Neokolzia got a reaction from kirashi in 4 yr old Note Edge going strong, Software Updates not so much. Disappointed
ya unfortunately these roms people are making and supporting are not for the canadian baseband version so I don't believe I can use them any rom support for those is very limited.

Thats just another issue with how Samsung made like 7-8 different baseband versions for North America alone.
(by no means a expert on Android roms, just my understand that they have to support my baseband in the rom which basically none of the ones on XDA do they support the USA basebands)

Neokolzia got a reaction from HK1 in im planning to do a custom loop in the ncase M1.. rad clearence??
I just don't think this case is well designed for watercooling, having your only major radiator blasting straight into your GPU block just seems like a bad idea or exhausting from it either or.

I can definately understand being heartset on a small form factor build.  I'd consider your options with other SFF cases as well, as there are many out there, and not to mention could be a number that have never been modded fully

I mean take a look at some EVGA Hadron builds they are beautiful, albeit before tempered glass phad

Just take it from me at least where I have dual 420mm rads (27mm thick Magicool's) and because of poor air flow in the bequiet 900 pro it suffers pretty bad considering its a fairly reasonable loop with just a 1800x and 1080ti

Neokolzia got a reaction from 00RaZoR11 in GPU sag can probably cause a leak over time, can't it?
I don't believe so, Hard tubes shouldn't just "slip" out from a graphics card sag if they were installed correctly,  And soft tubes wouldn't have any issues, specially if compression fittings are used, but anything shouldn't cause a leak like you described

Believe me that with the oring clamped down on a hard tube no amount of human force is removing it without mechanic advantage.
    ____________________________________
Infact I would say the opposite it true, to your question about sag, that Hard lines prevent sag as they give your system and components much needed support.
Not to mention weight is very re-distributed on a GPU block compared to a 2+ slot air cooler

A Quick google will find guides from even HP how to disassemble the PC and repaste it.

You should make sure that it isn't just clogged heatsinks by blowing them out when its powered down with some compressed air

Neokolzia got a reaction from WoodenMarker in Which one would be the best for my cpu?
If you already have a x52 your not going to see a massive improvement moving to other coolers it will just be "marginal"

They have larger surface area's but as you already have a 240mm cooler it honestly isn't going to get that much better.
    i.e upgrading from a x52 -> x62 or x72 or x1000 will only net you like 2-4 degree's likely. And isn't a true solution.

If money isn't a "problem" then Delidding your processor would be next thing I would look into.
    ______

Assuming your overclocked as well, and that you haven't delidded.  That your Processor probably isn't the best stock paste situation that would be the next logical step.

I understood that point they were making, but reality is there is always things in hindsight about these sort of tests, and optimizations for new platforms etc.

No benchmark is conclusive but unfortunately very few outlets will revisit it and most of the metrics are set immediately.

Ryzen is probably the most retested platform just because of these learning experiences.

I mean thats what basically has bound Car manufacturers for a long time.

Like if I install a Exhaust system on a car, and my Suspension goes, unless they can Prove that the exhaust caused the failure of the suspension, they can't deny my warranty claim.  Though when talking about Performance mods and something goes wrong with engine then things get obviously bit more dicey.

Wondering how this would go if god knows what happens to a GPU starts artifacting/dying etc, but you had watercooled it.  And how all that would go down, of course could be your fault for say missing a VRM or a RAM chip's thermal sticky stuff.

My question more over is, the practice of denying warranty actually unlawful then if I had installed a waterblock.

Obviously if the damage is my own fault I should be accountable, but if it wasn't and was just hardware failure it should be still warrantied

Ok @LinusTech Take it the next Step

Make a Chillbox, basically i.e taking that and making a Sub-Zero box that is air tight, and Chilling the box using a radiator and fan inside the box.

GPU and CPU can be cooled via Air or via the loop, or via a dual loop.

This is a solution that is 24/7 viable and removes condensation from the equation, as the condensation will just freeze to the radiator in the box when its present.

Big PSA for users of these boards to avoid this firmware update until a fix is announced, so there's no chance of becoming a victim to it.
Its reported that basically inside the bios menu voltages on the vcore are fluctuating between 1.5-1.7 which is very very high, where as usual voltage is closer to 1.2 or 1.35-1.45 when OC'd, and the max you can even set in the bios is 1.55

F8 (Gaming 5) & F6 (x370 K7) bios has also been uploaded by Gigabyte today allegedly fixing the Vcore issue
F7 (Gaming 5),F5 (x370 K7) are no longer available to download and should be avoided

Could also be tightness of heatsink, I've had this before from overtightening, and it booted and everything just things... really f'd up after a short period of time.

I would recommend try reseating your heatsink, given if its a standard intel clip design it can't really overtighten (shouldn't beable to), but reseating it and inspecting theres no debris in the pins causing faulty contacts.

    Few other trials;

Try leaving it in the bios screen for extended amount of time, see if it crashes there, since it won't be loading the CPU unlike when your trying to boot windows off a Stick.  Though loading issue could be both the PSU and CPU

You aren't able to overclock Xeon's, the main Feature of a Z97 is generally overclocking, rest of the features are "Meh" typically, but some important ones can be sometimes the limitations in SLI and Crossfire configurations, or lack of any ability to Crossfire/SLI, in a H97 (generally not a issue as more people stray away from multi-card setups)

I don't have experience with Xeons but far as I'm aware they're as plug and play as any other processor, Zero overclocking again, so don't need to worry about that.
