  1. Quick question: Would it be a good idea to get say a 256GB internal SSD, get rid of the internal HDD, and use say a 3TB external HDD for any other storage?
  2. What mobo would you recommend? I was also suggested the Asus Z87 Pro or Plus.
  3. I am going with a 760w PSU so I can SLI in the future.
  4. Will keep that in mind. Will have to wait and see how much money I have left to play with. I am guessing that my tuition refund will be somewhere around the $2000 mark which is what I'm planning for. Using a build like this as my base is what I'll do and then mod it from there. He also recommended the MSI Z87-GD65 for the mobo.
  5. I was talking with a friend of mine last night who is a dedicated PC gamer and has been building systems a lot longer than me. This is the build he came up with for me last night since I will only be gamingon one 1080p monitor. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1kwzw
  6. It'll be mainly on stuff for my YT channel and helping my sister edit some of her short films. On a side note: *bangs head against desk* Why am I so indecisive?! I went through this when I was trying to decide on a new TV earlier this year. I weigh all of my options and study everything until I have no idea what to get! lol
  7. I won't be able to start until October. The wait is killing me!
  8. About 2 years ago when I started to get bored with console gaming. I've wanted to build a gaming PC ever since, and now I'm finally getting to! :D
  9. For radiators, you need fans that are high static pressure. I would also suggest high static pressure fans with PWM so your mobo/cpu can regulate the fan speeds based on the temps of the CPU. I believe the best high static pressure fans with PWM that Noctua makes that a 120mm are the NF-F12s. Of course you'd need to pick up two of them.
  10. Ordering parts as I can and I am getting my tuition refund money around Oct.
  11. This is my first build that I have ever put together and thanks to SSOB and a few other users, I have finally decided on my final specs. This build most likely will not be finished until sometime in October (hopefully before BF4 comes out), so I will update this thread with pics as everything comes together. Here are the specs: CASE: CoolerMaster Storm Trooper OWNED CPU: i7-4770k TO BE ORDERED CPU COOLER: Corsair H110 w/ Noctua NH-A14 PWM fans TO BE ORDERED MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC TO BE ORDERED RAM: Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer (2x4GB) 1866Mhz TO BE ORDERED GPU: Asus DirectCU II GTX 780 TO BE ORDERED PSU: Corsair AX760i 760w TO BE ORDERED SSD: Samsung 840 Series 120GB TO BE ORDERED HDD: WD Caviar Black 2TB TO BE ORDERED KEYBOARD: Corsair Vengeance K95 TO BE ORDERED MOUSE: Corsair Vengeance M65 TO BE ORDERED MONITOR: BenQ XL2720T TO BE ORDERED CASE FANS: 3x Cougar Vortex 120mm TO BE ORDERED 1x Cougar Vortex 140mm ORDERED Here is the case as it is now with the windowed side panel: (you can see my older than dirt PC in this pic as well)
  12. Don't think so, but I could be wrong. I know EVGA and Gigabyte both have 4GB versions of the 770 though.
  13. Quick question; if I was going to do some video editing on just gameplay videos and commentaries, would I be better off going with the 4770k?
