  1. Thanks! I do not want a motherboard fan which is why I really wanted to avoid X570.
  2. I know this has been asked before but I've not fully understand the answers re: number of PCIE 3/4 lanes. In my case, I'll have a single GPU (let's say a 3080) and a single PCIE 4.0 M.2 drive. Will there be any performance difference whatsoever between X570 / B550 in my case? Thanks
  3. I just bought one. My only complaint is that XMP didn't work reliably for me (would not boot sometimes). EDIT: the fan controls on this board are amazing.
  4. Just upgraded to Windows 10. I'm using 125% desktop scaling, and was surprised to see Fallout 4 scaled (zoomed in) and presumably affected by the scaling. What? Am I missing something here?
  5. I have DDR4-3000 on an Asus Z170-A board and sometimes (one in every four boots, perhaps), it doesn't boot. I just get a black screen, then if I turn off and on again, I get 'overclocking failed', so I enter the BIOS and exit without making any changes and then it boots, with the memory at full speed. Any suggestions?
  6. OK, I put it on Adaptive, with the Turbo set to 1.2v and the offset to minus .05. Seems stable, but will test further. Does 1.2v seem like probably the minimum it'll need at 4.2GHz?
  7. OK, and test for stability? If stable, lower again etc? What about adaptive mode?
  8. Can someone explain to me (like I'm 5...) how to undervolt a 6700k? I want to see if I can get temps down. I also want the voltage to drop in accordance with load, I don't want it maxed out all the time. Am running at 4.2GHz. Stock, I guess, although the motherboard is syncing all cores (so it turbos at 4.2 on all cores).
  9. Really wish there was decent AA. Fallout 4 has spoiled me.
  10. Nope. Seems very petty and childish of Nvidia to ignore Freesync, and the price premium of G-sync is enough to make me switch to an AMD card when Polaris hits.
  11. Most of the DDR4 I've looked at has a command rate of 2T. Has anyone here tried setting their DDR4 to 1T and noticed a speed improvement?
  12. Thanks guys. But will the Asus thing also monitor the temperature of the motherboard itself? Was wondering whether those fan profiles should be looking at more than just the CPU. In fact, can they look at more than just the CPU?
  13. I was thinking about setting up fan profiles for my chassis fans. The CPU fan will stay on all the time, but I thought the chassis fans could turn off below a certain temperature. The question is: what temp? And for that matter, what temps will the ASUS BIOS measure? Is it possible for the fans to turn on when either the CPU or the motherboard hit a certain temp? (and again, what would those temps be?)
  14. Pretty sure the non-K 6700 has a lower clock speed?
