  1. My thoughts on 10$ CPU cooler are they are not that much better than stock cooler ... Maybe 5c better ? cmiiw They are available but if it helps only 5c why bother ?
  2. So I have an old LGA775 system which around 6 months ago I swap the processor with xeon E5450. The system is currently using intel lga 775 stock cooler. The TDP rating on this CPU is 80w. At Idle the CPU is at around 55~65c quite high I thought. A little less than 1 minute into a stress test it reach 87c then I stop the test because well I don't want to risk breaking anything because I am running a stress test. This PC doesnt have this kind of load often maybe only when I am compiling big source codes like opencv or mysql. I can of coarse solve the temp problem by not utilizing all core in CPU.. I am not going to buy fancy CPU Cooler like the 212 EVO for this it's too expensive for something this old... Then I found these server heat sinks on sale. This was sold very cheap around 3~4$ might be worth looking at.. There is 2 option here 9cm x 7cm x 10cm and 12.7cm x 4.5cm x 5cm How can mount this giant heat on consumer motherboard? Should I mount a 10cm fan maybe 2 ? or no fan would be required for something this big ?
  3. All three name mentioned above is referring to the same product This case is made of aluminum.. I never seen an aluminum case ever They tend to look bad on pictures but looks ok on video (Idk why ? is it just me ? or is it lian li ?) I guess it's light weight I try to find cons for light cases there seems to be no particular reason against light cases Though it's said that it more prone to scratches and dent (is this true?) I am thinking of this case as an alternative to Corsair carbide 88R or Cooler Master N200 they are not necessarily the same price but still within my budget but this case looks sleek This is my second time building a pc so a bit of experience here and there This case seem to be cramped but that's ok I guess ??? I am quite concern cooling as no fans are included and if I buy one it's 8cm variant (kinda rare) People reviewing this case said the cooling is better than it looks What do you think about temp in this case?
  4. if so I would pick the cheapest one available ... is that an ok logic ?
  5. I actually have done it... they are all in tier 2
  6. XFX TS 550w seem to be out of stocked in my place. and so is XFX XTR 550w Seasonic S12G 550w and S12G 650w seems to be available. I am using corsair carbide 88r as the case... It seems to be able handle all these psu physical size I don't care about the modularity in the power supply (unplugging unused cable?) or you can give me reason why I should care other from clearance issue I am bad at keeping these cables so even if the cables aren't used I will still keep them inside the case just for the sake of not losing it later on. pricing follows S12G 550w < XFX TS 550w < S12G 650w =~ XFX XTR 550w if at a time I purchase my pc all 4 of them are available which one should I choose ? if my psu depends on the spec that much this would be what I may have at most i7 6700 b150 motherboard 1 ssd 3 hdd 1 m.2 ssd 4 ram ddr4 (4x8gb or 2x8gb + 2x16gb if it matters at all ?) 2 fan 120mm a gpu something at the level of RX 480 or GTX 960 ( I dont plan to pick up a gpu anytime soon, perhaps 1~3 years in the future so I don't really know ) PSU Calculator suggest 374 watt total I think all is compatible with this build
  7. I currently have a half broken GTX 650. So polaris would be a great upgrade.
  8. ok. I think Rp3,000,000 + salvage value of his old computer will not be enough to buy a system with a gtx 750Ti at least in it. So he said he will probably buy a laptop instead and keep his computer for word, excel, and browsing. Thank you all for your answers. I am really sorry I misunderstood 460/470/480 series as gtx 460, gtx 470, gtx 480 instead of RX 460.. oh well
  9. I am assuming RX460 will cost somewhere R7 360 is which is Rp1.6M not that far from GTX 750Ti, doesn't it.. well he can wait but I can't really. It takes a while to build the computer, backup his data, reinstall the os, and install all the stuff he had installed ... really I don't gain much from doing this so I am looking for less effort for me I guess aaaaaa... It's holiday now he wants to play. Wait 2 months are you kidding me ... by then the holiday will be over. Ok, ill find used part.
