsair 100r with an additional fan The rest should not be of any importance for the problem. All the used parts were used by my brother or me before, so they are perfectly fine. Everything worked fine for two months, but after a recent driver update (unfortunately my dad does not remember what exactly has been updated) Star Wars Battlefront keeps crashing randomly. Sometimes after 2 minutes, sometimes after 2 hours of playing. The rest of his PC keeps working and when he shuts down the game in the task manager, everything goes back to normal. He always gets the following crash report(that I have never seen before): Updating and reinstalling the drivers of the graphics card didn't work... Do I have to reinstall directx? Is that even possible? A little note (might be useless information, but maybe it's important): HWMonitor displays the card as a R9 370, even though every other application says it is a 200-series card. It is most likely because of HWMonitor, but who knows. If you have any ideas, let me know. I really have no idea what to do... Already thanks to you guys
  17. I would always use air coolers over AIO for <100€. They are more quiet and usually cheaper. Reliability isn't an issue for both options. The only thing that is good about AIOs is the way they look
  18. Well, that would be best But it's OP's money
  19. Why shouldn't he upgrade the cooler already now? Sooner or later he will have to anyways... If he has to decide between the 6600k and the cooler I agree, but if not there is no reason to wait.
  20. I personally use a BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3 and absolutely love it. But I don't know if you like the way it looks. I you care mostly about the looks I would go with a blower style cooler. I really like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4UF1H80890 (have a look at CRYORIGs lineup in general, they make really good looking quality fans) For 80€ you could also pick up a cheap AIO cooler
  21. Have you ever seen a Noctua fan not really an improvement over the stock fan from Intel
  22. I haven't had a gsync display myself yet, but from what I have heard yes
  23. I don't really understand what you mean ^^ Like that? EDIT: Now I got what you mean Would be pretty hard to hide the cables and so on I guess ^^
  24. It is I would say for fps or racing games 1440p 144hz and for singleplayer games like Skyrim etc. 4k 60hz. Depends on what you play mostly
