  1. Definetly; I was going to use a 750d, but the guy I'm building this for wanted to keep the cost down. still curious to see how my old white case will look though.
  2. Thanks, I took em' at night so the lighting sucked. Lotta parts ain't here yet, so it's a bit plain ATM.
  3. Hey guys, thanks a billion for visiting my post. This is my 3rd build ever, so I still have some stuf to iron out (sleeving, cable manegement, etc) So I hope ya'll stay with me as I try and fix the many problems I percieve I'll have with this "budget" build. Also, I personally don't pay attention to projects without photos, so I decided to not leave you guys hangin'. Also, I'm using the Asus z-97 pro motherboard that no google search could find build logs with, so I guess it's kinda "a first" Motherboard: Asus Z-97 Pro Cpu: Intel Core I5 4670k Gpu: (My old) Gtx 560ti ... I know... ancient Memory: Patriot Viper 3 8Gb 2x4 1600mhz Black Cpu Heatsink: Corsair h100i Hdd: Seagate Barracuda 1Tb Case: Corsair 600t White graphite Anyways, enjoy, Cheers! PS: Scrolling though tons of pages of comments to find each new post sucks, so I'll just update/edit this post to make it easier for Ya'll to find. I'm new here, and have no idea how images work, so if anyone can give tips on image resizing I'll greatly appreciate it! Just the parts currently here. PSU and memory missing, Damn you amazon... Watch out Xbox... Big Brother's here Don't know why that's here.... aint nuthin' special And here's the king! Looks lovely in person, except for the disgusting circle Top view, good view of the mosfet heatsinks  Love at first sight! MDPC-X is out Just as I started my build, so an alternative: Heard paracord sleeving works well... IDK though (see below) Not completely hollow, plus it frays worse than a stormtrooper's aim Color Scheme: Looking to do a IIIIIIIIIII Style of cable sleeving. Asymmetry meets my eye particularly well. Pictures don't represent the colors right... They look WAYY WORSE in real life. I guess I'll have to do with what I got.
  4. Really nice improvements. For the front HDD cage, try and put both drives in the bottom cage so that you can remove the top one and allow better airflow. Also some fan filters will help keep your build looking top-notch. Lovin' the painting, I can't spray paint to save my life. Sleeving is awesome also. Cheers!
  5. 20db is usually near whisper quiet, so I think you're good with that (look up decibel charts on Google). I would, as a professional cheapskate, use stock/cheap fans and go for a fan splitter and a 12volt to 7volt reducer. fans'll be slower, but quieter and leaves a bit more cash for your motherboard. IDK, just my $ .02 Oh yeah, and don't forget fan filters, or (what I assume is the Intel stock cooler you're using) will start to choke.
  6. Short answer: yes Long answer: due to the noise levels and ambient air temperature, it depends. Of course, your cpu won't melt, but I barely overclocked my FX-8150 with a single-rad closed loop water cooler. It would help to know cooling around your case and such, but as long as you torture test well and stay reasonably conservative, you should be fine.
  7. I may have experienced the same problem before switching to ethernet. It may be a weak signal through a wall from the router, or the router is set to a different channel/setting (bg, b, g) try switching channels around. I usually go to 192.168.1.1 on the web adress to acsess my router settings. Sometimes ethernet is just easier and dosent put grey hairs on my head. Linus has some videos on wifi "enhancement" you should search up. Good luck, hope it helps.
  8. My hard drive has never failed me, but I've heard people have problems with em: Seagate Barracuda 1TB As far as the Motherboard goes, that one is extremely pricey if you're not planning anything like extreme overclocking or possibly LN2 (judging from your other components) Also keep in mind other small accessories like thermal paste, case accsessories, and the most expensive of the bunch: Case fans I personally wouldn't pick that case, but hey, its just my opinion My Nighthawk MX8 is great and on sale goes for ~100$, but with youe budget, you could probably squeeze-in a Corsair RGB for the asthetics 2000$ is a huge budget compared to my other builds (1.5% higher) so be sure to spend the money carefully, you could possibly get custom watercooling w/ some cheaper components if you want. Good Luck!
  9. My experience in this is limited, but did you try to re-plug everything? Maybe it isn't the new case, but a component isn't being used and its possibly slowing down a boot (think HDD if you have one)...
  10. I personally own one for a year since thier amazon sale; highly recommend it.
