  1. Bringing an old thread back from the grave but thought it warrents a comment. Legend! Had issues with my naga epic chroma not charging in the dock, and ocassional odd button clicks. Disabling usb selective suspend fixed this. Synapse really needs to be able to check for things like this that are going to cause issues. grrrr
  2. Veeam endpoint looks pretty good, especially the windows client. Not seen as much info but apparently a Linux client too which could work for the new web server. I could set up a time machine backup share for osx boxes, and just rsync the other FreeNAS servers.... Feasible. Looking in to the free version of Veeam ONE. Only briefly browsed but looks like it doesn't monitor client backups. *long day and not enough coffee*
  3. I've just realised i forgot to include some further information: The servers i'll be backing up will be a mixture of windows server 2003-2012, linux servers, and mac servers, along with 2 freenas servers. Cheers for that though leadeater, I shall look in to those options
  4. Hey all! So, i'm currently trying to put together plans for our summer build and upgrade for the server room at work but struggling for a couple of ideas when it comes down to a fully functional backup solution. I'm considering building 2 x Storinators, using the "enhanced" version that 45 drives does, and filling it with 18 5TB drives in RaidZ2+0 (3 pools of 6 drives in freenas). Now.... On to the actual backup software. I've been considering setting up a headless crashplan jail to use it as a backup destination, but wondering if anyone has any other ideas? Ideally, i'll be backing up both system and data partitions from some servers/other NAS's, as well as documents from staff workstations (both windows and OSX). So, does anyone have any examples of backup software that would work well in this scenario?
  5. Thread necro once again but thought the need to comment. This build has actually inspired a new build i'm planning for work. Looking in to building a large scale backup server for all our other servers in the building, roughly 60TB, that will be situated away from our main server room. Probably going to go with the 30 bay case though, starting off with 3 x 6 drive pools in raidz2 config.
