Ok really, nobody is taking about this? There is a Type C port on the RTX  2080/2080ti, why did you have to do this to all of the cards... it completely ruins single slot water cooling these cards.

If someone really wants a type c port for the GPU then get a Type C to Displayport cable!

Asus is releasing a 2080ti blower card (Asus GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Turbo) without the third Displayport above the USB-C port. Ask EKWB if they will make a single slot pcie bracket for RTX series.

That's intended as older windows are no longer supported on new hardware and hits EOL in 2020.

No, for gaming you're better off with a 8400 or 8600k if you want to overclock.

Carbongrip got a reaction from paddy-stone in Android TV with deep blacks?
OLED is the best for black as it disables pixels that are supposed to display black, saving power and making true black. This is the tech that allows "Always on Display" on phones without killing screen or battery.

My recommendation is to get an LG OLED and just buy a NVidia Shield for $179.99 USD.

Don't have an answer for you with the TV problem as such, but would suggest maybe just buying a TV you like that has the black levels/capacity you want, and have an android box separate from it maybe.

I'd take the i3 since it'll offer more than enough power for gaming and allows you to move up to the 8600K or 8700K.

You can also try grabbing an 8400 hexa-core that offers more for your buck.

G-Sync / Freesync just makes the monitors Hz change on the fly to always make the GPU and Monitor sync frame rates exactly.

Carbongrip reacted to X_X in Highest safe max 7900x core temp
Okay, you see where it says Tj. Max is 70C, well it should be 95C. This value is used by software to calculate temperature by taking the DTS reading from each core and subtracting it from Tjmax. DTS readings stay the same. This means your temps are displayed 25C less than they should be meaning your idle temp is actually 50C and maximum in that screenshot is 76C. If one wants to thermal throttle at less than Tjmax (which is 95C whether you change it in the BIOS or not) then there is a TCC offset that can be used.

I did not say they weren't in short supply.  I said it was not a paper launch.  Stop moving the goal post.

Paper Launch?  Bullshit.  As of yesterday Newegg had filled every pre/backorder and was taking orders and shipping them the same day.

Carbongrip got a reaction from leadeater in The LTT youtube channel has become alot worse
Well since Linus has been watching this thread I think I will try to give some constructive feedback:

I enjoy the videos that are more of Linus doing a cool project rather than Linus reading scripts for other LTT members projects. I think Linus himself needs to do something to free up some time to do his own project videos. We are still waiting for him to do part 2 of his office window project and the delidding/replacement with custom LTT Threadripper lid.

Also to give you an idea, maybe the next time you get like a nice product sponsorship bring it with you to a family or friends place and set it up. Kind of like you did with your neighbour. I liked that video, lets do something like that again.

It's nowhere near as good as the 8600K.  I don't know where you're getting your info.  The 1600 is still good, but don't try to say it's better than the CL i5.

That's pretty stupid in my opinion. They should go after the websites, not block users from freely accessing the internet. If they are allowed to block pirate sites from the public, this could open up a gate way for more and more sites to be blocked.

Carbongrip got a reaction from Dr_Frankenolly in Need Help!! Can't find itx motherboard to fit my Intel 4770k CPU!
There won't be ANY choke point with your current motherboard. You have a i7 4770k which means its a Z87 or Z97 motherboard, both of which use the same PCIE 3.0 x16 slot that even the most recent Z170/Z270 motherboards use. My point I made above was that you don't need anything new to support the GTX 1070, my i7 3770k @ 4.2ghz is older than your i7 4770k and uses the Z77 motherboard which also uses the same PCIE 3.0 x16 slot as the newer motherboards. I have ZERO "choke point".

Do yourself a favour, buy a GTX 1070 and install it in your current build. After that you can find a smaller form-factor case that fits your current ATX motherboard.

Higher power efficiency allows greater overclocking. And greater battery life in the mobile world.
No, I am not defending Intel. I am just saying the fact of reality. Maybe Intel is smart in that they are taking advantage of the lack of competition, to address the design issue of their CPU in being so power hungry.
