Sebastian, Linus Sebastian. I take my CPU's dropped, not shaken. ?

I spent twenty minutes cutting his head off to slap it onto Daniel Craig's body from Skyfall.

You might be a little too young to know the feeling of the original ibm thinkpad keyboard

The link is legit. My friend has almost the same set. And they are awesome. I used them for a week and was super happy with them.

They are just perfect for gaming and a lot cheaper than you think. Especially if you can wait till the black friday sale. Then you may be able to pick up a more expensive set for around 100 USD. I'm canadian and with the shitty canadian dollar, the price fluctuates a lot for me

Also, i have a pair of sony MDR-ZX330BT s and they are really light and can last for 10 hours on a 2 hour charge. The ear part can turn and fit in tight spaces and it won't break if its in a backpack full of heavy textbooks and laptops that got dropped (personal experience)

Sexy, will add it into consideration! I am likely going to wait until Dell hopefully refreshes their lineup with Kabylake, and see what Linus thinks of the new XPS 13.

I did consider that, but its quite thick. Nice IO though

Get outta here! Lenovo makes some of the best business class laptops in the world.

The T460p isn't the one i have, but the keyboard is the exact same and it has a great feeling. Just like the original ibm thinkpad keyboard. (i still have one from 1988 that still runs)

Personally, for programming, hyperthreaded is fine because you probably only run 1 or 2 vms at once at the most. For me, an intel Vpro works just fine with amazing speeds

Yeah, I got an old IBM ThinkPad T60 laying around, the keyboard and hardware still feels the same after all these years.

Well, I can't keep track of today's naming. Everything is an i7 apparently. I guess 2 cores + HT is fine

the thinkpad keyboard is part of the experience. Amongst techies, if you have a thinkpad you are sort of like a buisness executive with a learjet

If your ready do go for hyperthread, good 13 inch ultrabook would be asus zenbook. Ya, they can be expensive but I always liked them, just go find a random store to try the keyboard

Honestly, buying a used thinkpad wouldn't even be an issue, you could buy the 3000 dollar model used for a year for around 1500. You won't have issues because all thinkpad owners care for them better than their own children

akskl reacted to Oshino Shinobu in 4K 24" IPS monitor
6ms GtG is not the input delay, that is the response time. Response time is the time it takes for a pixel to change colour (grey to another shade of grey in most cases), not how long it takes for a pixel to respond to an input (name doesn't help with the common misunderstandings). It can cause ghosting (similar to motion blur), but is completely unrelated to input delay or lag.

Even if you know the difference, response times are still meaningless statistic, due to the lack of a standardised measuring system and other factors. As for input delays, they're basically never quoted. When they are, they're often actually the response times and the website advertising them are misunderstanding the differences. They also suffer from the same lack of standardised measurement, like response times.

Also, just to give a sense of how small 6ms would be anyway, it's the same as 0.006 seconds, which is impossible to notice. Most IPS monitors have around 5ms to 12ms quoted response times, but they're mostly all suitable for gaming.

The MG24UQ is the better of the two monitors. The stand in particular is significantly better. It's a shame it's FreeSync and not GSync, though. I'd still advise against 4K at 24", though. I think you'd get more out of 1440P 144Hz at that size than 4K.

Audio is beautiful Screen is decent (for when I bought it) Screen size is perfect Button placement is good HTC Boomsound and Blinkfeed 32GB storage is decent (+ expandable storage) Microphone is decent
    CONS:
Camera sucks. Bad low-light, bad zoom, bad quality, etc. A little bit of bloatware/HTC branding Battery life got significantly worse after a few years (kinda my fault) 2GB RAM (good at the time, not that good now) WiFi/LTE not as good as other phones

You don't need to buy an antivirus software, but if you do, I recommend Vipre. I've been using it for a few years now and I like it very much.
No matter what, like what @CostcoSamples said, you should also get anti-malware software such as Malwarebytes (which I also use).

EDIT: Vipre isn't as great as I thought it was originally. If you're visiting this thread in the future, Vipre has been having a lot of false positives recently.

And no, windows defender is not sufficient.

Free antivirus/anti malware programs are generally pretty good (stay away from Norton).  The companies that make them make their money by trying to sell you the paid versions which have more features.  They usually aren't that expensive and you can sometimes find a cheap key on site like G2A.com.
