  1. This is very similar to the one Linus has https://www.newegg.com/global/au-en/p/0Y3-00M7-000K2 just isnt available to Australia and has an m.2 slot as well that isnt needed
  2. I already have a motherboard with a U.2 port, Im after the part that linus uses to plug the graphics card into that then plugs into the U.2 port. No that is PCIE to U.2, the part in the video is U.2 to PCIE
  3. So i cant for the life of me find these boards that Linus used to use a U.2 port to connect a PCIE device???? I have looked on ali and banggood and just cant find it. Anyone know where I might find them?
  4. Cant see anything that looks off. AI Suite 3 and task manager. have cleared, also messed with mce settings and also tried running the auto OC thingie, still maxing out at 3.8 rather than 4.2 like i used to. im really stuck.
  5. I have an i7 6580K, all of a sudden after cleaning out my watercooling loop im not getting my turbo boost 3.0 clock? even though even at max load im only at 30c? I have no idea whats going on? thank you for any and all help!
  6. I feel like the option I'm after is somewhere in the middle, The files aren't mission critical enough to warrant paying someone to save them. But It would be a real pain in the butt to loose the files, I'd really like to recover them myself if possible.
  7. As the title suggests, I have a drive with a currupted partition that was ntfs but is now showing as raw. I've downloaded some software called "EaseUS", It verified that there is still files in tact on the drive but of course the trial version doesnt allow you to recover anything... I have the PartedMagic linux distro that i bought a while back but I cant see any way of recovering these same files only other garbage ones. Anyone got suggestions on what to do?
  8. it does get a drive letter Ive tried it in 2 different drive enclosures, neither worked, but did with other drives in them, will plug it in directly when my 1 spare sata cable is free (being used by the new 8TB drive currently)
  9. yeah I'm going to get everything else to the new drive then see if it can be saved. when i plug it in windows shows it but cant open it, task manager shows it running at 100% one of the other drives is identicle so if its the board i can swap it with that one. hopefully thats worst case scenario, I've also got PartedMacic a linux distro for messing with drives that might be able to get it going...
  10. WELL, I think I've figured it out, Looks like one of the drives died ? Just as I was backing it all up to a new drive too ?
  11. the files are mostly 1gb to 5gb, and when i say grind to a halt it actully stops and says the speed is 0mb/s theres no clutter, Im trying one drive at a time now
  12. So I just got a new Seagate IronWolf 8TB HDD, I have about 4TB to write to it from 5 separate 1TB hdds, The windows file transfer seems to grind to a halt after 100gb or so and hang, One time it required me to restart to get the drives going again. Any thoughts?
  13. I work as a photocopier technician, I get a lot of old 2.5" drives from old machines. I'd really like to wipe them and use them as archival drives but they're password locked (if plugged in during boot it asks for a password) (if plugged into a dock after boot the drive still cannot be accessed), Is there a way to completely erase the drive and thus remove the password? Have done lots of googling and cant find anything useful.
  14. So I have a ASUS X99 Deluxe 2 motherboard which has 4 temperature sensor inputs, I'd like to buy one to measure the temp of my loop so I can base my fan curve on water temp rather than CPU/GPU temp. But I'm not sure if my board uses 1K or 10K thermal probes? I was looking at getting this one LINK. How do I find out? Will both work?
  15. So I recently got a laptop with a 1050 and an integrated GPU, In windows I can (apparently) choose which I use when running certain applications. Is it possible to do this with my Rig at home? I have a 1080Ti in there currently and a 750Ti from an old pc, The 1080ti is kind of overkill 50% of the time when im studdying and watching youtube, Could I use the 750Ti for this instead and use the 1080Ti just for games and higher work loads.
