  1. I'm incredibly excited, as I've felt my ol' i5 6500 struggle to keep up in some tasks I've just started (dabbling in video editing now in my free time off work). I went ahead and got a used i5 back when I built this computer because at the time, gaming was really the only intensive thing I did. Now that Zen 2's IPC and clocks make it line up or exceed Intel at much lower prices, I'm really excited to upgrade.
  2. Not something that's super ideal, but if you're desperate, you could just get a simple AUX speaker that plugs into your phone. Again, not ideal, but that's how I've gotten around it when my car was just new enough to not have a tape slot, but old enough to not have an aux cord.
  3. Well I was going to be getting the 6 GB 1060 (since my budget is around $1000 and I would benefit from a hexacore, hence Ryzen 5 1600) but it'd be nice to be able to pocket the extra money (since college isn't too kind on the wallet).
  4. Alright, thanks! I've heard similar things so I was wondering if those tradeoffs were worth it.
  5. So I may be making a platform switch somewhat soon, and I'm debating between getting a brand new GTX 1060, or buy a used 780 TI for around $180. My question is, would it be worth it? Like, is the performance still fairly good in today's gaming landscape (and is it worth getting a used part)?
  6. Yeah, third parties at least seem supportive of it. Instead of giving the whole "it's an interesting piece of hardware but nah" they actually seem to at least be considering porting games to it. Bethesda is a pretty big deal (even though Skyrim is practically on your smart fridge by now but still) and I'm looking forward to seeing whether or not it gets third party support. Even if it doesn't, Nintendo almost always has a killer first party lineup that I really enjoy, so that will keep me content regardless of the outcome.
  7. Personally, I love my switch but I wish I had more games for it. I had a Wii U so I didn't feel the need to get Mario Kart 8, but Breath of the Wild is amazing, I'm looking forward to Splatoon 2 in a couple days and Mario Odyssey looks incredible as well. It just depends on your tastes really. Even with the overall poor performance of the Wii U, I still had a lot of fun. The switch looks to be delivering so much more of what I want though so I'd say the future is bright (I mean holy cow Metroid Prime 4 though). From what's been said earlier, I do agree that a PC+Nintendo console is the way to go if you're into experiencing most of what the industry has to offer in addition to having great Nintendo games. However, the switch legitimately has me question sometimes whether or not I want to get it on there or on my PC for the sole reason of being able to take it wherever I go (I Am Setsuna is a good example of that).
