I've used Sickleflow's and although they aren't the best around they are very nice for the money. Every Corsair fan i've ever owned as rattled slightly which was annoying. If you can then stretch for Noctua Redux fans.

Right so i'm looking at buying a NAS enclosure, most likely the Netgear ReadyNAS RN104 so that I can whack my current WD Green 2TB in there and still have enough bays for increasing space in the future while still being able to keep some redundancy. Now, The plan was to grab the enclosure, whack my existing Green 2TB in there and getting another Green to do RAID with. Then in future I would grab more Greens as my storage requirements increased so I could RAID 5 or something. My question is aside from the old "Red's are made for NAS so get them" Should I be concerned about using Greens in a NAS or will I be okay? I'm mainly looking for personal experiences if possible as I see varying ones on Amazon etc.

Howdy, Does anyone have a suggestion for a decent air cooler for a 250D? Currently I use a Raijintek Aidos 92mm one with a Noctua fan strapped to it and unfortunately it doesn't butter many parsnips. Ideally i'd like to keep the price low as possible but if you have something dank in mind then i'll consider it, and can post pics of what my rig looks like inside if you need a better idea of spacings. Okay so I ran Speedtest four times today when the network slowed down again. The Ethernet connection was made through a Powerline adapter for reference. The speeds seem a little low as I used to get 70 Down / 20 Up and it just seems like its dipped for no reason whatsoever. Any tips? The one I currently have is the Home Hub 4 Type A. Here is my Speedtest over WiFi which looks decent compared to ADSL but I can usually get around double that on both up and down. Edit: Sorry forgot to add, Usually yes by Wifi but the speed difference when wired isnt much of an increase. Yeah Smart Wireless is currently on too.

I've looked at PfSense before however I don't really have any spare components except for mITX stuff so it wouldn't be great for LAN ports/WiFi unless I whacked a separate switch somewhere. But wouldn't the cost of getting some of that come close to a 70GBP odd VDSL one? @Mug - Yeah the HH4 isn't combined and thats the one I have, the Openreach white modem is currently sat in my kitchen with the router somewhere else in more "friendly" place for the signals. I wanted to replace both as when my network chugs along, restarting the router alone doesnt seem to solve the issue. (that and I actually have a spare Openreach modem I switched in and the issue persisted). @Fluxx do you know which one you had? I've seen problems reported on Amazon Reviews about several models of ASUS products.

Hey there boys and girls, been a long time since I posted last and I hope someone can help. Right now I use my ISP's modem and router (BT Infinity 2 UK stuff) and it just seems to be really crappy. On both WiFi & LAN it seems to work fine for a couple days then it chugs along slowly until it dies and requires a complete power cycle of all the networking equipment. I'm thinking of replacing both those units with a combined VDSL modem and router, like either the ASUS DSL-N55U or TP-LINK TD-W9980. I know from checking out the ISP forums that the latter should work fine, however im checking if you lot would recommend a certain brand/model for reliability/usability or support reasons? Any help would be appreciated!

On my FX processor I usually hit a 10 rounds on IBT on maximum which takes around half an hour then I do two hours on Prime95. Reason for that is, if one of my cores will fail, it's usually core six on mine after an hour.

Maybe the application of the TIM on the Phenom was worse than the application on the FX processor. It can make a huge difference if you mess up applying the thermal compound.

I tried Battlefield 3 and that ran fine, I didn't monitor the load on the processor while doing that yesterday though. So what you're saying is that my old AMD (it is getting on) is sucking on a CPU intensive game because of a combo of bad per core performance on my FX8120 and a older game engine on Starcraft? WoW isn't an issue anymore, just needed to mess around on that one. I think I think i'll squeeze a little more life out of this processor until it/motherboard dies then i'll look at going the old Intel route unless AMD offer more next year which they probably won't.

Shame my motherboard isn't playing nicely or i'm sure i could squeeze more juice out of the processor Seems like WoW isn't an issue now, just Starcraft. To be honest i'm thinking it could have just been a random dodgy patch for the game that has caused the issue. Nevertheless i'm still talking to Blizzard about it, and I can tell they're stratching their heads over it too
