I have the X which is basically just a slightly slower XS (XS basically just got a spec bump and IIRC actually a slightly smaller battery). It's pretty damn good, but if you want to stick with iOS then I'd go for the 11 Pro, it looks to be a solid improvement, especially jumping from a much older phone. 

I can't be arsed to nerd out over the S10 and OP7P right now so I can't offer much on those.

It's just a 6700k, but with 4x the cores. This is still the same silicon as a skylake-x.

I don't know anything about the types of findings you're talking about, but if you consider this even a remote possibility (which I find unlikely) then don't do it.  Jail is bad and video games are not worth jail time.

Sounds like you've found something you have a passion for.  Find a way to make that your job.  There are plenty of instances of companies (many times BIG companies) employing people to try to expose security flaws.  Investigate that and find out how you might get in that line of work.  Clearly the companies you've tried contacting so far are either A) not interested, or B) more likely highly skeptical of a random person waving "look I broke your thing now fix it" in front of their faces.  Assuming they even got the message at all.
 
If you feel like you need to talk with a counselor then please do.  It may be embarrassing at first, but they're professionals looking to help people.  Alternatively, reach out to some close friends and talk things over.

ah, see that's where I'm not sure about it.  It was used by someone other than the account holder without permission.  That's fraud anyway you slice it imo.

Is there a reason you're making so many topics regarding your new build?
Putting all of your questions into a single post in the New Builds and Planning subforum would have sufficed and is the proper way to ask for recommendation especially if it's about a whole new setup. 
It's a lot more difficult for us the people trying to help you and you to keep track or recommend things if we have to browse through multiple posts and keep track of which post is about what. 

For my PhD and seemingly everyone in the Uni department we are just given a budget to spend how we see fit on hardware, so whatever we want in the price range. That is usually a macbook or a thinkpad (with Ubuntu), and then we are given a desktop from the Department which are pretty good too (i5-8600 or similar with 16GB of RAM, running CentOs or similar).
 
When I was in work, we'd spend around £700 on a Lenovo or Dell machine and pair that with 2 24" monitors. The machines would have at least 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD (though we'd install them ourselves rather than getting at inflated prices from the manufacturer).
 
So far its not been too bad! When I started at work, the machines were a bit slower, but we rotated all those out by the time I was leaving.

idk about upgrading the cpu to a 3700x , extra 180 for not that much more gaming performance especially for what im doing, no streaming etc

How much ram are you buying ?
What do you mean by "frame rate go up by 10" & "overall go up by 20" ?

You expect your average to go up by 20 while your max goes up only by 10 ?

The monitor itself does (and always did IMO). That stand is still a laughing stock though.

it's my belief to always reinstall a fresh windows on any new laptop you get. none of this additional crap

eBay protects the buyer well.   Craigslist got me a used PC I made double my money back on.

As a note, Twitch VODS disable audio in the spots where it gets hit by their Copyright Claims. Somehow, YT can't manage that. Which means they've chosen not to.

Stock for stock the 9600k and the R5 3600 are basically on par in gaming performance. The 9600k is only really better for gaming when overclocked and in any task that takes advantage of multi threaded performance the 3600 smokes the 9600k. Just my 2c.

Id probably get a external ssd. There much faster than a usb stick, while not costing much more, and there more reliable.
 
Also be sure to keep good backups, there are lots of things that can lead to data loss on portable drives.
 

Windows 7? Now, why did you get the idea a modern system like that could run such an old OS that's losing support soon? 
 
The solution is rather simple, install Windows 10. Your USB controller is too new for Win7 to have drivers.

I’m not American and even I know nobody has ever gone out of their way to get Comcast and they’re not going to be helpful.
 
You need to explain why using Comcast is important, because if you get Comcast to run a line from an area they service to an area they don’t you are out hundreds of thousands of dollars. If you don’t mind if Comcast lease cables from other companies than why don’t you just use the local provider?
 
I had cables run to a rural farm once - about 4km from the nearest node - and it cost $35k.
