I’m starting to get fed up with fingerprint scanner issues, and a used iPhone X is looking realllly appealing right about now... if I could find a trade with some cash on top on my end I would probably take it...

    I have the X, it's an excellent phone. FaceID isn't as consistent as TouchID for me, but it also works with wet hands and such, and usually unlocks even if I have sunglasses and a hat on. If fingerprint scanning is being funky anyways I doubt you'd care the few times it messes up (and usually you can just try again and it gets you the second time, still faster than putting in a 6 digit pin). 

     

    On the iPhone note, if you're not averse to some bugs (screenshots don't save for me) and random app crashes, iOS 13's public beta is pretty cool. People say it's one of the worst betas yet, but they say that every time and I haven't had any major issues. Phone is so fast anyways that an app crashing loses you... like a second? Just re-open it, ezpz.

    From what I've tried, FaceID is rock solid for me. I think 95% of the time I end up putting in a pin, and maaaybe 1% of the time I unlock it on the first or second go with touchid. Confirmed to be my fingers, my friend's finger works great on my phone, and mine doesnt work on any other touchid era iphone I've ever tried. I dunno!! I think I'm gonna wait for release on ios 13, or at least a later beta, because my phone is like my 1 piece of tech I can always count on to just work without any tinkering at all (one of the reasons I went iPhone actually).
