  1. Just got a Asus MG279Q and it says on website it supports Freesync/GSYNC, but it only supports freesync/gsync at max 90hz, WHICH IS SUPER LAME. Question for you all, do you prefer 144hz no g-sync OR 90hz WITH GSYNC on?
  2. Yeah that didn't work. It bricked my system.
  3. So my computer normally runs the following: 500GB M.2 SSD - windows directory 500GB SSD - storage space 3TB - HDD storage space I decide to add a 8TB HDD in my system, but I need to take out a drive. I decide to take out the 500GB SSD to make room. I take out the 500GB SSD, and put in the new 8TB HDD. However, my computer does not boot at all. Goes straight into BIOS. I click around, trying to boot from the M.2 drive, but it just doens't. I take out all drives, except for the M.2 and try to boot, nothing happens. I PUT BACK IN the 500GB SSD that has ZERO data on it, and my computer boots. Please help me figure out what the heck is going on. I have attached the screenshot of my partitions and the drive space.
  4. Recent update: I set the SMBios to 14.2 Mac Pro 4771 but the monitor kept going to sleep. I had to look for -AddHDMI to resolve the issue. The reason for the change is to create a more "stable" CPU for the OS. (is what someone said) Also update: Added a 60GB SSD and put Windows 10 on it for a dual boot. Pretty sweeeeeeeeeeeet now.
  5. In no particular order: -home office, send emails, write reports my work description: -community based work -photos of people, families, kids -portrait stills, actions shots, close ups -making videos, promotional ad, etc. hobbies: -casual gaming on older titles (hearthstone, dota, starcraft, diablo, etc) -upload youtube videos (tech, games, etc) -I like to dabble in video editing, photo editing, etc. thinking of purchasing Final Cut Pro next year -record acoustic guitar clips, research, photos, etc. That's sort of what this machine is for.. overall I just enjoy the Mac OSX experience, so giving that a try over Windows 10 as a desktop daily driver. Hey thanks for the comments! My friend does the photo/video shots, and I just splice them together to make a video. For sure we have lots to go! What do you mean the "put picker on that CX power supply"? A way for others to customize the build? Thanks
  6. Cool! So glad I got to meet you. If I have any problems down the road I'l be sure to contact you! I have heard good things about EVGA.. maybe my next card will be one!
  7. I went through with post-installation steps with Custo Mac Essentials. I think that installed all the kexts.. LMK if I am wrong though!!
  8. Yeah hasn't crashed yet (in terms of load or stress test). It has crashed on wake, which was an easy fix to use boot flag "darkwake=1" Hasn't crashed since. Crossing fingers of course! I see, I think I might have saw it on the "build list" over at tonymacx86 , but I thought this ITX one would work. I have never bought an EVGA card before.. I guess I have a loyalty to Gigabyte products
  9. What does ACX mean? I got the ITX gpu card because it could go into my other ITX build if the hackintosh failed. I did some tests and it doesn't seem that the card overheats at all. Saw good reviews too by other reviewers. If there's ay problems, I could swap to another card, perhaps one with a better look too haha.
  10. First time posting. Sorry if it does not comply with forum rules. All the content is in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PQCMdSXAJY Specs: Intel i7 4790k 4.0ghz CPU Corsair H105 AiO Water Cooler Gigabyte Z97m-D3H Motherboard Samsung Evo 850 500gb SSD Gigabyte GTX 970 Mini ITX Overclock GPU Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB DDR3 RAM Corsair CX600M Power Supply BitFenix Pandora mATX Case Details: This build started as a Hackintosh rig with the purpose of video editing and using Mac OS as my daily driver. When I saw the beauty and elegance of the BitFenix Pandora mATX I suddenly knew the two had to come together. Upon seeing absolutely zero other builds similar to this I was even more motivated to do it. Currently running Mac OSX El Capitan with zero performance issues. The only probably is front audio jacks seem not to work. Need to troubleshoot another driver or kext file. Thanks for reading
