darwin006 got a reaction from SaperPL in I had NO Faith in This
Seeing cables and wires is not a problem that needs to be solved, and if you dont want to see them inside your case dont get a case with a window.

This seems like a nightmare of compatibility problems that will end up driving up the cost of motherboards further. Motherboard manufactures will have to deal with more SKUs, that result in different packaging to denote this dumb config. People will inevitably buy motherboards that dont work with the case they bought resulting in more returns and open box products with increased confusion for new builders. And motherboard manufactures will likely increase the cost of all their motherboards to off set their cost of adding these SKUs and their increase costs that will result from it.

Meanwhile, motherboards are already ridiculously priced because of the stupid garbage "features" that manufactures insist on putting on almost every motherboard especially if the motherboard has a high end chipset. Want to get a motherboard without a silly useless metal cover on your PCIE slot? Impossible, and your MB cost more because that useless bit of metal is there. Want to get a MB without RGB? without the needless plastic covers? without a built in IO shield? without a LCD screen? without WIFI? or without a remote button to release the GPU from the PICE slot? Your only options left if you dont want that stuff are the lowest end chipsets. And all that stuff little by little drives up the cost motherboards to the point where we now have $700+ consumer motherboards that have been bedazzled so manufactures can get higher margins while not actually adding value to the end user. And now buying a high end or even just a mid level chipset without these useless "features" needlessly driving up the price is impossible.

And Wifi might be a "nice to have if you need to troubleshoot something" but at this point its kind of hard to buy a motherboard without it and motherboards with it cost at least $20+ more with it. And because manufactures insistence on adding all these "features" so they have more to print on the box you end with dumb configs where motherboards have 2.5GB LAN, 10GB LAN and WIFI. Is there even 1 person that will ever actually have a legitimate use case for both of those LAN ports and WIFI in the life of that PC?

    edited for wrong info

It was reported by Reuters back in 2012 that GM was losing money on every Volt sold when an expert calculated that development cost and BOM cost for each Volt was at $80k+. A VP at GM said it was true that they where not making money on the Volt but with more production and a gen 2 they could make money. At this point it looks like GM has abandoned the Volt and all hybrids so it seems unlikely GM ever will make their money back on it.

EVs are on the bleeding edge and the early adopters are paying for it especially if they have to deal with the public charging network. Even people with Teslas are having problems with charging in public with Tesla chargers.

Plug in hybrids are great because you get the best of both gas and EV.

R9 7950X3D it matches or beats the 14900k in gaming performance while being much for power efficient and high core count makes it good for production work tasks, unless you need Intel for some Intel only feature. Since you are going to do production work related things with the PC I suspect getting the most performance will be worth it to you so just go for the 14900k but maybe since you didnt get the 13900k and its been out for over a year now maybe you dont need the maximum performance and stepping down to the 14700k would be better for you because of the better efficiency.

I agree that GN should have contacted LMG for comment on everything before the video was released. I believe that GN should have released video after giving LMG time for a response.

I think its a mistake for Linus not to reply with a video or on the WAN Show since he didnt get the chance to respond to the allegations directly to GN for the video.

At this point I think most people that have watched the video are calling in to question every review LMG has done or will do in the future.

Re Linus' response, why accept the Billet Labs cooler for review if your only agenda was to slag it off? You say that regardless of if you tested it correctly (which by the way is a hilarious thing to say), you still think nobody should buy it. You knew it was made by a couple of guys as a passion project yet you still got it in to shit all over it? That is just vindictive and I can't understand the logic.

SSD manufactures past HDD manufactures in drive capacity a while ago but large capacity SSDs continue to be around 10x as much per TB
HDD manufactures continue to find ways to increase drive capacity and decrease the cost of bulk data storage.
HDDs may not be something that you have in your PC anymore but for bulk storage in a NAS or data center they dont seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.

I feel like I need to watch a video comparing unraid to truenas now. Is it not possible to increase the size array without adding more drives? With Truenas I can replace the drives with larger drives and eventually I can increase the size of the pool when all the drives get to the larger size but I cant just add a drive with Truenas.

Looks like major news outlets are looking for ways to interact with the public, start a community, attract more viewers and they want to have some control of the platform they do it on.

I imagine other major news outlets and media companies will be watching what happens with the BBCs "experiment" or going ahead giving their own Mastodon servers a try.

A lot of people go to social media for news, more news outlets using Mastodon/ the Fediverse could be a factor in driving more people away from Twitter and making Mastodon more mainstream.

It is manual, but it seems like people are doing a lot to put it on as many videos as they can. Here's a snip from a guy I work with. Under 800 subs, but even all his videos are redone. I doubt someone went through and redid his videos. I also found someone I subbed to a long time ago. 1 video upload, 7 years ago and it was DeArrowed.

They have been doing the same thing on the TechLinked channel for forever and on the old NCIX channel in news videos when they worked there before. I never found it funny and I just dont watch any of the videos. The content is just not for me. I get my tech and gaming news from any of a number of other YT channels that IMO just do a better job and dont have the lame jokes.
