  1. So, the internal memory for my Samsung S8 is running a bit low. And looking for Micro SD cards I came across this SanDisk 256GB card. It´s available in both A1 and A2 spec for a $20 difference in price, but i fear that my phone won't take advantage of the extra "unff", so i could end up throwing $20 dollars down the drain. Any advice?
  2. We alredy asked, but they don't sell old computers because they're actives
  3. He's still a student, ha dosn't have the budget for workstation parts, and in our country the selection of hardware is very limited
  4. He wants to use Blender, Maya and light CAD Our budget for the system is $1300. Also, we live in Central America, so prices tend to be higer
  5. I've updated the post to reflect some stuff that i forgot. We have a limited budget, so we have to go with 16 GB for now
  6. My cousin (Animation student) asked my to help him build his first PC. He wants to use it as a workstation (he doesn't game) and intends to use it for 3D animation. So I was contemplating an Intel 8700 or a Ryzen 7 2700, but im not shure if his workload would benefit from "more cores" or "faster cores". He wants to use Blender, Maya and light CAD Our budget for the system is $1300. Also, we live in Central America, so prices tend to be higer Any animators that could give me some insight?
  7. Crucial is a well known value brand, they offer good products at a fair price. I've upgraded all my family's laptops to their SSDs and Ram and haven't had any issues over the years. Looking at the prices of your link, I would say "Go for it". You wont regret it. Also, welcome to the Forum!
  8. I'm about to commit into buying a GPU, right now the one im looking at is a Zotac 1070 Ti mini. Here's the thing, i live in Central America, were prices are way higher than in USA. Also, since this is a niche hobby, thers only one retailer that its worth a look, that limits my options on chosing a GPU. For example, that 1070 Ti is priced at $480 and thers only 3 left in stock. All 1080 are out of stock (permanently) and the next step up is a MSI 2070 Gaming at $700, thats way over budget. The thing is, do i wait for the lower end 2070s of go ahead and buy the Zotac 1070 Ti mini? Note: Also, that mini is the only 1070 Ti thats left. And the store will no longer import more 10 series.
  9. CPU: Intel Core i7 6700HQ GPU: GTX 980M (with Optimus, that's why the test says HD 530) RAM: 8GB (4x2) DDR4 Score: 5.7 . Yes, it´s a laptop, but i´m happy with it
