For those trying to find the cards.

Model number was quite literally just 30##. Not 30## - ####

    I don't think they had any 3080s

I tried with 3060, 3070, and 3080. Only 3060 and 3070 sent me to a link (out of stock when I arrived).

So the url were along the lines of 3060z20x16 or 3070z20x16. 3080z20x16 gave you a 404.

MrG13 reacted to LinusTech in @LinusTech Twitter Account Hacked
On June 28, 2016 the Linus Media Group domain registrar account was compromised.

The exact methodology of the "hack" won't be disclosed for obvious reasons, but I can assure you that despite any claims to the contrary, the appropriate safeguards were in place on our side, and as I type this Yvonne is having a very heated phone discussion with the 3rd party responsible for the breach.

Anyway, the thing most of you are probably wondering about right now is what this means for your forum account or personal information, and the answer is very simple:

    NOTHING.

The "hacker" simply changed the DNS settings in the dashboard and did not at any time have access to the linustechtips.com server. Any claims of a database dump are categorically false.

The compromised accounts - including Twitter - have been restored.

I hope this clears things up.

So you can afford 2x 1080's, but cant upgrade to like a 900w+ PSU?

I doubt youll need more than 1 1080. Buy 1 now, and when you actually need it add another, plus it will be much cheaper by then. Use that money saved to upgrade the PSU.

try uninstall your current driver using DDU and install an older driver like the 361.xx or 362.xx, 361.91 for example

and far as 'how do you know if everything is working'
if the system has turned on and you have installed an operating system that's a pretty good indicator you're on the right track!

If there is smoke or flames then turn everything off....quickly if it is flames

But you really shouldn't be seeing the CPU at those temps, what CPU are you using and is that the idle speed, i.e. when you just looking at the desktop and not running any programs, or are you bench marking or playing a game/encoding video etc
