  1. Try lowering your ram's clock speed or increasing the timings or adding more voltage (if you know what you're doing on the voltage thing- I might advise skipping that). I've had ram in the past that could not run at its rated speed or became unstable at its rated speed after months or years.
  2. Looks like some form of artifacting to me (someone who's been out of the scene for quite a while). If you can verify that the monitor and cable work correctly in a different setup, your GPU is either not functioning correctly or it is a driver/windows/resolution problem. Sorry I'm not of much help.

Been spending some time in a 2021 outback lately and it isn't as awful as I thought, but a car shouldn't have a learning curve... maybe if they could all decide on an interface that isn't garbage I'd be more interested

    I'd be lying if I said that I didn't want this.…

I don't think I could ever own a car where most of the controls are within a touchscreen. It just hurts my brain.

I finally pulled the trigger on a laptop. A 2-i…

Looks almost identical to the laptop I used to have- words of advice: The aluminum is thin, it bends easily. The hinges are great until it gets dropped, then they click. Loudly. Also, if the rubber feet are 2 long strips that have screws under them, good luck finding replacements if you need to open it. I don't think I ever found any. It's a solid laptop, still going strong, and a great price to performer, just be careful not to drop or bump it too hard and make a plan if you have to open it up.
  8. want buy thing because buy thing make happy but nothing need to buy

  9. I'm a bit of a wimp here- any i series quad core or better or a skylake-era + dual core 8 gigs ram (maybe 6) ssd
  10. Bloody hell, seeing the news in tech and corporate land lately has made me glad that I am probably going to be getting a degree useful in the other side of all this

  11. I wish any automaker except tesla could make teslas. Tesla's tech company roots are showing, and their unethical business practices are especially prominent. Hopefully batter technology can move away from lithium eventually, but until then (and my bank account grows significantly), I'll be sticking to combustion.

Had a lot of fun with Teardown and Noita recently. If those look fun to you, I'd recommend both.

Also I've been playing through Yakuza 0 which is also a blast though some parts are a bit bleh.

I’ve been considering a gap year. Ultimately I would love to take one, but due to some financial stuff and my grades being as high as they are it makes sense for me to just go. What it really came down to me lying to myself that I was going to be an engineer and switching between several different kinds of engineering. I don’t think I could ever do a job like that long term, and after a lot of deliberation I’m relatively certain I’m going to major in biochemistry and put myself on a track for dental school or medical school, probably dental school.
  16. I haven't even submitted my college applications yet and I have already changed what I want my major to be 3 times...

Gap years are such a good concept, but totally unacceptable to many american sensibilities. Sure people acknowledge that this is the age where you know least what to do with your life but the traditional approach is to just hunker down and force your way through it. I wish I had taken a gap year, switching majors after 3 years at college was a painful ordeal.

@Fasauceome Exactly why he should do it. I know so, so many people that went to school for something (myself included) and didn't end up going into even remotely the same field. Such a waste of time and money.

The dynamic between her and the rest of offline/their friends is really entertaining. I don’t play many games so it’s difficult for me to appreciate someone who is incredibly skilled in games like valorant since I don’t understand how the game works, so I watch streams for the people behind the stream. All of offlineTV have this element but I think she especially has a very good grasp of how to create a good dynamic with anyone she plays with and creates an environment where everyone can banter and play off what eachother has done. She isn’t even my fav member of offline (that would be Michael for sure) but she’s the one who gets most hate and i don’t even really know why

  24. As a not gamer That last part about tickrates isn't strictly always true, as some things are handled client side and render every frame, and there are other advantages than just more information, such as reduced motion blur. This i just coming from my CSGO experience though, so it could be game dependent. IMO 95% of this stuff is feel, if it feels better you're going to game better.