  10. oow it's to reduce the latency between what's rendered and what's showing on the monitor they say.. so it's like brute force way to have gsync / freesync like ability. Yeah there is no point at aiming for 300fps on another game 60fps will suffice Yeah sorry i am not thinking beyond c2d because I don't want to deal with moving the IDE drive content to another drive... or even doing a fresh install and i always think the gpu is always the bottleneck when gaming but perhaps not with c2d it's been a while since cpu raw power is not a bottleneck for games well certain games do need them but not csgo. Ok I assume his current pc will sell at Rp 1,000,000 (at worst) which gives him a guaranteed Rp 4,000,000 a random good enough case Rp 350k GTX 750ti Rp 1565k motherboard ga h110mds2 Rp 1145k g4400 Rp740k 4gb of ram ddr4 Rp 295k fsp+ 400w Rp 550k grand total of Rp 4.645.000 hmmm trouble what should I compromise ? The GPU mustn't be compromised going below is hmm not really a great deal I think. G3250 + h81mc cost Rp1588k + 4gb of ddr3 cost 350k less then the above but still above the Rp4M budget This is a hard problem lol
  11. RX480 will be coming at a price of Rp 3,600,000~Rp3,800,000 around next week which is way over his budget. This info is according the shop I frequent. might be slightly off though. RX460 ? When will it launch? i3 6100 720p@120fps csgo at lowest settings and high 1080p@20fps G4400 will be lower ? not the performance I am looking for I am aiming for 720p@300fps med/low settings is this possible ? His pc is 8 years old. He really want to future proof this. definitely not looking for room to upgrade later on. GTX 650 might not be available I don't know the price for this card price might fluctuated a lot ... GTX 750 and GTX 750Ti cost somewhere just a bit lower than GTX 950 if GTX 950 is overkill than GTX 750 and 750Ti is out of the option too.
  12. What he was saying is GPU is not required to play cs go and purchase rx 480 and ssd when there is enough money later on I disagree though g4400 will definitely struggle at playing CS GO P.S. Mas, tolong gunakan bahasa inggris di forum berbahasa inggris
  13. I am from indonesia. My friend wants to play cs go and dota2 at a better framerate. His current pc spec is really old Processor : Core 2 duo E7500 Motherboard : p5kpl se asus (g31 motherboard) RAM : 2GB 1 stick ddr2 pc6400 Harddisk : 160gb IDE HDD, 1TB SATA drive (wd blue i think) VGA : HD Radeon 2400 He have a budget of Rp 3,000,000 (225USD) I recommend him upgrading his VGA for obvious reason GTX 950 at Rp2,250,000 FSP+ 400w Rp 500,000 DDR3 4GB PC12800 at Rp 225,000 at a grand total of Rp 2,975,000 Try trading p5kpl se + 2gb ddr2 ram + E7500 + really sketchy psu with a g41 board + q6600/q8400 I don't know how to plug IDE drive to the new mobo though IDE so old I don't even want to deal with it So the expected end result will be q6600/q8400 + gtx950 + 1tb wd blue + 1x 4gb of ram + 400w psu + 160gb ide drive How is it? Those are for best case scenario in case nobody wants the trade GTX 950 at Rp 2,250,000 2GB DDR2 PC6400 at Rp 200,000 q6600/q8400 Rp 400,000~500,000 at a grand total Rp 2,925,000 #2 scenario result q6600/q8400 + gtx 950 + 1tb wd blue + 2gb x2 ddr2 + 160gb ide drive + 400w psu well how is it for #2 scenario ? I think ill take HD 2400 and anything else left over as a price for doing this for him ? perhaps
  14. Definitely, cannot afford to buy aftermarket anything. Ok thanks for the answer
  15. But the Ethernet and the graphics card VGA and HDMI is still at the back
