I should probably check if it is seated properly. And yes I used the stock fan which has paste on it already.

Hello, I recently upgraded my pc to an asrock z97 killer, Gigabyte gtx 1060 (long version), Evga psu, and an i7 4790k. But I have a problem after 30 minutes of playing Insurgency my cpu is going from 30c to 86c at most. I'm using a stock fan and getting an aftermarket fan soon. But there's also some other things that could be related to this. At start up the cpu fan spins at 100% then slows down after a few seconds. which is interesting because this has never happened to me. Additionally, when the mobo splashboard comes up at startup it stays there's the whole time during startup and the windows loading circle glitches through the mobo splashboard and then goes to my login screen. Finally, the pc doesn't always start the first time I hit the power button.

also, do you always have a sata controller? Cuz I don't think I have one unless its on the mobo

Also what about the windows key? Will I need to do something with that?

What do you need a sata controller for? because isn't sata just sata cables? And where would you even find those drivers?

Hello, I heard I need to fresh install windows 10 if I'm getting a new mobo. Which I'm perfectly fine doing. But how? Because don't I need a new key to reinstall windows? If not how do I put windows 10 on a USB and reinstall it onto the pc? Could you also explain how the whole Windows key thing works? PS: I didn't upgrade I got it from a disc...

Also should I reset windows before I download my Mobo or after?

The link doesn't say anything about downloading it to a usb. It talks about using your windows account and skipping to put in a Windows key and then sign in to Microsoft and it will work since your account is associated with windows
