  1. Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with hot swapping a usb or hdmi port on the hp omen15. I got some liquid damage on my laptop and friend the hdmi and some usb ports. I'm thinking I will sauter on new one, but have never done so. Any tips would help.
  2. Exactly, how it should be. shows progress.
  3. My buddy and I have bene watching Linus forever. We lived on the East Coast of the US. We are thinking about driving to Vancouver for the event. Would you guys do the same?
  4. This is above me, but sounds sick, i want in.
  5. I was just looking at my old posts too. I was so clueless with stuff for awhile. it makes me laugh.
  6. also, since everyone is sharing their experience I'll throw it in too. My first build was with an Asrock Fatality paried with a 4790k. I loved that board. Did me great, never had issues with it. I also ran a gigabyte board before, pretty basic. but that was also great. I've ran some MSI boards in flip builds and I haven't had any issues with them either. When you're dealing with companies like Asrock, Gigabyte, MSI... you can't really go wrong. Just make sure it has the features you want. Enough M.2 slots, fan headers, IO, size (ATX, Micro ATX, Mini ITX), etc. the z series boards can overclock CPUs, the Bs and Hs cannot. There are guides online that tell you more. and again, I'd highly suggest plugging them into pcpartpicker and making sure it doesn't give you a bios issue. this can be a real pain for a first time builder
  7. if this is your first PC i would HIGHLY suggest not messing with bios updating yet. especially since you usually need an older cpu to do so, unless this board has flash
  8. Looking for a group to play some COD and Tarkov. I'm not the best, im eh. just looking for some casual play.
  9. realistically its the CPU fan. Make sure your exhaust and front fans are facing the right way too. Sounds stupid, but I've ran into that issue before lol
  10. I need to dig into ARGB on fans myself. i've never been too concerned with it. But I believe you just need to buy a controller and plug it into your ARGB controller on your MOBO and plug your fans in. Worst case, no RGB. but try to find a deepcool controller with pins that match your fans. 3 vs 4 pin someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
  11. Id suggest watching the Linus video, he puts the 4070 in great aspect with everything else. Me personally, I don't enjoy supporting Nvidia for these prices.
  12. I mean, this is definitely a high end build. Best GPU out there and a crazy cpu to top off. If you want to save, I'd suggest going lower end Ryzen, like a Ryzen 5 5600, getting yourself a 30 series card or a 6700 XT. I don't know how much storage you need but 6tb seems to be overkill. I've been running a ton of games on 2 tbs for awhile now. I'd suggest focusing on cooling for your CPU as well, since you don't have one on there. Get something that can keep that i9 cool, which is tuff. I missed the CPU cooler on there. that should be good!
  13. I second this. I would check out some lower end 3070 cards. A little risky, but may be worth it

    LeadTek 3070?

Fair enough, but im buying used either way. was thinking 3060ti or rx 6700 xt but found these lower end 3070s

    LeadTek 3070?

I also saw some gainward and Manli cards. But I haven't heard of those brands
  17. The price looks great on this. But the card itself looks eh. Will be running into any problems with this? Thanks!
  18. I will keep this in mind. Thanks! Which one would you get if they were at the same price?
  19. Hello, I'm looking on the used market for GPUs. I found the RTX 3070 for around $350 and the RTX 2080ti for around $230. Would anyone here spend the extra money for the RTX 3070?
  20. I will keep that in mind. thanks!
  21. I actually got the 9900k at an extreme discount from my buddy. I was thinking of doing a mini ITX build. Depends on board cost.
  22. Good to know. I’ll probably be going this route. Thank you!
  23. I just have a quick question. I've been looking around a bit on finding motherboards that have the correct bios and there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer. I have an Intel Core I9 9900k. I was wondering how i can be sure that whatever motherboard I get will have the correct bios. Does this mean I just need to find an LGA 1151 motherboard built a year or so after the CPU? This may be a dumb question, but I just want to make sure because I don't have an old cpu that I can use to flash a new board. Thanks!
